The Atix is a modern, hip boutique hotel in Calacoto, an upscale neighborhood located in the southern part of La Paz. It is, overall, a great choice if you’re looking for stylish and comfortable accommodations in a nicer part of the city at a great price. Our experience was mostly great, until we nearly missed our flight to Uyuni due to a concierge failure to reserve our airport transportation. ||The rooms were comfortable and quite spacious with large windows and decent window coverings. One of the windows had a roll up shade that kept getting twisted. There were no blackout shades but they were sufficient to keep out most of the city lights at night. The bathrooms and showers were clean, modern, and fairly basic and adequate. The room had some of the other usual amenities such as a safe and closet but no minibar or Nespresso or tea machines. ||While there was no restaurant at the hotel, there was a very comfortable and spacious breakfast area. The breakfast included some local breads, cheeses, and meats, fruit, granola, yogurt, and eggs, bacon, and potatoes. An assortment of fresh juices, tea, coffee, and coca leaves were available. ||Overall, the concierge service was decent. We got some good recommendations for activities and restaurants; however, their failure to reserve transportation to the airport at 6am, which we requested the day before, was a major disappointment. There aren’t many options for higher-end hotels in La Paz, and the Atix is likely one of the better ones, but I would recommend confirming your requests multiple times and with multiple staff to avoid this kind of scenario.
