The Surprising History Below France’s Avenue de Champagne - AFAR

"A fifth‑generation family house dating to 1834, its cellars still hold bottles from that era and the guided “Joyau de France” tour focuses on the region’s lengthy history and its UNESCO recognition. The visit emphasizes continuity and craftsmanship and typically concludes with tastings of a couple of early‑2000s vintages to illustrate the house’s aging profile." - Brad Japhe

Beautiful location in the heart of Epernay. A lady called Margaret guided us. She was very informative, and the tour was not too long. We tasted 2 different champagne after the guided tour. Highly recommended!!

This was a lovely set up. The wine cards placed in front of each tasting is nice for reference. Sitting around the bar while tasting champagne was nice and we could chat with other visitors too.

We visited some champagne houses but our visit to Boizel was the best we had. We did an English tour with Thaya and she was super funny, knowledgeable, spoke super English and the tasting was really well done. We can definitely recommend it!

A Must-Visit Champagne House in Épernay! My recent visit to Champagne Boizel in Épernay was truly an unforgettable experience. The warm hospitality and passion of the team stood out, making the visit special. Exploring the historic cellars, surrounded by aging bottles, was a remarkable highlight, and the tasting session was exceptional. Each champagne showcased Boizel’s elegance, finesse, and signature style. If you're in Épernay, this is an absolute must-visit for any champagne enthusiast. Highly recommended for an authentic and memorable champagne experience!

We did a tour with Louanna today and were lucky enough to be the only 2 people on the tour! Louanna was very knowledge and it was great to see ‘behind the scenes’, especially in the beautiful cellars. The tasting was one of the best we’ve done in this region - the information cards are so helpful and the champagnes on offer are varied and delicious. Would highly recommend stopping by and enjoying this wonderful place!

Great tour and tasting. Our tour guide was very friendly and informative. Clearly a quality focused house. Loved the tasting cards, you were not rushed for the tasting and easy to buy some more glasses and sit in the beautiful courtyard. Highly recommended.

A fantastic tour and wonderful champagne! The tour was the perfect length and the volume of information ideal - not too much, but enough (and you are encouraged to ask anything else you want to know). You explore part of the production areas and wonderful caves, before enjoying your selected tasting. Our host was exceptional. Happy to recommend this any day!

We spent 5 days in the Champagne region, visiting 5 great wineries. Parking is possible in the courtyard, a great help on the Avenue de Campagne. Stylish courtyard with nice chairs and sun beds inviting you to stay. We tasted two champagnes, both excellent. The young man who served us was very nice (19 August). He told us a lot about the two drinks served. It is a very good idea, a clever marketing tool, to leave a small card at the table with the drink you have tasted. This card has all the information about the drink. The gift shop offer could be a bit wider and more varied, so that you can buy drinks as well as the drinks.

Yelp
Came here on a rainy morning on a Thursday. Was able to get a parking spot easily and do a walk in tasting without a reservation. The staff is warm and friendly. The service is refined and professional. Possibly my favorite champagne house on the champagne avenue.

Yelp
This was a small champagne house along the Ave de champagne. It was a nice stop on our day of champagne drinking.

Yelp
A lovely place to stop during your trip down the Avenue of Champagne with a beautiful courtyard and house. The tasting room is set up lovely and has a good range of champagnes. I liked them so much that even though I didn't have room, I bought a bottle to take home anyway. The woman working that day was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

Yelp
Nice wines ranging in all prices. This is one of the only proper wineries open on a Sunday (the other being Moet et Chandon). The other 2 places we saw that were open & serving champagne were hotels...... We opted for the "Origin" tasting and got to try something from their 2nd Generation, from the 6th Generation and a Blanc de Blancs My fav was the Blanc de Blancs - it was lighter & fruiter than the other 2. The 2nd generation wine was a direct response to British needs for a dry champagne that would pair with food. The 6th Generation was a more savory wine that would definitely pair well with food It was amazing to discover champagnes that would pair with savory meals and not just to enjoy as an aperitif. Really expanded my knowledge & pallet.

Yelp
Great place to visit. Very modern and inviting tasting room. The champagne and staff were great. Irene, our host was very friendly and knowledgeable. She made it a very pleasant visit. After we left we visited another winery, but it just didn't compare in quality or friendliness of staff. So we returned to Boizel to purchase a few more bottles. We would definitely recommend to friends! Open on Sunday's which was an added bonus. Thanks for making our quick trip to Champagne country enjoyable.

Yelp
They started to organise visits at their famous premise on Av de Champagne c. 3 weeks ago! Boizel in therefore still a hidden gem in this regard ;-) Anyway, a great experience with a super tour guide finished by an exquisite tasting! I warmly recommend this place if you want to learn more about the Champagne making process and see their "treasure room" with bottles dating back to the first years of the house: 1834!! Will go back for sure
