I completely understand what the hype is all about with this sea food place. The fish soup and the lobster soup were incredibly creamy and rich with meat, for the main dish I had octopus with salad and wow - perfect in flavour and texture. My friend had shrimps and potato, all I can say is that we took little breaks to be able to eat everything because the portions are really big and so delicious! All ingredients were fresh and perfectly prepared. The house wine was a great pairing, and the staff was friendly and professional, they gave us great recommendations and explained everything in our language as they are multicultural. A must-visit for any seafood lover!

They have a great variety/selection of fish and crabs. Price is reasonable. The breakfast there was good, tasty. The bistro setting is authentic Hamburg style. The service is friendly.

Your experience here could really vary. Did you first walk in, find a table, and then go order at the counter? Congratulations. You did it the German way (plant your towel first!) and you will probably have an amazing meal. But if you do what most normal people would: order first, then look for a seat, you might be in for a nasty surprise. Seating is limited, and you will be at the mercy of finding a friendly face willing to share their table. Some people will, and they will restore your faith in humanity. Others will not, and will remind you of how many selfish people there are in the world. The food? Fantastic.

The lobster soup is amazing, well seasoned and fulfilling. Fresh, delicious and generous servings, ideal for sharing. High recommend. I will be back... for sure!!!

Prepare for a long queue- but it will be definitely worth a wait! One of hamburgs best and original places to eat fish and sea food! They also have a little store inside to buy fresh ocean products. Also make sure to check out Hamburgs best Fischbrötchen!

This is an excellent place. Unpretentious with delicious extra fresh seafood. At first it seems like service is chaotic and the crowds are annoying but it’s actually nice and it works really well. Fischbrötchen with fried fish are served warm with a generous dollop of tartar, bratkartoffeln is great in its simplicity and fischfillet is very tender. Portions are big too. I would eat here every day if I could.

I was in Hamburg for a short time and went here by recommendation, and boy did it not disappoint. The food was incredibly tasty and the portions were huge. Prices are fair. The staff was also nice and took my order even though the kitchen was about to close. Can only recommend further.

The food is fresh, no-frills, and of high quality at a reasonable price! I was shocked to see the food served within 10 minutes of ordering. This is what German efficiency should be! It was our first time in Hamburg and the first restaurant we tried. We will definitely be back every time we are in Hamburg.
