Athens Backpackers

Athens Backpackers is fantastic. The location is unbelievable, its 5 minutes from the Acropolis, right next to the Metro station and you walk out and straight into Plaka. Syntagma station is just one stop away, so getting in and back to the airport is a breeze. Their free breakfast is quite generous and balanced with fresh fruit, cereal, cold cuts, cheese and bread. It makes for a great start to the day. The staff are friendly and warm, though they do have difficulty in managing the infrastructure, as they struggled to get the room heating under control for my room. Great compact and basic rooms with bedding included, and good loght blocking curtains so each capsule is private. Would help to have a simple chair in the room so wearing shoes and getting ready becomes easier. Their rooftop view of the Acropolis is just magical - completely unobstructed and makes a fantastic backdrop for a night beer.

Everything was perfect for me, I stayed for 4 nights. Clean room and toilet. No self bedding needed. Breakfast was enough for me. Location is very close to metro station and 5 to 15min walk to all sightseeings. Any time in Athens I book my bed here.

Just a brilliant hostel! The staff are super helpful. Allowed me to store my bike in the back garden and arranged a taxi to airport for me. Great breakfast. Rooftop bar with sunset views to Acropolis is just amazing. Comfortable beds.

The location is great, but the room was tiny and really uncomfortable. I tried to cancel because of how bad it was, but they refused due to their non-refundable policy. Not great for travelers who need a good night’s sleep. I hope the platform can improve their policies to better protect guests in situations like this.

Athens is the first city I chose to travel alone, because I think it’s safe for me. 2 days trip in Athens is definitely a good beginning, Backpackers always on the way. Looking forward to see you next time.

Really good Hostel. It is very clean. The free breakfast is amazing. Its just some steps from the acropolis station and very central. If they would put a hairdryer in the bathrooms it would be perfect. Also has a cool rooftop bar. A more younger audience.

The hotel reception staff (female one) were rude and indifferent, at the end she help us somehow but with an uncomfortable and rude attitude (although the problem they have to solve cause from the room itself). Moreover we just asked an additional request whether the request is possible or not. We really dont like the reaction that we faced with, as a customer who paid for the service. We were very surprised that a receptionist (female one), who is the primary point of contact for customer greeting and satisfaction, could be so rude to a customer and act in a way that made you feel uncomfortable. We had prefered this hostel by looking its Google points; but most of the hostels around here are more friendly and caring.And more smiling receptionist.

Cool place with nice people in a great safe area near the Acropolis. Two female travelers, we felt very safe. Clean and kind staff from around the world. A great little rooftop with stunning views of the Acropolis. And great breakfast! The hotels in other parts of Athens are in a bad (ugly, sketchy) neighborhood. This one is just a few steps from the metro and it’s a really easy transfer from/to the airport.
