Athena's Corner

Immediately was greeted by the lovely owner that has owned many successful restaurants in her lifetime. I travel for a living so it was a warm feeling having a nice long dinner here. I highly recommend. New to Greek food and was beyond impressed. Everything was fresh and the staff went above and beyond to be kind, caring and very friendly. Can't wait to visit again! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

First time here and the food was incredible! We tried two different appetizers and two entrées. Fabulous! Very reasonably priced. Cute and quiet. Will be back.

We came with a group for brunch and it was somewhat busy. The staff was very nice and friendly. I got the pork kebab wrap and it was delicious. The Greek salad was amazing as well. 6 out of 5 stars. I definitely recommend

Everything tasted so fresh, you can really tell how good the ingredients are and how much care goes into the food. The baklava is clearly homemade and hands down the best around. The restaurant is spotless, bright, and very comfortable. We loved every bite. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

Some of the best pita bread we’ve ever had! The kabobs and pita wraps are really really good. Didn’t expect much from the side salad but even that was great. A new favorite!!

Let me be clear the flavor of almost all of our food was on par. But my Branzino was slightly undercooked and the fish wasnt cleaned properly as I was spitting pieces of scale out as seen in photo. Other than this food was perfect.

Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful service, and great food! We had the beef and lamb gyro,moussaka,requested a double cheeseburger with bacon, which they delivered and executed beautifully, and Athenian pasta and shrimp along with several drinks and a round of shots. Everything was quite delicious, and the prices weren't to bad, although the shots were $8 each, which is a bit high. Definitely will return. Maybe won't order shots next time haha

Why 5 stars? Because this meal really hit the spot. --- --- --- I've had Athena's bookmarked for a while now, as my parents live in Friendswood, and thought this would be a great place to try when visiting them. The stars finally aligned and I was able to meet them here recently. My mom wanted to order some dolomades to start off, and I'm not really a big fan, so I just figured those would be all her. But she offered to let me try one, and I can easily say that these were the best dolomades I've ever had. She agreed. I have no idea what they do to make these not taste so "sharp" like they usually do, but these were really unbelievable. For my appetizer, and I went with a beef/lamb gyro and it was everything you want in a gyro. Soft pita bread, non-gamey meat and everything in between. The greek salad that came with it was pretty underwhelming, but I ordered a side of greek fries too, and those were what I was hoping they'd be. We finished off by ordering a few desserts to share. I went with the strawberry cheesecake as the one I was mostly focused on, and loved it. This is definitely not a frozen cheesecake - they make them in-house and it's obvious when you take your first bite. I understand why Athena's Corner has such great reviews and hope to be back!

Another average at best Greek/Mediterranean spot in Houston. We have tried almost all of them and most are not that good to be honest. The dip sampler was ok, tzatziki was decent, eggplant was pretty good, but the hummus was terrible we had to throw it out. Also for over $20 in sampler dips you would think they would do the right thing and give you 2-3 pitas to dip in them. Nope they barely gave us one pita, very disappointing. We even ordered extra on the side and again it was very minimal, pittas are cheap and easy to make and most spots throw in a few especially if you order extra but they did not. The pittas are very soft and fluffy though so that is a bright spot one of the better pitas in Houston. The gyro was decent but nothing unforgettable best part of it was the pita on the outside. We prefer thin sliced pieces of meat but they were a bit chunkier. So overall would not recommend them at all 6/10, still the best Greek/Mediterranean food out here is Petras, at least they give tons of meat on their gyros and the meat is flavorful instead of bland like most of these places.

Chicken/lemon soup was FANTASTIC!! Maria went out of her way to clear a back table and stopped doing what she was doing to make us comfortable; that was VERY much appreciatedl Having said that, The beef on the Ka-bob was way over cooked and very tough to cut and chew [it was too well-done, cooked]; it was not 'medium'. Rice was too oily. But the chicken/lemon soup was DELICIOUS!! It tasted wonderful and was piping hot. I'll be back.

Athena's Corner is very family friendly. The prices for entrees drinks and apps are reasonable and generously sized Fantastic, authentic Greek food. The proprietors are on site and make you feel welcome

When you leave Athena's you leave with your belly full and a smile on your face knowing you had a great authentic meal! We tried the lamb chops and the slow cooked lamb AND moussaka because I just couldn't leave without trying it. Ms. Brandy let us know it was a big portion and she was right! We took two bites and had to pack it to go. Regardless it was delicious! We are excited to come back perhaps for their brunch such a nice and welcoming establishment I love the cleanliness :)

Food and service was excellent. Only few tables occupied on this weekday early evening. Place was quiet and had relaxing time.

We stopped here for lunch after visiting NASA. The gyros were delicious! The potatoes were seasoned-well, and fries were nicely crunchy. Everything tasted fresh, and it was all very flavorful. The staff were friendly and prompt. The restaurant was bright, airy, and clean. If I am ever back in the area I would definitely return.

We're back, and we couldn't be more excited! Join us this Wednesday for half-priced bottles of wine. It's the perfect excuse to savor delicious Greek food alongside a great glass of wine. Honestly, what could be better? Go and enjoy every moment!

Prices are a bit steep. But the lamb is delicious. Ate every bit off the bone. Nice atmosphere for a Sunday lunch

Ordered gyro catering and it was awesome. Ordered for 8 and I think 16 people could have eaten from it. I love the lemony taste on the potatoes. The tzatziki sauce was great. I will be eating here again for sure. Highly recommend!

Tonight was our first visit to Athen's Corner, and we WILL be back! Everyone in our party of five raved about their food. The steak kabob was probably the best steak I've had in years. Prices were reasonable, and the service was excellent. Just go, seriously.

Cozy spot in Seabrook with great service, a full bar and delicious Greek food! I heard a lot of hype around it so I went with a friend and it hit the spot. Looking forward to going back again. They do half off wine bottles on Tuesday and Wednesday and have a lunch menu with specials. Prices are very reasonable.

I like Greek food. This was fair. The proportions were average. It is in the neighborhood if you're in the mood for Greek.

This place does Greek the way Greek should be done. Not only was the food perfect, but the ambiance and service was spot on. I enjoyed everything I tasted, but be warned the Athena's Veggie Chips (crispy zucchini & eggplant chips served with tzatsiki) are addictive. Try not to eat them all before your food comes, you WILL want room for your meal. My daughter and I shared them along with the 3 Dip Sampler (Tzatsiki, Hummus and Tirokafteri served with pita). The Tzatski tasted so good, it was hard to not eat it all (I love the stuff). This was a lot of food, and it was just the appetizer, so we had plenty to take home with us. I had the Gyro Plate (Slices of lamb & beef with Greek salad, served with pita bread) and she had the special of the day, unfortunately I forgot the name of her dish. Nevertheless, my daughter said the chicken was amazing and some of the best she had ever had. We both loved it so much, we went back for more the next day, because she claimed her sister needed to try it too. Excellent decision in my opinion :) And we will be back very soon, because there is much more to try.

This review is for the breakfast at Athena's Corner. The winning dish was the spanakopita mixed with eggs, served with a side of potatoes. We also had an omelet with gyro meat, which probably should have had a few tomatoes mixed-in to add some juiciness. The former dish was excellent, the latter quite good. The service was friendly, although I got the sense that our poor waitress could have used another hour or two of sleep. She perked-up by the time we were finishing our meal. I would gladly return to try lunch or dinner at Athena's Corner.

The staff is amazing and the food was so delicious. The restaurant is set up really nice so I will be willing to take a date there. The only thing I didn't like was I ordered the orange sponge cake with vanilla ice cream. It said soft and fluffy. It was anything but soft and fluffy. It was soggy and stale. But my main course the salad was delicious and Giro sandwich. The food prices are a little high. I will definitely go back here and eat again.

Delicious! Our second time here and food is consistently delicious. Pita is soft and with a nice grill taste. Greek salad so fresh, fries are extra crispy, hummus and tzatziki are spot on.

I was craving grilled Octopus and this place had the best I have ever had! It was cooked perfectly! The service was excellent and the Avgolemono Soup and chicken Santorini was delicious! The 1/2 price wine today was the cherry On top!

I just finished eating dinner at Athena's Kitchen. Words cannot completely describe how amazing everything was. Garrett greeted me at the door, took great care of everything, recommended everything and he wasn't wrong. I started with the Avgelomono soup. Outstanding!!!! Moved on to the Mousaka, served hot in a small single serving dish, Superb! Finished with Raven (Orange sponge cake) with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Perfection!!! Start to finish this is one of the best meals we have had lately. The food is exceptional and the service delightful. We started with the spicy feta dip- delectable! We ended with the special dessert for two with phyllo and custard. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We will be back!

I came here for a baby shower and that gave me the opportunity to try lots of tapas. My husband doesn't like Greek food so I don't get to have it often and this was just such a treat. Everything I had was utterly delicious and the proprietor is friendly and wildly experienced. I hope I get the chance to come back here so I can order that buttery spinach pastry thing all for myself.

While on vacation, my family and I sought out a restaurant that was not Mexican or fast food. We thankfully found Athena's Corner. As we walked in we were pleasantly surprised by the cozy 'Mediterranean meets modern' decor. We were immediately welcomed by Brandi and the restaurant's owner. They were both very personable, pleasant, and helpful. We were made to feel as though we were part of their extended family. The sweet husband and wife that own this eatery are passionate in sharing their Greek heritage and delicious food with Texans...and it shows! We started with Dolmades, Tzatziki, and a glass of Retsina. We then followed up with a bottle of Pinot Noir, Greek salads, a pan-seared sea bass dish, a Keftedes meatball dish, and Moussaka. Each dish was amazing!! If you want to experience phenomenal food in a cozy setting, this place is an absolute must!!

Beet salad was my favorite. The dressing was at the side and salad veggie was fresh and cold not stale. Love the lamb lollipop -meat was a good quality. Second time to order - did the meat platter but the pork was poor quality but nicely seasoned. . Overall will come back.

Try them. 40 mins since we got here and ordered. No food not even appetizers. It's hummus and pita. 7 mins tops. Not 40+ mins. I have water and limes. So that's something. Lime is an appetite suppressant so maybe that helps? This better be Michelin Star cuisine about to hit the table.... Stay tuned. Bumped to 4 Stars after meal arrived. Hummus was initially forgotten and still strange as that's such an easy app to quickly provide. Once the manager (Daughter Diana) realized, it was quickly fixed and comped. Already forgiven. Meal: gyro Greek salad, falafel sandwich, Greek olives, hummus appetizer Very generous gyro meat. Still crisp outside with soft, savory meat. Loved it. Salad also generous with feta and Greek olives which is rare. Really enjoyed the flavors. Also had several pita triangles. Falafel was also crispy on the outside and perfectly soft flavorful inside. Would love to have those by themselves as well. Wife loved the whole meal. She got the lemon potatoes which were delicious and simple. Said the pita was not too thick and rather had a light enjoyable quality to it. Hummus was much more traditional Greek chunkier, authentic rather than our overly smooth creamy Americanized style. Appreciated that. Felt like a small portion for $8 price. But we had so much food it didn't matter. Greek olives were tart and delicious. Definitely what I was craving. Overall: once they get the front of house staffing and timing worked out this restaurant will be a real local gem. Pops cooking in the back knows what he is doing. Felt like I was back in Greece with each bite. It was just really challenging on a late Friday evening date after a long week and having to wait 45+ minutes for the first bite of food and we were STARVING by then and a little irritated. There wasn't a lot of table attention from the staff. All very kind when interacting with us, but rarely stopped by. Wife's drink never refilled. Restaurant was only 70% filled so shouldn't have been that neglected. Maybe need to add to kitchen staff and remind waitstaff to be more aware/active. But srsly try Athena's Corner. They deserve to stay there. Staff very nice and trying hard. Food worthy of appreciation. They will be an excellent, well-loved Mediterranean fixture for us locally. Great interior design. Practical flow to the seating. Cool vibe. Definitely will excel in take out. Maybe try that first. I look forward to trying their full expansive menu.

This place is amazing! The food is really authentic. The service has been great every time I have been in. The ambience is nice but not uptight.

This place is likely the best Mediterranean restaurant in the greater Clear Lake area, at least in my experience. My wife and I have been here a couple of times. The atmosphere leans a bit informally upscale -- this is not a buffet place. Staff are friendly and helpful. We've had the lamb and beef pitas and plates, all of which were quite good. There's much more on the menu to try, and we'll get around to that someday. They have more dessert options here than usually the case, and they make them here. Stays busy enough at lunch, but not crowded and not noisy. We'll be back.

Seabrook's hidden gem!!!!! The food is beyond delicious and fresh. The service was amazing. Super kind staff. Great restaurant to bring your family or even have a nice date night. Definitely returning

Such a delicious brunch!! We got the saganaki grilled halloumi appetizer with honey and lemon and that was so good! For entrees we split the chickpea salad, which had tons of fresh veggies and lemon and a delicious olive oil, and the gyro and feta omelet. For dessert we had the revani, which was an orange almond, olive oil cake with vanilla ice cream and marmalade, that we loved and we enjoyed this with 2 frappes which were strong and frothy and perfect with the cake. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back next time we are in town! Service was fantastic too! Thank you for a great brunch!

First things first, the food was amazing and full of flavor. The place was small but cozy and clean. Love the music selection played in the restaurant. The music set the mood and complements the style of the restaurant. I just hate when you go to a restaurant and the music they play doesn't match the style/culture of the restaurant. The service was top notch and made my meal enjoyable. We were waited on from the time we arrived to the time we departed. Everything was great, I recommend this place for a night out on a small date or if you don't want a crowded restaurant but great Greek/ Mediterranean food. We loved this place and plan to return soon. Everything was cooked perfectly and the service was excellent. Loved the Seafood Orzo. This place is a must stop for great Mediterranean food.

First time here & ate Saturday lunch. We got trio of dips - hummus, tzatziki & spicy feta with pita. All delicious & pita was fresh. Husband got Greek tacos & they were great. I had Athena's omelet. Very tasty! Potatoes were especially delicious. Lovely space, tasty food & good service.

We came with 10 people and a dog and sat outside. The food and service were excellent. I really appreciate them giving our dog plenty of water and his own plate of pita bread.

Great new Mediterranean restaurant in Seabrook. My wife and I go almost every weekend and sometimes during the week. Food is always fresh and healthy. We love sitting outside under the umbrellas. Such wonderful food & close to home.

Just had breakfast here today. It was delicious!! I had the chocolate chip pancakes and my son had the baklava pancakes. We sampled each other's and both were so good. My husband had the gyro omelet and said it was good! Service is friendly and quick. We will absolutely be back!!

Love this place!! Great ambiance, delicious food! Service is very friendly - we just came in the other day at 8:50pm, 10 mins before closing and graciously invited us in. They have plenty of selection on their drink menu and feature some nice specials during the week. My favorite plate is the gyro platter. Also highly recommend their lemon wedge potato's. If you haven't tried Athena's Corner yet, you need to give this place a try for a great Greek experience!

The food was awesome - all of it. Owner came out and was super nice. Service was not good. Yes, we walked in late...20 minutes to closing...but the waitress took forever to even come to the table and was not very attentive. We will be back for the food and owner but the service definitely needs improvement.

Nice quaint place. Relatively the same set-up as the previous restaurant but is more homey with warm colors yet modern. Clean and bright. Same with bathrooms and outside. Ordered the Greek salad with Gyros meat. Came with a very light oil/wine vinegar dressing that was just enough (I liked) and not your standard Greek dressing. Had big chunky slices of green pepper, tomatoes, black olives and onions (which I opted out of as we are not friends). Nice mixed salad instead of just Romaine. Had a friendly slice of feta on it that you could break up as you so desired. Nice touch. Wasn't overpowering. However, disappointed that they do not have Peperoncinos - What??!! I come to Greek restaurants for some spicy Peperoncinos! The tomatoes also were a bit of a disappointment - Italians and Greeks should know a good tomato. I know our food source is no longer the best in the USA but I would like a red juicy one instead of a hard, light pink, flavorless one when getting a salad. It's the little things. I'm not an expert on Gyro meat but it was moist yet crisp which was tasty. It wasn't the best Greek salad I've ever had but also not bad either. So overall I'd give it a B for a lunch salad and the context of the meal. I ordered a side order of tzatziki for my pitta bread. Tasty and the pitta stayed soft and pliable while eating it. Monday/Tuesday half of wine bottle which I like to take advantage of. Had an interesting Greek wine Monograph that had a medium intensity and was pleasant. I do work where the wifi is and they were very accommodating, allowing me to be there for however long (I did say I ordered a bottle of wine, yes? ). The waitress was Haylee and she was the bomb (I believe I've seen her in another establishment before). Smart, personable, attentive and perceptive which helped when she's owning the place as the only wait person. She needs a raise or to become a manager at some point. Didn't have a dessert but may come back at some point as their list was long. I wish them luck and hope they remember to advertise to get folks in the corner of that complex and I can come back to try another dish.
