Athens Capital Hotel - MGallery Collection

My wife and I had an amazing four-night stay at Athens Capital Hotel, and the entire team consistently went above and beyond. From the driver who picked us up at the airport, to the concierge at reception, the cleaners, and the restaurant staff – everyone was outstanding. The hotel is perfectly located, just a 5–15 minute walk to all the main areas, making it ideal for exploring the city. It’s also extremely well maintained and spotless. I especially loved the sauna and Hammam, which felt very private and were in like-new condition.

The location is truly ideal for exploring the city. The cleanliness is excellent, and the rooms are thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need. The breakfast is healthy and more than sufficient. It met all of my expectations, and I was very satisfied with my stay. The room featured an automatic espresso machine, an iron and ironing board, a safe, a well-stocked mini fridge, slippers and a bathrobe, as well as both solid and liquid soap. The bed linen and pillowcases were clean, and the towels were fresh, clean, and odour-free. I would definitely stay here again.

There is a reason this hotel is so highly rated. It is extremely-well located -- directly across from the Grand Bretagne and a 3 min walk from the Syntagma Square metro station. The rooms are contemporary, spacious, quiet, luxurious and clean. |There was a welcome amenity of chocolates and wine in my room upon my arrival; each night a very generous turn down amenity of food was left as well as lovely wrapped sweet treats. Staff at the front desk were friendly and very helpful. |The hotel is smack dab in the centre of the city my room was extremely quiet. The bed was comfortable with several plump pillows. Fluffy bathrobe and comfy slippers were provided. Room was thoroughly cleaned every day and amenities were re-stocked.|Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Lovely view of the Acropolis from the restaurant terrace (recommend having dinner here 1 night -- book with the concierge).|The doormen had an issue 1 morning getting a cab to the ferry terminal, thankfully I still made my ferry. That was the only hiccup during my otherwise flawless stay. |I took the metro from the airport -- super easy. Going back to the airport I took the city airport bus located across the street, on Syntagma Square.|Easily walkable to all sites in Athens; many, many amazing restaurants located within a few minutes walking distance. |I would definitely stay here again and recommend without hesitation.

The room was beautiful, spacious and luxurious, but the room was called a Deluxe suite, which we felt it was not, more like a very nice, (large) standard room. Location of the hotel could not be better, with a beautiful view and proximity to the must sees in Athens, and the pool... wow, heated and amazing to swim and watch the Acropolis in the background. A little pricy, but you sure have to pay for experiences like this. Staff, from the moment you enter the hotel to the moment you leave, the staff will make every minute as pleasant as you dream of. Very professional. Very clean and tidy everywhere and nicely decorated for the season. The only minor drawback was street noise at night, but it did not ruin our sleep in the fantastic bed with a pillow menu to choose from.

Strategic location for visiting the historic center and the Acropolis, along one of the busiest roads. Very nice hotel with super friendly reception. The rooms are spacious, clean and very well-maintained, staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast is excellent on the top floor with a lovely glassed-in veranda. I would recommend rooms that don't face the main road to avoid the chaotic traffic noise (traffic is probably Athens' main problem). Thank you for the hospitality

I stayed in Room 704 from October 24th to 26th, 2025, and absolutely loved every part of my experience. The hotel is amazing in every aspect — from its perfect location right on the most important square in Athens, within walking distance of the main attractions and shopping areas, to its beautiful interior design with attention to every small details. The staff are exceptional — very professional, genuinely friendly, and always ready to help. As an Accor Platinum member, I appreciated the automatic room upgrade and the lovely complimentary gift delivered to my room. The breakfast buffet is excellent and highly recommended. The rooftop pool and restaurant are charming, offering breathtaking views of the Acropolis and the city — a must-visit spot for sunset drinks or an early dinner. While I found the food at the rooftop restaurant to be quite average compared to its price, the ambiance and views more than make up for it. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Athens. It perfectly combines luxury, comfort, and warm hospitality in an unbeatable location.

We were a three-generation group of 10 visiting Greece, and Athens Capital was our first stop. Rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable, and lovely to have interconnecting options. The service at the pool and breakfast was so friendly. We found the location perfect for exploring the sites and local surroundings. I also love the Dolli but the value for money at Athens Capital is much better. The Grand Bretagne (a 2 minute walk away) has a much more old-world atmosphere; while very elegant, I prefer the more modern, clean feel of the Capital. One warning: they are often very full, so if you need early check-in/late check-out, make sure you book the night before or after.

I'm starting my review with the service as the staff deserve to be the headline. Every single member of staff that we encountered from the minute we arrived until the moment we left was exemplary. They were polite, efficient, helpful and attentive. The room was very nice with a firm, comfortable bed and a choice of pillows (firm or softer). The rooftop pool is a nice bonus in a city centre hotel. Not massive (maybe 12-14m in length) but enough to have a proper swim if you fancy it. Having a swim while seeing the Parthenon is a nice experience. As for food, we ate lunch once in the ground floor cafe and dinner once in the rooftop restaurant. The lunch was very good, the dinner in the restaurant was excellent - with a nice view of the Parthenon. The breakfast buffet had a wide range of offerings (cheeses, fruit, cold meats, smoked salmon, cereals yoghurt, as well as a hot buffet and also a great pastry selection). The hotel location is excellent, very close to Syntagma Square. It is a 10-15 minutes walk from the Acropolis and there are so many bars, cafes and restaurants in a 20 minute walk. It can be a bit noisy at night, but that's all part of staying smack in the centre of a vibrant city. I've stayed in Mgallery hotels before and enjoyed my stay in all of them (especially Versailles), but this is the best so far. In fact it's one of the best hotel experiences that I've had... and I've been to a lot of hotels.
