My favorite breakfast place! Love the workers! They are so kind and flexible about allergies and children. They have amazing French toast and biscuits and gravy. To top it off they have the cheapest and best cake you've ever had! The decorations are also so unique and fun to look through, even have a play area for kids. Definitely worth a try if you're in the canton area!

My wife and I went there for a later breakfast on a Saturday. Food was good and the service was phenomenal. Great family joint that I am happy to come back to. I love the eclectic decorations as well!

My favorite Canton spot. Right around the corner from Aultman Hospital. Perfect if you're looking for something home cooked. Great breakfast and burgers but you really need to try one of their Greek specials that's typically on the lunch menu. The Pastitsio is amazing! Not sure what's better..the food or the people.

Fresh made great tasting food at the right price. Gyro platter was very filling, and the frys were done correctly, just brown enough. The Club sandwich was done right with ham and turkey, and cut in two, not four, pieces which made it easy to eat. They have a funky décor and places for kids to play, while the adults eat.

Fantastic food with generous portions! Walking into this restaurant is like walking into a little cafe in Greece! The atmosphere is fun and quirky, the service was so friendly and attentive as well! I think I found my local Greek spot and I’m so excited to come back and try dessert!

Absolutely love this place! The gyro bowls are fantastic. All the desserts here are incredible. Our favorites are the baklava, the honey walnut cookies and the ekmek.

Good food, eclectic decor. Service was good maybe a little slow but very friendly. My wife is handicapped so very cramped place. Very difficult for her to use the restroom.

Very nice. I had been wanting to come here for a long time so finally we got up off the couch and went. We were not disappointed. I really wanted the spinach feta pie, but they were out, so I got the tuna pita instead, which was wonderful. I was there with a party of five (including my child) and everyone was really happy with their meals. The service was fantastic and friendly. My parents were a little late arriving, so my son enjoyed playing in the little toy kitchen set-up they had in the corner. (He found dinosaurs in one of the containers, so he was in his element.) What a great distraction for the kiddos, along with coloring books and crayons. We all had dessert too and while I didn't get to try the baklava, I think among all of the others the limoncello was my favorite. Very cool ambiance. As for the decor, it is cluttered and quirky and very Greek. Loved every corner. Even some historic politicians were enjoying the food and the ambiance. Opa!

This place is so much fun! Wax figures and hilarious signs populate the tables and walls of this gem. Funny and down to earth staff keep the energy right, and the Greek food is terrific. The flaming cheese was an "Opa" inducing spectacle for the whole restaurant to marvel. And it tasted great! As did the Athens fries (it's amazing what a little vinaigrette and feta can do)! The gyro also did not disappoint. My wife ordered a Turkey melt, which she thought was okay. I think the lesson is to order Mediterranean from a Mediterranean restaurant, and you won't be disappointed.

Fun, eclectic restaurant with a fun and friendly staff! We started out with flaming cheese which was delicious. Then we split the gyro bowl and the special was pastitsio. Both were healthy portions and very tasty. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The fun decor is a plus - you need to see it!!

Can't leave Canton without eating at Athens. Good home cooked meals and fantastic, personalized service. Ambiance is a must see! Don't leave Canton without visiting this place first breakfast or lunch!

My family and I love eating at Athens. We usually eat there at least once a week. Everyone who works at Athens is so nice and the food is amazing!!

We were introduced here by Frankie and Lyndie who are locals in the area, (we're from Florida) and we were not disappointed whenever we visited Ohio we always had to be here and enjoyed their awesome food, the staff were all amazing, accommodating and always had smiles on their faces and it showed how they love to be working there. Food so great, ambience so unique and interesting. I even bought one of their t - shirt. it. We will never get tired coming to this awesome restaurant. Thanks so much everyone.

Amazing food! Amazing service! The "sex on the beach" dessert was amazing! I LOVED IT ALL!

At first we were a little weary walking in and at first seeing human like props of an old woman and man at the front room table, later to learn that the props and old fashioned-homely feel of the restaurant kept a smile on our faces throughout the whole experience from start to end. Service was great, the young sweet girl serving coffee was on point and the family feel was awesome and just the whole environment within the restaurant was well worth the visit which made the food taste so much more richer and delicious. We came all the way from Maui, Hawaii and we loved the experience. A place to remember for a lifetime, for sure. I hope this place stay opens forever. Mahalo, Ohana Artates (Awakea & Erica)

Best Greek food in town. Not open for dinner though. Traditional Greek cuisine. I love the Gyro platter for lunch.

Found my favorite Greek dish, Pistachio as a lunch special. Very good. The Christmas decorations were great. Service was very attentive.

February 3, 2023 @ 12:20p.m. My best friend, Marti, had lunch together at Athens Restaurant today on this freezing cold bitter day. The Flamming Cheese was so delicious and Kim lit the bread with a squeeze of lemon. It was really neat! We had a nice time as we shared on 'what would be her mother's 96th Birthday!" What a great memory to have with my school teacher friend. A place of warmth, laughter (with all the funny quotes on the wall) and great food, service and fun! We will definitely be back to visit. Came with local clients for lunch and had the Athens small salad with gyro. Pretty typical. The waitress recalled both my guests lunch favorites. I duplicated their order. Boring, but functional. I returned after lunch for a Greek Coffee and "GalacticBooty" (spelling phonetically)...wonderful dessert recommended by owner extraordinaire, the Deva Demetria, or just "D." Meeting the owner of any establishment is a special treat for every diner: Meeting Demetria is a Privilege and Honor. Within the walls of her Athens, you experience her soul. Delightful! Ask her to read your fortune in your coffee; but be prepared for a surprise. The Oracle will Speak!

I have always loved this place, from the eclectic furnishings to the food to the staff and lovely owner! Unfortunately, I don't get to frequent Athens as much I did at one time, but my visit today was right in line with every memory I have there. My favorite staff member, Tasha, gave us great service, as well as her warm personality. All of the staff was very nice. Great hires! The gyros! I love their gyros! (No matter how it's pronounced.) We ended by taking an order of baklava to go and introduced my in-laws to the best baklava ever this evening. Love this place!

Every time I visit Canton I eat at Athens. Last time I visited Canton for three days and ate at Athens everyday for lunch. The food is delicious (the Greek Bowl and Greek Salad are my fave) and the service is super friendly and quick. My favorite place in Canton!

Visiting in town and came across this place. Food was on par. Service was great and the Baklava (First Time) was awesome. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent Greek food. The quality is high and the cost is low. The decor is hard to describe, but it is a warm welcoming place. The staff are very attentive and friendly. My colleague and I came to Canton several times over three months and hit the restaurant every trip because the food was so good. Look at the daily specials, we had several over our visits and they were all excellent.

For one the staff here is the best in town, the food is great and comes out at a good time, the restaurant it self is classic old Greek style and nice

I had a taste for a chicken salad at 6am. Called around and this is the only restaurant in the area who would make me one. The atmosphere is great. The owner and everyone inside was extremely nice. The food was EXCELLENT! This place is FIVE STARS! I will be frequenting here from now on.

Went to Athens Restaurant for the first time ever on Saturday for breakfast. The waitress was welcoming, the service was fast, the omelet was excellent and the price was very modest in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. I cannot wait to go back. A number of other customers said 'good morning' as well, telling me that going here is generally an uplifting experience for the regulars. This was a very encouraging outing in the world of rude people, bland food and high prices. I should have gone here 50 years ago and been a lifelong regular myself.

Had a taste for a salad and decided on a salad named The Village ,Came with a dinner roll and it was probably one of the better salads l have ate in a long time .Dont slip on this one

I have been visiting Athens restaurant for a number of years and it reminds me of the atmosphere of the show "Cheers, where everyone knows your name." Great and friendly people where you can go and relax, have fun, enjoy the food and friends.

I work at this place the environment is so nice there is time to joke around and when we get busy all the workers are on top of everything love this job will have it for the rest of my life.

This place is great! In town on business and it is close to my client. Glad I checked it out. Very good atmosphere, price and service. Had the Gyro, it was really good. Look forward to coming back and trying something else.

Popped over from Aultman on a whim. Went with a few friends who visit Greece often. We all loved our meals; we suggest the Gyro Bowl, Greek BLT and the Baklava.

I felt like I was back in Athens...in 1974! So the decor. I was a little confused when I first visited here and ate at the what could best be described as the diner. The rest of the decor is also dated, the seats are a little tight in the booths, and there's creepy little dolls/statues/mascots(?) positioned randomly around the restaurant. So you may have seen that I gave this 5 stars. Well, that's because who really cares what it looks like. It's down the street from the steel mill. All I want is nice servers and good food, and Athens delivers. The greek salad is probably a 10/10 for me, with amazing dressing, amazing feta, and enough cucumber and tomatoes to really hit the spot. It's not authentic Greek salad, it does have lettuce, but it's exactly what people expect in the US. The gyro was a 8/10, which is great because there's no gyro spots within a reasonable distance from home. Pita was fresh, as were the ingredients. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive, and even replaced my napkin when she noticed mine fell on the ground.

Lunch special fried cod fish was as good as claimed by our friendly waitress. Almost as good as the customer service... our fish came out before our salads, no big deal but the manager was paying attention and willing to take our meals back and redo them... we declined but she twisted our arms to give us a little treat: baklava a la mode! Very good. If you give Athens a go, get this even if your salad is on time!

Stumbled upon this place. Parking lot was packed at lunch so we decided to give it a try. The working man's restaurant. Timken, AEP, Aultman rubbing elbows with the nearby seniors. Love the home style diner decor. Small Grecian salad was basic. I had hoped for a more seasoned chicken for the topper. House dressing was good. Gyro platter was good as well. Not terribly generous on the gyro meat.l though.

We woke up craving breakfast on Saturday morning, and this place immediately popped to mind. It's a bit off the beaten path, but don't let the location deter you! Inside, it is warm, inviting, and everything you would want from a breakfast joint. We each got hotcakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs -- I had Kara's Favorite, to be exact, with the whole wheat hot cakes. They were delicious and fresh -- slightly crispy, yet still melted in your mouth. I got mine with a side of blueberry topping which hit the spot. All in all -- $15.00 + tip, bottomless coffee, and great service on a Saturday morning? Can't really go wrong with that! Give it a try before you head to IHOP or Bob Evans.

what a great place. literally from the second i walked in the door i felt welcomed. as the sign behind the bar says "enter as strangers, leave as friends" the staff were all spectacular, and the large grecian salad with gyro meat was the best i've ever had. what a great find. i'm from out of town, here on business. i will make sure i return during my next trip to canton.

I love this little restaurant I take my daughter here before school in the mornings always fast and friendly service and they have a little play area for kids with dress up, make believe and color. Great place a delicious authentic GREEK FOOD

This Canton, Ohio landmark serves an outstanding breakfast and Greek food. The gyro salad is fantastic and they have all sorts of lunch specials every day, most Greek entrees. Everything is homemade and I haven't had one bad thing yet. Try the flaming cheese appetizer - OPA!! It's outstanding. You'll come as a guest and leave a family. Wonderful family atmosphere and service. Loads of homemade deserts, too!! My ONLY complaint... The creepy people-looking doll things creep me out.

This place is pretty solid from service to food. Greek salad is amazing, gyros prefect, flaming cheese (saganaki) is the best you will find around canton.

Really good food and service at a moderate price. My wife had the Ruben and said it was fantastic. I had the gyro and it was equally as good. Would definitely come back.

My boyfriend and I LOVE this place! The flaming cheese appetizer is to die for, and the rest of the food is delicious, and fresh. And we've never had bad service. Love love love.

Everything is good here including the service. Don't limit yourself to Greek food. The daily specials are always delicious. The fish is delicious. The deserts are wonderful. Prices are fair.

I have loved this place for years...great food, great service, great atmosphere. I occasionally stop in to get some tzatziki sauce to go. $5 a pint. No big deal. Stopped in to get the tzatziki and was charged $10 for a pint container that wasn't even full! Will NEVER spend another penny there again or recommend anyone to go there again!

I do alot of traveling with my job and I was sent to work at Marathon Refinery in Canton, Ohio. One of inspectors took me to Athens and let me tell you it was a great place for food and the ambiance was the best. The staff was just wonderful they took real good care of us. Whenever I am on the road I am always on the look out for good local food. My clients took me this place for lunch and let me tell you this place gets five stars for its gyros and baklava. I can see that it is very popular with the locals. It is extremely cheap too. I haven't found a place like this in the pacific northwest yet, can some one please send me some baklava until I find one here!

I Have worked in Canton for the past four years and I'm not sure why I haven't stopped into this little gem until just recently. My wife picked me up after work and we were on the hunt for some decent breakfast food and let me tell you it didn't disappoint! The inside is VERY clean which you can't help but notice coming from outside in the dirtball Southwest end of Canton. Service was fast and friendly. There were mostly locals and the waitress seemed to call all of them by name. I had the Greek omelet which didn't skimp on the feta and my wife had the pancakes which were average for a breakfast joint and on the bigger side. The coffee was prompt and kept coming! To seal the deal two Cops came in to eat as we were leaving so you know it's a Great place to eat! We would return and recommend to any weary soul searching for food in Canton.
