Loved it! We got 2 baguettes, 2 eclairs, carrot cake, and cheesecake. It was delicious! My Grandpa doesn’t eat much, but he scarfed down the carrot cake! Personally, I had an eclair and it was so good; the filling wasn’t too sweet and the dark chocolate coating added a bitterness that allowed ✨perfection✨ in my mouth 🤤

Google
Mid at Best… Maybe it was the surly service or possibly the dining room that seemed to be assembled as an afterthought but this bakery could try harder. That said the bakery products we bought were ok. Chocolate chip cookie, ginger molasses cookie, almond bear claw, and ice coffee.

Google
The best and most affordable bake shop! Everything here is absolute perfection, from the cakes to the loaves! We tried several options, including the danishes, cookies, macarons, pizza, and loaves. They were all very reasonably priced for small-batch baking- cookies were $1.95-2.50, and you can find loaves under $5. Gluten free options are available, as well as custom cakes!

We stopped to pick up some lunch and ordered the Cobb salad, coffee and an oat, raisin cookie. All were delicious. The service was very quick & friendly. A little pricey but good quality. The cookie was one of the best I’ve had. I didn’t rate Atmosphere as we did take out. Store looked very clean and pleasant.

Google
Delicious bakery items never disappoint! This is my go-to place for either treating someone, or just meeting up for a casual coffee/cookie etc. Recently tried their smoothies and were pleasantly surprised as they were double the flavor and half the price of the smoothie place down the street. Always a fantastic experience with the bakery items (especially the molasses ginger cookies)!

Google
Such a great vib going here. The staff was very friendly and the treats were most tasty. Definitely a new favorite.

Delicious desserts and great service. The decor could be improved, including the trashcans that should be removed from the entryway

Google
Great big awning, can't miss them place. Friendly staff. Buy all the bakery goods, tap your card and off you go. It was my first time there as I was a dear in headlights. Staff should pay a little more attention to the guest's wandering eyes and perhaps share the house specialty or what's popular, or maybe even offer to warm up my chocolate chip cookie, which would warrant a tip from me. Otherwise, you're just doing your job. Why should I tip for that? 😘 I got 4 things, shame on me, but so good. Chocolate chunk cookie, cream puff with chocolate on top, blueberry bean muffin (I was surprised how moist it was.), Italian Cookie but in a mini muffin size 🤔 idk what that's called. ❤️ Thanks for being open on a Monday. You came highly recommended from Hartstone Inn in Camden.

Yelp
Stopped in to grab a sandwich (banh mi- yum) and the man in front of me was getting this lovely multi layered chocolate cake with an espresso cream filling and topping. "I'll have one of those, too, please." You know the saying if it looks too good to be true...? Well, this confection lived up to its looks. Absolutely amazing. No pix cause I devoured it! The staffer who rang me up shared it was one of her favorites and everyone in the store was happy and accommodating. I might have to work through the pastry case an item at a time, I am very goal oriented.

Yelp
Cute spot with yummy treats! The macaroons were good which is sometimes hard to find out in Maine! I was impressed. The crueller was good too but I don't think they are my favorite in general. They had a wide selection, a friendly atmosphere, & served quickly

Erin W.

Yelp
Very friendly staff - no frills dining area though... a bit of a downer. Coffee was very good, and the raspberry crumb bar was delicious. The regulars seem to love it here.

Brandy H.

Yelp
Gotta be honest. The croissants were anemic, underbaked. The one with prosciutto and cheese was like a salt-lick. The blackberry lime danish was doughy but good flavor. Disappointing when I watch and weigh my sugar intake to make calculating decisions based on others reviews and how many people were in the shop.

Yelp
I cannot believe in all of the years we've gone to the Blues Festival that I have missed stopping here! I think it was because of the pastries (not wanting to court temptation!). We were checking out of our campground on Monday morning and decided we needed a breakfast sandwich. OMG, the breakfast sandwich here was to die for. Served w/crisp bacon, perfectly cooked egg, nice sharp cheese and on sourdough. It was totally delicious. Service as great, and we were able to sit outside and enjoy the passersby on the sidewalk.A

Yelp
Yummy pastry, friendly staff. Well presented grab and goes, loaves of bread, and other goodies.

Lei G.

Yelp
The line at the door caught my attention. Stopped in and the lavender lemon bar & raspberry sponge cake caught my eye. They were both tasty but the lemon bar was great paired with a hot cup of tea.

Lisa M.

Yelp
OMG the pasteries!!! Premade sandwiches, pastries, cookies, breakfast sandwiches, soup and great coffee!

Jill P.

Yelp
We enjoyed our breakfast sandwiches, I'm happy we didn't just run into a fast food place! The baked good were fantastic, too.

Cindy B.

Yelp
Yummy fresh made breakfast sandwiches and other assorted goodies!! Charming staff!! Their bread is amazing!!

Ann R.

Yelp
The paninis we had were excellent. My husband and I had the same; a sourdough breakfast panini with bacon I believe. Nice job!

L P.

Yelp
Really nice selection of pastries and their coffee is really good. Portions are a little small for the money. It's a nice place to sit and eat, very clean. People are friendly and service is usually quick.

Lisa G.

Yelp
This bakery is really nice! Lots of yummy choices, nice ambiance, and the staff was helpful. My only complaint would be that I stayed in Rockport for 3 days and the macarons weren't replaced in the days I was there. On the first day they were fresh and the next they were a little hard and on the next they were down right stale. Perhaps they should slow down production during the off season.

Austin K.

Yelp
I would go back for the Lamington. Oh wait, I did. I came back here the next day, and ended up having all 6 of us try the Lamington. Get this. I did get other pastries as well: - Their granola was actually very tasty - it is overloaded with dried fruit though if that's not your preference. - The ice cream is a hard pass. There weren't many flavors left, and with so many pastries available, why get this? - Orange chai macaron - nothing mind-blowing, but the orange flavor was more apparent, and the macaron texture was nicely done. - The others I got were good, but would not necessarily get again: chocolate oat bar, whoopie pie, toffee almond cookie, apricot pistachio oat cookie, and maple bourbon pecan bar

Susan B.

Yelp
Hip little cafe along the Main Street- indoor as well as outdoor tables available- everyone was masked and employees wore gloves- pistachio cookie was decent- lemon bar was huge and the macaroons were interesting - Great variety- the shells of the macaroons were perfect!! The flavors were good- but some like the vanilla and pumpkin spice tasted more like buttercream then the actual flavor they suggested-I really enjoyed the Green Bee soda- blueberry juice and ginger!! Awesome flavors and very refreshing

Alyssa N.

Yelp
I am obsessed with finding pastries anytime I visit a new town. I'm not talking muffins and scones, but true pastry (croissants, tarts, etc). When I saw the offerings ABC had, I knew this was our Saturday morning spot. We somehow walked in with NO LINE. Typically that would be a good thing, but in this case we had no idea what we wanted... this resulted in us ordering about 100 items. Every time she got something we added something else on lol They have quite a few gluten-free items (obviously not certified as such since they're produced in the same area with the gluten-full), but my husband was very excited to try the GF brownie and chocolate dipped macaroon. Both were extremely tasty. We wish we had seen the gluten-free bread option but we'll have to stop in again to try that! I got a cruller (Saturday's only) and it was exceptionally light, eggy, and perfect. I saved my prosciutto and cheese croissant for the next day - heated for a bit in the oven and it was fannnntastic!! We also snagged an apple sourdough and this bread toasted with some salted butter is all that is right in the world. Service was stellar!!! Despite the huge rush that came in right behind us, and a snappy gentleman in front of us, everyone was cool calm and collected. Dreaming of my next trip!

Rachael G.

Yelp
Yum! Stopped for breakfast and definitely worth the wait for a freshly made breakfast sandwich! Try the coffee and pastries too. Everything tastes fresh and the probably the best you've had! A little pricey but you def pay for what you get here.

Stefan V.

Yelp
Great service, many yummy looking things, excellent coffee and def. Nice atmosphere. However recommended to stay away from their gluten free breads as they are the crumbliest I've had in many years and pretty dry after less than a day. Everything else was good though a little pricey

James R.

Yelp
Atlantic is a pleasant bakery with a variety of bakery offerings ranging from bread to muffling and lunch items. I ordered the classic blueberry muffin which as fine albeit slightly dense. Service moved quickly even with a large volume of people. I would like to try more of the baked items since my experience was limited to the muffin. You can also order coffee to wash down your baked good.

Ava P.

Yelp
Great spot if your looking for a quick lunch or brunch!! My go to spot any day during my lunch break! Love all the sandwiches, and the sesame braid banquet is delicious!

Katie B.

Yelp
I stopped in here twice while visiting Rockland. Both times the gluten-free options we're limited. There were two baked goods available, an apricot crumble bar and a pumpkin muffin, one that was plain and one that had cranberries and walnuts. I opted for the one with cranberries and walnuts, it was moist and delicious. That being said I wasn't able to try anything else because when I tried, they told me they were out of gluten-free bread. So, while this might be a good option for those non-celiac individuals who don't eat gluten, perhaps calling ahead of time to see if they have the proper ingredients could save you a trip and some time. I also got a chai tea latte (dairy alternatives are soy or almond milk) it was not bad, but it tasted more like a cinnamon latte then chai. I tasted no cardamom or ginger, which is what I want when I order a chai latte.

Kelly F.

Yelp
This has been a midcoast treat for over a decade. Every baked good goes through a strict test here and must meet requirements. By 3pm most days over half the merchandise is gone. Make sure you come early. My favorites Are: Millet muffin- all muffins are perfectly moist here. Oatmeal raisin cookies Hermit bars Chocolate almond bear claws The chai lattes are wonderful here but it can take a while and I always feel bad because the line is so long. Daily soups are available along with a refrigerated area with sandwiches and local treats like cheese. There is a municipal lot behind the bakery- take the first right after passing the bakery.

Beverly R.

Yelp
This was one of the best finds in Rockland for my husband and I. I knew the minute I looked in the front bakery case that their baked goods were the real deal. How could I tell? When you spot an eclair or cream puff with real cream filling (not the thick Bavarian pudding filling), you know you've found a true bakery. Every item I looked at--fresh-baked bread, desserts, sandwiches, salads--looked fresh and delicious. We visited three times during our visit in town and tried desserts we loved, a sandwich and espresso drinks. The desserts (an eclair, cream puff and pumpkin bar with cream cheese filling) and espresso drinks were fantastic. My egg salad sandwich was good but a little dry. We highly recommend this jewel on Main Street.

George D.

Yelp
Wonderful baked pastry. Croissant was just like one you would order in Paris. The latte was just average. Too much foam. If you have a craving for pastries you must stop here. We also loved the millet muffin. Absolutely delicious.

Rachel K.

Yelp
Can I move Atlantic Baking Company to Pennsylvania, pretty please?? Really-I'm begging you? I got a whole wheat boule to make my breakfasts with during the 5 days we were in Rockland. It was the closest thing to German bread I have been able to find in the US after 45 years since I left Europe as a teenager. Back we went for at least 7 different loaves to take home, two stupendously good breakfast sandwiches on our way out of town, lunch salad and smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwiches for lunch on the road and as many desserts as I could justify to myself buying for my sweet tooth, and gluten-free ones for my wife. Don't miss ABC. You'll regret it if you do. Sorry-no pics. I was too busy buying as much as I could.

Heidi G.

Yelp
Bad set up. Food decent. Poor ordering . Lots of confusion. A big mess. Do not recommend

Christina N.

Yelp
We went on a Monday morning and ordered a breakfast sandwich, black coffee and a cappuccino. They were not doing bassist sandwiches that morning which was a bummer but we picked out a pre-made foccacia turkey sandwich instead. The coffees were good, the black coffee was a little bland for the hubs liking. And the sandwich was a nice substitution, it had lots of balsamic, bread was a little tough. If we ever visit Maine again, we'll definitely return.

Eva B.

Yelp
Sandwiches, cookies and salad! Perfect for a picnic on the road! Love the freshly made, ready to take sandwiches, salads and other goodies.

Alex M.

Yelp
Great selection of baked goods, salads, and sandwiches. The braided demo baguette is really good. The granola bars are also amazing.

Fran B.

Yelp
Itis the only place i have seen a loaf of challah in Maine.. then again i have only been here 3 weeks... happened upon this bakery when lost looking for the EV charging station.. it was 22 degrees outside and my fingers were frozen so i needed coffee and discovered they had challah and a LOTR of other delicious items in the shop.. salads, drinks, , breads, sandwiches.. and excellent customer service challah..... great prices and good coffee,,

Jeannie M.

Yelp
The macarons were some of the best that I've ever had. Everything was fantastic. Service was great, staff was kind. I'll definitely be stopping again.

Colin H.

Yelp
awesome bread, breakfast and pastries. great location and service. would highly recommend

Bethany I.

Yelp
Delicious, kind service. Nice atmosphere and accessible hours! I would highly recommend.

P. A.

Yelp
Picked up a cake for a birthday. People really liked it, but I found the frosting very dense despite leaving it at room temperature for a couple of hours

Monica L.

Yelp
Butterscotch blondie was dangerously delicious! Beautiful decorated. Sooo many wonderful breads and cakes.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
The whoopie pie and cupcakes were delicious. They do not carry coke and Pepsi products which was a bummer.

Geoffrey K.

Yelp
Bake shop loaded with delightful pastries of all kinds including gluten free for this with dietary concerns. We had the croissant breakfast with fried egg, cheddar cheese and ham. Flakey and wonderful croissant sandwich. Highly recommend. Coffee was flavourful and fresh.

Mark H.

Yelp
Great lunch. The tuna on ciabatta was amazing and the prepared salads are fresh and the homemade balsamic makes them

tt p.

Yelp
So cute. Great for cakes, bread and cookies. Also coffee. Not good for sandwiches. Really gross old pre-made sandwiches. Curbside delivery is hit or miss. If you don't see someone bringing your pick up in 5 or do min, call or go in. They seem to have a hard time keeping track of it.

Jason M.

Yelp
Came here for a sweet treat on our Maine vacation. Located in the middle of the quaint business district of Rockland, ABC was one of our tastier treasure finds. I had the Lamington (an Australian sponge cake dessert) which was like a cloud melting in my mouth. The ginger molasses cookie was perfect. My family devoured the chocolate chip cookies before I could even sample a taste. I heard they were equally tasty.

Steff D.

Yelp
Who doesn't love a good local bakery? We were happy to take a mid-afternoon break here while walking around Rockland for a sugar and caffeine fix. The older woman working the counter ("Tigers forever!") was absolutely lovely; she was bubbly, engaging, informative, and kind. We asked her a slew of questions and she excitedly and happily answered all of them. I don't know how it is for other people, but this sort of genuinely exceptional customer service makes me want to spend more money. So while we originally went in for A sweet, we walked out with MANY sweets. And the price? SO LOW. Our entire bill came to around $7. What did we try? - Cardamom cookie: my friend's choice, and it was delicious. Soft, dense, and chewy like a molasses cookie, but with the pleasant presence of cardamom instead. - A raspberry thumbprint cookie: these weren't available when we arrived, but the awesome woman told us she had some hiding in the back that she'd sell us. Thumbprint cookies can be so hit or miss, but these were perfection. A buttery, pillowy, soft sugar cookie with a thick glob of raspberry jam, and large crystals of sugar sprinkled on top. The flavors, the textures - I should have bought a dozen. - A layered Spumoni brownie/bar: I also regret not buying more of these. The pistachio, cherry, and chocolate flavors were just on point. This was an unexpected treat! - Rum balls: not quite as strong as they were advertised to us, but still good (reminded me of a dense, fudge-like chocolate Munchkin®' from Dunkin's). - And something lemony I can't remember, because we inhaled it so quickly (it was that delicious) Unlike others, when we arrived (it was close to 4pm on a Saturday right before Christmas) there was plenty available still for purchase. The breads on the wall behind the cash register were beautiful works of art, and I would absolutely love to come back here sometime to try their quiches!

Brittney R.

Yelp
Such a lovely place. Delicious to die for treats, gorgeous desserts and baked goods. One of the few places you can come into to safely get some work done. Open early for a nice (delicious) cup of coffee. Wonderful chill atmosphere. Love the big windows that you can sit by and look out at Main Street from.

Joe S.

Yelp
Open during the "state shutdown" (pandemic) offering curbside pickup, delivery, or in-store takeout. They have put up glass shields between the customers and the servers and you can pay by credit card without handing anyone your card. Good job Atlantic Baking! I only wish your signage was better so that more people would notice that you are open. Great fresh-baked cookies $1.25 - $1.75 apiece. Also brownies, cupcakes, bars, eclairs, danish, etc. Fresh baked artisan breads. Frozen pizza dough. Sandwiches-to-go.

Jeannie F.

Yelp
The maple buns are like a marriage between a Parisian and a lobster woman from Bath. That's sounds weird and wrong but it's a good marriage and the buns are seriously great. The rest is good to average. But the whole croissant plus syrup thing is sublime.

Christina M.

Yelp
Immediately greeted and felt very welcome! Initially couldn't decide what to order and cashier/baker was very patient. Ordered a croissant and blueberry almond muffin. The croissant was flaky, light and buttery. The muffin was the best muffin I have ever had! (Seriously)! Wonderful texture with almond pieces and blueberries. Definitely a must try!!

Jamie K.

Yelp
Yummy bakery in downtown Rockland. Chocolate croissant was very scrumptious. A bit dry with minimal chocolate, but still very tasty and fresh. Regular croissant was also dry, but flaky and flavorful. Nice bakery with so many treats to try. The ordering system is a bit confusing. There is one line to order and get your items and then you have to back out of the line to go and pay in a separate line. You cannot get from one line to the other without turning around and bumping into the people in line behind you. Clean place with great displays. Yummy. Lots of seating inside and out.

Heather B.

Yelp
This is a fabulous bakery. Many delicious choices. Fresh made bread, sandwiches, salads.

Gary W.

Yelp
Good, simple 3-star breakfast place. Good coffee and lattes. Good/very good pastries. Nice staff. Everything adequate...nothing exceptional.

Joe C.

Yelp
This mom & pop bakery is located on Main Street, set in between several art galleries and directly across the street from the Farnsworth Art Museum. Although they appear serious about their breads (check out their impressive website) they also sell a good mix of other goods such as cupcakes, croissants, cookies, muffins, and sandwiches. Unfortunately when I visited the girl behind the counter said they sold a lot of items earlier in the day so the glass counter looked a little sparse. I'm OK with that because I prefer bakeries sell off everything at the day's end rather than keep things around for days. It guarantees freshness. Inside there is plenty of seating, restrooms are clean, and some good old fashioned people watching can be performed if you pick the right spot near a window.
