We recently spent two nights at the Athenian Foss. It was perfect for our needs. The staff was cheerful and very helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and plenty big for the two of us. The breakfast in the restauraunt downstairs was excellent. We even opted to have dinner there one night during our stay. |The location is great. A 12 minute walk to the Acropolis museum and within easy walking distance of Plaka and other sites as well. ||Yes, the elevator is small and quirky, but we were able to both fit in it at one time. We actually found it humorous to use.

We had 6 nights in the Athenian Foss the beginning of November. We stayed in grande suite, which was decent size room with a balcony and a good size bathroom. The bed was comfy and once we worked out the the air conditioning perfect temperature. Although the hotel is on a busy street there is no noise from this , we could hear the clock chimes from rhe cathedral, but this added to the stay. The hotel is in a great position and we walked every where with ease. We chose not to have the rather inclusive breakfast as we enjoy eating breakfast out in a city and there were plenty of places to go very close by. The hotel does not have any communal spaces which is one small draw back . What made it for us where the 3 receptionists, Eva, Dina and Denitsa( I hope I’ve spelt that correctly) all spoke excellent English and were exceptionally helpful. They gave us some excellent restaurant recommendations and booked the restaurant, they recommended a trip to the island of Aegina, booked the taxi and Eva walked us down to it. Their help and suggestions made the break very relaxing. We’d definitely recommend this hotel.

The two ladies at the reception were absolutely amazing — extremely helpful and spoke excellent English. We only stayed for one night, and the location was perfect and really convenient for us. Breakfast was available, but unfortunately, we didn’t have the chance to try it. The shampoo, shower gel etc. were average, but the room slippers were surprisingly comfortable! We also really liked having a balcony and being on the top floor. On the other hand; the showers looked a bit old and could use some maintenance. And I can't say it was sparkly clean. If we were staying longer, I’d probably look for a slightly more comfortable option.

Holy smokes, the level of exceptional service is amazing. Eva is a rock star. She helped us with every aspect of our stay in Greece and she is exceptionally kind to boot. Hotel is in a great location and the restaurant is fantastic. Rooms are smaller for a boutique hotel, and the staff really tries to go out of their way, at least this is what we experienced. They also arrange exceptional car service. Thank you Eva & the Athenian Foss.

Fantastic boutique hotel close to the plaka, shops and restaurants. Very safe area: I was travelling with five other girls but would thoroughly recommend for a woman travelling alone (or anyone else for that matter). I had a standard room which was really spacious with a clean modern bathroom. The staff were super lovely and could not do enough to help. A friend of ours was unwell and they arranged for a doctor to see her in the hotel when we arrived. Thourougly recommend would stay there again in a heart beat.

The hotel is in a very convenient location, making it easy to explore the area. The à la carte breakfast was very good and enjoyable, and the amenities provided were adequate for a comfortable stay. As a small suggestion, it might be even better to add a double lock on the door and to replace the mattress, as it has started to sag. Overall, it's a pleasant stay, and it's recommended

Located in the perfect spot for food and culture. A lovely walk through the plaka to the Acropolis, Athenian Foss welcomed us to Greece perfectly. The restaurant down below has wonderful staff and the best cappuccino I’ve ever had!! The hotel staff was kind and accommodating. Extremely comfortable bed beautifully designed. We love you!

It's not often I write a review before falling asleep on the first night. Great location is one thing -- and it's a great location-- but major red flags. First, I have yet to see anyone who actually works at the hotel. All interactions have been with waiters at the downstairs restaurant who are apparently not hotel staff. Our room keys had been left with them (we arrived at 8pm) to give to us. When I say the room is small, I am not exaggerating in the least. How can I explain... The room might be 15ft x 15ft x 15ft plus a bathroom (see the pictures to believe it). I would expect this from a hotel costing a QUARTER of the price I paid, but it seems someone slapped "boutique" on the description and suddenly felt justified in charging more than €200/night. Then when we immediately found our air conditioning didn't work (this was the end of August). The "reception" speed dial was answered by, you guessed it, the restaurant staff who gave us their best guess at how to work the thermostat ("maybe you have to close the balcony doors for it to work"-- hey, I tried it. Nope). After the third call, I requested to be moved to a room where the AC worked since no one would come up to help me. They then decided to call someone who knew what they were doing. Two call backs later, a woman said they had been aware that the top level ACs weren't working, but she hadn't been able to catch us before she went home. "It should all be resolved by tomorrow." Why am I finding out about this at 9pm? Why was I assigned a room without a working AC? Why did I have to play telephone to finally speak with you?? I requested a refund for the night without AC. She said she'd talk to *supervisor* in the morning. Very unhappy for the price I splurged on for a nice couple of days in Athens.
