"If you prefer large, well-known hotels and reliable, if predictable, accommodations, then the affluent Miraflores (and nearby Barranco) district is your best bet for a home base in Lima. For the traveler who wants to experience Lima like a houseguest, however, there’s no hotel better than Atemporal, located just steps away from Huaca Pucllana (one of the city’s most important pre-Incan archeological sites). The 1940s-era, Tudor-style mansion was transformed into a small boutique hotel after a careful makeover in 2016, with nine individually decorated rooms done up in artsy prints and contemporary details. Along with the décor, service shines—guests can enjoy a complimentary cocktail each evening, along with other gratis amenities like à la carte and buffet breakfast, Wi-Fi, a 24-hour concierge, bicycles, and even a MINI Cooper Clubman and driver available on a first-come, first-served basis. The hotel’s small size precludes it having a gym or pool, but there are peaceful sitting spaces in the lovely garden area. And while Atemporal also lacks a restaurant, it’s within easy walking distance to some of the city’s finest eateries, including Astrid y Gastón—the restaurant that announced Lima’s arrival as a culinary destination."
Charming and intimate—just as pictured on the website.||We stayed in Room 1, which unfortunately was quite noisy. It’s located on the ground floor with single-pane windows facing the street, and the door opens directly off the reception area with minimal soundproofing. The main window also looks out onto the communal breakfast area, which didn’t help with privacy or noise.||That said, other rooms are likely much quieter and more private—we may have just been unlucky.||There was also construction next door during our stay, which impacted the experience.||On the plus side, the staff were helpful and the location is excellent.

This is a small, quiet hotel with a beautiful garden patio and attentive, friendly service. Located in a primarily residential area of Lima, the hotel is a like an oasis amidst noise and traffic. The rooms are spacious and have plentiful amenities. Breakfast was a treat.

We recently spent three nights at Hotel Atemporal, and it was truly a memorable experience from start to finish. From the moment I
As we arrived with a lot of luggage we received upon check-in a complementary room Upgrade, which was a lovely surprise and made us even more comfortable.

We loved our stay at Atemporal. We could have spent the whole time in the gorgeous courtyard. The rooms were very comfortable, we enjoyed walking around the neighborhood to go to the cafe and lunch nearby. Eating out in Lima was delicious!!! The team was very kind and hospitable with wonderful recommendations. Thank you Antonio and Sergio! We hope to be back 💛

What a beautiful small hotel with lovely staff! It felt like a home with all the hotel perks and then some. The beds and linens were comfortable. I think I could’ve stayed in that backyard forever with a glass of white wine!

There's an old platitude about how some hotels feel more like a home for travellers then a business - but when it comes to Atemporal, it's all true.||Ignacio Macias has significant and impressive form when it comes to creating hotels. His Titilaka up on Lake Titicaca, established before this one, was an early marker to show he has great style and finesse.||Because here's the thing. It's not that difficult to create a luxury hotel - you can just throw money at it. But as you can see all too easily in a place like New York, where they spend the money but never have the style to create a relaxed ambiance - indeed if anything create a hovering anxiety - it takes real creativity and confidence to make a welcoming place.||Having stayed in many hotels in Peru over the last 40 years - and written a great deal about Peru in my books - I would say Atemporal tops the list for relaxed charm. ||A couple of honeymooners were very happily having breakfast on the terrace this morning in their dressing gowns – while blackbirds and cheeky blue-eyed doves were keeping us company under the hanging datura lilies. (A very good breakfast by the way, served up by the capable Daniela, with particularly good fresh fruits.) ||The fact that the hotel is a couple of blocks away from some of Lima's finest Nikkei restaurants – Osaka and the less known but excellent Shizen - the charming bookshop cafe of Libreria Sur - and the beautiful old olive trees of the Olivar park, with saffron-coloured finches dotted around, just makes it all the more appealing.||You won’t want to leave.
