I was lucky enough to snag a reservation at the Atlantic during Epic's technical rehearsals and preview days! (And with that, I recognize they are still training and working out all the logistics.)
We arrived a few minutes prior to our reservation and opted to get some drinks at the bar, as our table wasn't ready yet. I tried the Northern Lights (purple drink) and it was refreshing and beautiful. Several people asked me what I ordered simply because it is so eye catching.
We were seated about 15 minutes after our reservation time and there was a bit of confusion about who our server was - but once it was sorted, we got to ordering. We shared the sweet and spicy shrimp (like bang bang shrimp) and it was delicious. However, the mussels were the real star of the appetizer round - they were hearty mussels of a decent size. I loved the cilantro sauce and the tomatoes that came with. It was a healthy portion and, of course, topped off with some bread to soak up the delicious broth!
For entrees, our party tried the bucatini, the lobster roll, the grouper sandwich, and the sea bass! And it was all delicious and fresh. I had the sea bass and did find it to be a bit salty - and the carrot mochi were just odd - but the fish itself was light and the coconut broth was so so flavorful...I wish they'd given me a spoon or bread to soak it up!
During dinner, I also tried the sand dollar cocktail - it straight up looks like sand, which wasn't appetizing - but the drink was so refreshing, light and coconuty - without being too tart from the grapefruit.
The only small downside was from our reservation side, we were there for almost two hours and had ordered pretty immediately after being sat. For a food option inside a park, I hope they speed up service slightly so guests can get back to the park!
But overall, delicious food and in an absolutely gorgeous building, with stunning views of the park and fountains!
