Atherton Blue Gum

This was for sure the most authentic stay of our trip. The beautiful wooden house is cosy and nicely cool and the service is impeccable. Fresh fruits, coffee, all is provided. For us this was more than just a stay, it was an unforgetable experience. Fantastic!

We stayed here in June and really enjoyed our time at this accommodation. The staff was absolutely lovely and was very willing to help us out. Also, the room itself was pretty nice. It had its own bathroom and was clean upon arrival. Moreover, outside the room a small kitchen was available. It is perfectly suitable for cooking simple dishes and there was a fridge that you could use to store the food. All in all, it was a great stay, but it was mostly the cheerful and helpful nature of the staff that made it such.

Matt is a legend. The outlook he has for the future will bring this absolutely to a 5 star. Entering and exiting by car is a bit tight but since it's a quiet street, perfectly manageable. The references he gave us for breakfast and dinner were top notch.

Very last minute request after 7pm, but yet Matt bend over backwards to get us a room. Lots of accommodation not available after 5/6pm, matt was the only one who answered my phone call. Once we reached the place, he made sure we had everything and also offered lunch the following day. He was really kind and shared lots of interesting stories with us! A true gem out there!

Really enjoyed my 3-night stay here. The new owner Matt is lovely and always happy to help. Room is spacious and very clean. Location is only a few minutes drive away from Atherton centre. The only less than ideal thing I can think of is the tight parking spaces, but overall really good. Will definitely come back!

There’s a lot to love about Atherton Blue Gum. Firstly Matt is a genuinely lovely human who is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the shared kitchen has everything you need for a great stay. Lovely quiet location with amazing sunsets from the deck. Excellent value for money. Good large room and bathroom. Nice garden outlook. Owner was understanding in accommodating us and organized a room at short notice.

The rooms were well appointed and nice and clean. Matt the owner was super friendly and gave me some great local knowledge about where to go and what to see. I’ll be back!
