We ate dinner here while driving from The Isle of Skye via Inverness to Dunkeld. We were looking for traditional decor and food, “we” being my husband and I and our three 20-something children. We arrived half an hour before closing. There were just a few people left, but our server (from Sri Lanka) and barman (Grant) were wonderful. Friendly and attentive. Kept our drinks full and were right there with anything we could need. The food was excellent. We ordered the steak and ale pie, Madras curry, two orders of the mince and tatties, Cullen Skink, and the Vrates (?) dish. Plus two sticky toffees for afters. All of it was served piping hot (except the pudding, which was appropriately warm). Even the bread served with the soup was perfect. As they were serving us, our server and barman answered some of our questions about the area, the food, the drinks and were just ideal for what we wanted as first-time tourists to the area. All in all, it was lovely.

Have stayed at Hotel previously, currently two weeks self-catering. Called at Reception last night to ask advice when your member of staff Caroline could not have been more helpful! She is a real credit to your hotel and a great ambassador for it. She has in fact caused us to decide that in future we would be more likely to stay at the Atholl Arms and certainly to recommend it to others! Would appreciate you forwarding our comments to Caroline, many thanks.

Stopped here for lunch during a break in Perthshire.|Food was excellent; proper home made soups and delicious main courses, with an extensive choice of dishes.|The sole member of staff was friendly, attentive (without being too attentive!), competent and seemed to be genuinely enjoying his work.|Would definitely recommend if looking for somewhere to eat in the area.

Having driven a long way from Manchester, we were treated like a nuisance to the reception lady. Customer service at its lowest. Having been given a time for dinner, we were so rushed and pushed to decide what we should eat 🤷🏼‍♂️. The staff were raising their voice in the process (possibly cause of the colour of our skin). Never have we experienced such low treatment. The rooms were old and dusty, the door got jammed and were locked in, until a friend got the reception to come open. She was fuming saying there’s nothing wrong with the lock 🤷🏼‍♂️? The bathroom has not been cleaned.. the soap container was filthy. Food too was not to the price they charge. Highly over rated and in fact should be asked to close down. WILL NEVER GO AGAIN AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO.

We visited here on our way to Orkney. We were just passing through in the Campervan. The staff all were brilliant and really friendly. The outdoor garden is perfect and relaxing. We had a meal and a few drinks in the main bar area and it was great. Casein chicken was brilliant and the bar staff were friendly. Definitely call again

So firstly the staff are an absolute credit to the hotel, friendly, helpful and just very welcoming, EXCELLENT. Now, the downstairs reception and lounge area offer an old world charm and feels and smells like a hotel should. Dogs are welcome and there are free treats and bowls of water in the garden, which is a lovely place to sit. The bar is great, a bit on the small side and I really do think it could be expanded into whatever the ghastly “scene” is of mannequins in an attempt to show how old the hotel is. The dining rooms are lovely, yes they look a bit tired but this a huge building and to be honest it adds to the ambience. We stayed one night and had a superior room. Firstly the bathroom was obviously newly renovated and was immaculate. The shower is over the bath, but beware, the bath is slippery (I did put the mat down) but it needs a hand rail and the water pressure (had to be on eco) for the shower is poor. However, it’s a lovely immaculate bathroom with toiletries and great towels . The bedroom was a disappointment. A huge bed which should have been great and 3 lots of pillows each but it was uncomfortable and I ended up sleeping on a pile of towels for comfort. Why is there a stuffed lamb on the bed? The room needs updating and decorating, it was lovely and clean and the hospitality tray was great, a big tick for the proper sized kettle and mugs. Breakfast was excellent, again friendly and warm staff, serving toast and a choice of breakfasts with tea or coffee and juice. I can’t fault it. I’d absolutely go back for a drink or a meal in a heartbeat, we had a great night and really liked the barmen.

We really enjoyed our stay, the hotel is charming and traditional (although some will say it’s a bit dated). Great hospitality, excellent home-made food and drinks (local cask ales, good selection of gin and whisky) and really nice location (quiet village surronded by hills with a few rivers flowing by). If you’re after more lively environment, the town of Pitlochry is 10 mins away on the train (the station is outside the hotel). Hope that helps.

Just spent a very enjoyable weekend here along with a large group of friends. The staff were friendly, the food excellent and the rooms were clean. The surroundings are superb.

Yelp
Good food, great location, lovely ambience. We happened to walk in on a lovely weather day and opted to sit outside but they also had snug seating and larger tables inside. Service was good but we ordered at the bar and they delivered our lunch order outside. Fish and chips was excellent and a very healthy portion size!

Yelp
Europe 2023 - Scotland Not many choices in this town Blair for food and the place we chose was closed, so happy to find anyplace with food. But this Pub is at the Arms Hotel right at the train exit. FAST Food: I broke down and got the Hamburger with fried egg. This was a solid burger! Tasty and filling. Came with string fries too. We also got the Mac & Cheese, which were also very good, which came with thicker steak chips! Atmosphere: Scottish pub feel, old tables with cushion bench chairs. Lots of antlers on the wall and pictures of deers. The pub area was pretty full too, so we might have gotten lucky! Service: Excellent, we were sat down quickly and beer/food orders taken quickly. Tip: sit in the pub side. Order the Belhaven Ale

Yelp
Dropped into the pub for a pint after a cold day of hiking in Perthshire. Delightful and warm, this pub gave this tourist the quintessential Scottish pub experience.

Yelp
Well, let's start with something positive. The bar is nice, the staff is great! They have a good choice of beers and whiskey and an outstanding choice of local ales and Gin. You can spend a great evening here drinking. But stay away from the food! We hab Fish & Chips and a Burger. The fish & chips were the worst I ever had in Scotland. Maybe the fat was old or not hot enough. The chips were soaked with fat and jelly. The mushy peas cold. The poor haddock who had to do for that.... But the burger was even worse. It was a deep frozen patty and looked and tasted like fried sawdust... But again, in Scotland you'll have a high standard in pub food, we have been really disappointed. But again, it's a great bar with great staff. They should just think about their food concept...

Yelp
We only had a drink here at the end of a long walk through the beautiful Glen Tilt, so it's a bit difficult to fully review the place. But it seemed like a nice pub with traditional decor and lots of little alcovey bits where you could sit and have your apres walk pint. The staff coped well with the sudden influx of about 40 walkers, and we were served reasonably quickly. We had a little look at the menu, and there were plenty of veggie options, and some that could be vegan, so if I'm in the area again, I'd definitely have a meal here to try it out.

Yelp
Coffee delivered very quick. Nice highland feel to the Hotel, from the tartan carpets to the ornate wooden panelling. The lounge area is quite dark and has to be lit during the day, but quite a busy wee place to stop into after a walk through Blair Castle Estate. Next time I will stop for food and a beer.
