This Charming Vancouver Fishing Village Is Worth the Detour

"A regenerative, organic farm that hosts summer and fall weekend pop-up markets offering its own produce, herbs, and flowers alongside cold-pressed juices, plant-based foods, and handmade ceramics; the farm also stages seasonal special events, including chef-driven dinners featuring notable guest chefs." - Bianca Bujan

Very nice venue for a Sunday Market. Good facilities with proper temporary washrooms and hand washing stations. Looking forward to more businesses joining the market.

Lots of flowers (and very well maintained). The space is very well-curated but there’s not much to see besides the flowers. There’s a small undercover stall that sells produce. Would be nice if there’s a stall for coffee or refreshments. But it looks like an amazing wedding venue. We spent under an hour here - while it was very nice, there’s not much to do so wouldn’t recommend coming all the way here!

I stopped by the Athiana Acres pop up at Le Crocodile to pick up a harvest box. They hadn’t arrived yet, but Kalen took my number and offered to text me when they arrived. He let me know when the boxes had arrived and walked one to my building instead of me having to go back. He also included some extra floral stems- it was a lovely surprise. The quality of the items in the harvest box was also amazing! I would definitely purchase again.

Awesome place- that is great for the community- the market was an amazing place for local businesses to showcase their stuff. We live in the area and honestly you can hardly hear the music from the street when weddings are hosted.

Extremely loud private parties with no regard for their neighbours. Blasting bass heavy music for hours on end, screaming, and rude owner. The noise issue with the farm is not isolated to the most recent event that went on for 4-5 days and countless hours, even surpassing the legal time limits without any warning to the surrounding neighbours. The noise pollution in the area has increased exponentially since the farm arrived. Constant machines running, overuse of power tools for frequent maintenance (creating both noise and fume pollution) that borders on being needless because of how often it happens, occurrences of yelling, fireworks, other special events, projecting music into an open field, use of insanely bright spotlights, and general noise. This behaviour is not only rude and inconsiderate to the thousands of people who live in the area, but can also be potentially very damaging to the animals that depend on the area for habitation. This is not sustainable and not how AG land should be used. Edit: The responses from the farm to the negative reviews are laughable. Them “truly trying their best” seems to add up to being rude to anyone who tried to voice concern, consistently hosting events past the legal time with hours of noise over the legal decibels, and creating consistent noise. Weekends and week days alike. AG land is only allowed to have 10 events within a years time and this past year they host twice that amount. The farm built without permits. According to Richmond.ca “The property, known as Athiana Acres, was reportedly conducting business activities and events that were non-compliant with the permitted operations on ALR-designated land” as well as a list of other violations. Police have been called to the property countless times.

I will miss Athiana’s Saturday offerings until spring arrives, but I was absolutely delighted with their produce box that can be purchased on an ongoing basis through their website. The quality and quantity of the produce was such an excellent value! Everything was so fresh. This farm is gem! So happy it’s just steps away from home- BONUS! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great local farmers creating a sustainable farm for the community by the community. Beautiful flowers and delicious produce. I was pleasantly surprised eating at some of the lower mainlands best restaurants only to find out the produce was supplied by the folks at Athiana Acres. Support your local farmers and visit one of their markets.
