Atatürk Museum in İzmir is a beautiful and peaceful place full of modern history. The building itself is elegant and well preserved, showing the architecture of the early 20th century. Inside, you can see many personal belongings, like clothes of Atatürk, his photos, documents, and furniture used during his stays in İzmir. The building is like a complete house, dining room, meeting room, bed room... The museum gives a clear picture of his life and his great role in Turkish history. The entry is free, the staff are kind and helpful, which makes it easy for everyone to visit. It’s located near the sea, so after visiting the museum, you can enjoy a nice walk along the Kordon. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to learn, reflect, and feel close to Atatürk’s memory. Highly recommended for both locals and tourists.

This is where he launched his war of liberation after the first World War. This is also where he met his wife who was born and raised in Izmir. The Ataturk Museum explains the history of Ataturk in painstaking details and displays many daily artifacts. If you're at all interested in modern Turkish history, don't miss this museum.

Really well presented life and personality museum of Atatürk. Everything is authentic and shown in a life like manner. The lighting especially gives the feeling of living in the 30's and 20's. Well worth a visit if you are interested in the life of the man who founded the modern Turkey..
