We had the pleasure of staying at the Marriott Athens twice during a trip to Greece in July 2025. Location is convenient with just a few minutes drive to the Acropolis. ||The rooms are clean with very comfortable beds and a great AC system. For the second stay we got upgraded to a huge suite on the top floor. We enjoyed the rooftop pool and had a lovely lunch at the poolside restaurant. The breakfast buffet had a very wide variety of food options and everything was delicious. ||However, the favorite part of our stay was the welcoming and helpful staff, especially Mary Ann, the restaurant hostess manager, who was exceptionally attentive to my husband’s food allergies and the concierge manager Yiannis who made us feel like family and went out of his way to quickly book a wonderful restaurant for our first night in Athens and arrange transportation for our family of 6.| |We hope to visit this property again soon!

We stayed at the Athens Marriott during our post-cruise extension for two days. Overall a decent stay, but I probably wouldn’t stay there again. ||The food was good – we only ate breakfast and lunch there. The breakfast buffet was quite good with an array of hot food (buffet style as well some made to order) breads, sweet treats, fruit and cereal. ||The rooms – |The beds were not comfortable at all – I think they had a fluffy bed topper which only made you slide off the side of the bed, please get rid of those, not needed and not functional.||The TV was very limited with channels – a few international channels in English or some movie or TV streaming options would be good, there was none.||The shower – not a regular traditional shower head attached to the wall, it’s one of those that are handheld and completely awkward to properly shower – please change those to regular shower head that are fixed high up on the wall.||They do have a free shuttle that runs every hour to the city center of Athens, so that was very convenient.||The best part of our stay however was Mary Ann (sp?). She worked in the restaurant area/hospitality management of some sort and was absolutely delightful! She was very friendly and helpful the entire time we were there and always a smile on her face. I was traveling with my sister and our Dad was Filipino – it was wonderful to speak and share memories and love of certain Filipino food and culturisms with her. She is a treasure!!

The Athens Marriott is a beautiful hotel, but what truly makes it unforgettable is the service and staff. From the moment I arrived, Mary Ann went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. She is, without a doubt, the heart of the Athens Marriott. Her warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made every interaction a joy. She has that rare gift of making guests feel like family, always greeting everyone with a sincere smile and anticipating needs before you even have to ask. Mary Ann isn’t just good at her job—she’s extraordinary, and she’s the number one reason my stay is always so memorable. I also want to thank Harry and Nikos, who are both always incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Their energy and dedication to excellent service never goes unnoticed, and they both truly add to the wonderful experience. Together, Mary Ann, Nikos and Harry exemplify the high standards and hospitality that make the Athens Marriott stand out among the best hotels in the world. I can’t recommend this hotel enough, and I look forward to returning—especially to see the amazing and beautiful Mary Ann again.

We loved our stay at Athena Marriott hotel. Everyone was very helpful and answered any questions we had! Anne gave us a lot of great traditional Greek recommendations too! I would recommend staying here! They have a free shuttle running every hour to town center which was very convenient. Room was very clean, service was excellent!

A Memorable Stay at Athens Marriott ✨ I’ve been fortunate to travel around the world and stay at many hotels, but the Athens Marriott truly stood out — thanks in large part to one exceptional staff member, Mary Ann. Her warm, genuine smile is contagious, and it’s clear she truly loves what she does. Despite the busy hours, she remained friendly, helpful, and composed, making every guest feel welcome. She even recommended we dine at E&O Restaurant at the rooftop garden — and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious, the ambiance was amazing, and the service was excellent. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and I appreciated the hotel’s location — just outside the busy city center, offering a peaceful stay with the convenience of a shuttle bus service. I highly recommend this hotel, and amazing staff like Mary Ann. 🥰

We stayed at Athens Marriott twice during our travels. I considered changing hotels after our first stay due to service but wanted to give it another opportunity, as we are loyal Marriott members. When we checked in during our first stay, we arrived prior to check-in time. We were notified check-in is at 3 so we waited. At 3, we went back to check-in and room was not ready, even though we were told 2 hours prior that it would be. We waited an additional 45 minutes before we were provided our room. During 2nd stay, we were assigned in a different room than what we reserved. When we entered the room, it had not been cleaned. Dirty towels on bathroom floor and dirty dishes and napkins in room. We contacted front desk who stated that the room showed clean in system and they would check and call back. 15 minutes past, and someone came to the room and let us know that they gave us wrong room and provided other keys. Overall, rooms are fine but service is terrible.

This Athens Marriott is awesomely great to stop at. The staff, especially Mary Ann, and the staff at reception are courteous and very professional and knowledgeable. Great people to look after you. This hotel is so wonderful that most airlines stopping in Athens have contracted with them to have their flight crews stay here. I am totally amazed - the hotel, the staff and service are most amazingly of the highest value and quality. Well done ✅ the managers and staff and their staff are multiple cultural. Thank you for your superb service

Marriott Athens is honestly one of the best Marriott hotels I’ve ever stayed at! The service from the staff is top-notch, but I have to give a special shoutout to Mary Ann, the hostess at the breakfast area and in the lobby. She’s amazing—always smiling, super helpful, and speaks multiple languages! She really made my stay extra special with her warm and friendly vibe. The breakfast buffet was also delicious with so many great options. Overall, a fantastic experience—can’t wait to come back!
