Athens Capital Hotel - MGallery Collection

I stayed in Room 704 from October 24th to 26th, 2025, and absolutely loved every part of my experience. The hotel is amazing in every aspect — from its perfect location right on the most important square in Athens, within walking distance of the main attractions and shopping areas, to its beautiful interior design with attention to every small details. The staff are exceptional — very professional, genuinely friendly, and always ready to help. As an Accor Platinum member, I appreciated the automatic room upgrade and the lovely complimentary gift delivered to my room. The breakfast buffet is excellent and highly recommended. The rooftop pool and restaurant are charming, offering breathtaking views of the Acropolis and the city — a must-visit spot for sunset drinks or an early dinner. While I found the food at the rooftop restaurant to be quite average compared to its price, the ambiance and views more than make up for it. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Athens. It perfectly combines luxury, comfort, and warm hospitality in an unbeatable location.

I'm starting my review with the service as the staff deserve to be the headline. Every single member of staff that we encountered from the minute we arrived until the moment we left was exemplary. They were polite, efficient, helpful and attentive. The room was very nice with a firm, comfortable bed and a choice of pillows (firm or softer). The rooftop pool is a nice bonus in a city centre hotel. Not massive (maybe 12-14m in length) but enough to have a proper swim if you fancy it. Having a swim while seeing the Parthenon is a nice experience. As for food, we ate lunch once in the ground floor cafe and dinner once in the rooftop restaurant. The lunch was very good, the dinner in the restaurant was excellent - with a nice view of the Parthenon. The breakfast buffet had a wide range of offerings (cheeses, fruit, cold meats, smoked salmon, cereals yoghurt, as well as a hot buffet and also a great pastry selection). The hotel location is excellent, very close to Syntagma Square. It is a 10-15 minutes walk from the Acropolis and there are so many bars, cafes and restaurants in a 20 minute walk. It can be a bit noisy at night, but that's all part of staying smack in the centre of a vibrant city. I've stayed in Mgallery hotels before and enjoyed my stay in all of them (especially Versailles), but this is the best so far. In fact it's one of the best hotel experiences that I've had... and I've been to a lot of hotels.

A truly exceptional stay. I haven't been this impressed by a hotel in quite a while. The amenities provided for Platinum status were top-notch and made the stay very comfortable. The breakfast buffet offered a rich selection of high-quality food. A solid 5-star experience.

From the moment we arrived, our stay was nothing short of exceptional. Check-in was seamless and efficient. Although we arrived early and our room wasn’t quite ready, the wonderful front desk agents immediately offered to store our luggage so we could head out to explore the area and enjoy lunch without any hassle. When we returned, we were welcomed into a spotless room thanks to the excellent room attendants who maintained it beautifully throughout our stay. Every day the room was refreshed with meticulous attention to detail. The amenities provided were thoughtful and comprehensive, truly everything a guest could possibly need had already been considered. One of the absolute highlights was the turndown service. The level of care and thoughtfulness was beyond exceptional, there are simply no words to describe how blown away we were. The valet team also deserves the highest praise. Not only were they incredibly friendly and professional, but on the day of our departure, when nearby roads were closed for a fundraising run they went above and beyond to help us secure a taxi - walking us and our luggage down the road to meet the driver. That small but incredibly meaningful gesture left a lasting impression. This hotel has perfected the art of hospitality in every way. From the people to the service to the smallest of details, it was a flawless experience, and we cannot wait to return.

Wonderful hotel. Very nice rooms, very comfortable beds with very professional staff.Our stay at Athens Capitol was superb! Accommodations were excellent. House keeping was fabulous, they cleaned our room everyday completely. Breakfast every morning was excellent. Lots of choices, great service. You could not ask for more it was all ready there for you. This hotel has all of the i's dotted and t's crossed when it comes to service, cleanliness and accommodations, customer service. This hotel is waiting to serve its customers & you won't be disappointed if you visit. Do yourself a big favor and come visit Athens Capitol when visiting Athens, you won't regret it one bit! Thank you Athens Capitol for making our first visit to Athens, Greece fabulous!!! We will be back!!

The best thing about this hotel is the location- right in the middle of the Athens action, close to a number of museums, excellent shopping, and plenty of restaurants.||The hotel itself is attractively designed- I particularly enjoyed the quotes from famous women on each floor. My room was comfortable, with a comfortable bed, a retractable blind that kept out the light and noise of the city, and a good shower. Toiletries were Olivia Thinks- I'd not heard of them before, but the scent was divine.| |The rooftop terrace is especially attractive, with views of the Acropolis over the small infinity pool. ||Dinner in the downstairs Café was good, although on the expensive side- though that is to be expected in a capital city hotel. ||The staff were mostly lovely: porters were on hand to take our luggage from the taxi to storage (rooms aren't available until 3pm unless you're part of the loyalty programme, which feels rather corporate for what is otherwise a stylish hotel), then later up to our rooms, and back down again when we left. Reception staff were consistently helpful. ||At dinner my Mother accidentally broke glass over her food and her meal was replaced instantly, this was handled with friendly professional ease. Breakfast, however, was less impressive - we waited thirty minutes and asked three times for English Breakfast tea, which wasn't great when it finally arrived. ||Overall, a stylish and comfortable hotel in an unbeatable location, with a few service inconsistencies that stop it being perfect.

Everything was great. Friendly staff. Room was comfortable . Only comment would be the motion sensored light at the door went on and off a lot during the night while we were sleeping. Our bellman Lampros was amazing. He assisted us with all 3 of our large bags across the street to our awaiting transport. We appreciated this VIP treatment. Would stay again if we ever return to Athens!

First of all, I’ve booked the hotel through booking and they did double booking! The hotel was so kind although it was non refundable they gave us the money back! Which was amazing and so kind!!!! The service the room the location and the food everything was amazing!!!! The plus in this hotel that it’s close to everything but not too much center so it’s not so crowded! The service was amazing everyone was so kind and so welcoming! The hotel was super clean and there is a roof top that has a restaurant and amazing atmosphere!! Btw when we were there they did a Christmas party! Free drinks food and music we also got a bracelet gift! Thank you so so much we did enjoy it and we will comeback
