Atelier
It's very beautiful, exactly like the pictures, and their website. This was the first time my husband had the opportunity to stay at an All-inclusive hotel and he was very excited.
They have some of the best tasting food at a hotel. It was very nice that we didn't have to go out into town for food. The portions are small, keep that in mind when ordering. My husband and I each would order 3 items minimum. Entre, main dish, main dish or desert. According to the employees they serve this way so we have the opportunity to try more items. So, order away. The servers are very hardworking, and very attentive. You can tell they want to make sure you leave satisfied, and they welcomed any feedback so they could improve for next time.
Maria Dolores- not included in the all inclusive package. You must pay to eat here.
Suspiro- seafood, no Aguachiles though. I ordered red chilaquiles, they gave me green.
Cafecito- coffee shop, this is great. I was very happy to see they had this.
Mercado19- buffet for breakfast, a la cart for dinner. The only spot to get the more traditional Mexican food at dinner. They also closed this restaurant for one night, and didn't let anyone know so it was upsetting, as we had scheduled to go to each restaurant one night.
Los Abrazos: their steak house, very good,
Cilento: Italian, very good
Takeshi: Japanese, very good/ our favorite!!
Room service: 24/7 food was good.
Concierge:
We arrived late, so the next morning we decided to go downstairs and get information regarding the Covid testing, trips we could book, and ask about the activities being conducted by the hotel. Fabiola referred us to the Atelier App for activities, ordering room service, and a map of the hotel. She also brought up the Inspira membership and that was a whole thing, however we signed up and we received two free hydrotherapy sessions in their Nuup Spa. This was AMAZING. We booked two activities with them, and both were worth the money. We did the zip line tour, and the Chichén Itza tour. They picked us up, provided lunch, and brought us back to the hotel.
Inspira Membership
I know there's a catch to everything "Free" so I knew what I was getting myself into when I signed up. I never thought my entire trip would be ruined after though. The hotel will offer you a gift in exchange for meeting with their Founders from Inspira. Inspira is a membership that allows you to travel to Atelier, 2 sister hotels and get to stay at their more high-end suites. I was interested as the hotel is very impressive, and I wouldn't mind spending the 4K for the week again. We had lunch with our rep, and took a tour of the suites that would be available as a member. Towards the end we went back to their office to talk about the types of memberships and cost. Long story short in order for us to become a member we had to leave a 15k deposit. They were very pushy, and they made us feel bad because we didn't have that kind of money to put down. One of the reps said, " How do you travel on vacation with no money." Being on my honeymoon, just having to spend thousands on our wedding, and we only brought enough money for tips/and gifts it left a really bad taste. I was disappointed. I worked really hard to pay for my trip. I told the rep, this was an all inclusive hotel, I brought money to tip your employees, I didn't bring a spare 15k. She laughed and then said there wasn't much she could help us with and would let us go back to our vacation. That whole experience was 3 hours.
Side Note: IMPORTANT
The hotel was being occupied by mostly Caucasians. My husband and I were were one of the few Latinos and we felt like we were being treated differently. It wasn't until I decided to speak only English that the service changed.
Because it's so expensive here, compared to other hotels we expected customer service to be at its best. Unfortunately, this was not the case. 80% of the employees were amazing, friendly, and courteous, the other 20% were rude. We are Mexicans, in Mexico, and our own people didn't want to serve us. We felt, like we were bothering them. We felt very discriminated.
I would like to say that I will come back next year on my anniversary, but sadly we will most likely not be returning to this place and do not recommend this hotel. Spend your hardworking money somewhere else.
