BEDBUGS. But most important the staff reaction to it. I got bitten by bedbugs, went downstairs and asked the receptionist( woman with short hair and piercings) if I can wait in the common area until the sun comes up since I have no place to go at 2am with -1 degrees outside. She told if she gives me a refund I cannot stay in the hostel. It's inhumane to treat anyone that way, especially when I am already in distress. What I experienced is not just bad service, but a complete disregard for my basic comfort and safety. The lack of empathy and basic common sense from the receptionist is shocking. I was treated with indifference and was left to deal with the situation alone, despite being in a vulnerable and distressed state. It was embarrassing and completely unacceptable. This level of carelessness and lack of compassion is beyond disappointing. What I experienced is not just bad service, but a complete disregard for my basic comfort and safety. The lack of empathy and basic common sense from the receptionist is shocking. In the hundreds of hostels I have stayed at I have never experienced something like this. I would avoid this place who employs evil people in a position of power.

The room smelled alotbut looked clean. The building looks very old. The toilet were so old that you can't differentiate between either they're dirty or old. No elevator in the building.Positives: Location is very central. The staff is amazing and helpful. The bar is nice with good deals going on.

Very good rooms, very good attention to detail, outstanding service and hospitality. Towels available for rent, water available in reception. There is a bar that holds themed nights and they do offers for people staying. I felt very safe here, the lockers are very big and s key is provided, the beds are very comfy in big rooms although you have to make your own bed. For the price, outstanding!

Didn't have much expectations since it was a hostel, but was surprised to see how clean and well managed everything was. Really appreciated how nice the rooms were and how every bed had its own socket, as well as how big the lockers were. Shared bathrooms were also clean with ample space, liked how there was a small stool to put stuff on in the shower stall as well. Only thing I would probably comment on is how the kettle is slightly dirty in the common room, but other than that I think everything was really nice here.

The hostel is decent, but the staff needs improvement. Overall, the hostel isn't bad. The room is clean, there are not much unpleasant odors, and the heater works well. However, we encountered a significant issue during our stay. We were in a four-bed shared dorm for the first two nights when one of our roommates got food poisoning on the second night and kept vomiting. We understood that this was not his fault, and we wanted to move to a private room to help him rest. That was our plan for the third and fourth nights. When our roommate was unwell, I approached the staff member with short hair and piercings to discuss the situation calmly. Unfortunately, she turned out to be the most impatient and rude person. Since travelers at hostels usually operate on a budget, her insistence that our roommate call an ambulance and go to a hospital in a foreign country—where medical costs can be extremely high—was unreasonable. Her tone and attitude were disgraceful and unprofessional. I have never experienced customer service like this before. Instead of helping to resolve the issue, she seemed to make it worse. I felt it was necessary to calm her down myself. Once I managed to help them (staff & roommate) settle (shouldn’t be my job), we went to the reception to arrange for our room change. However, she overcharged me and again failed to resolve the problem properly. I would like to give a huge shoutout to Paulina. She was extremely helpful, patient, and, most importantly, very polite. She arranged a refund for us for the night we were overcharged and stayed overtime to clean up after the vomiting incident. We are very grateful for her excellent service. On the other hand, I have a suggestion for the hostel: it's clear this isn't the first time someone has complained about the short-haired staff member’s attitude. If your hostel aims to provide acceptable service, it would be wise to address this issue. Her performance needs significant improvement. Or, GET RID OF HER.

Great location, great value (during weekdays). Really nice spacious kitchen, lots of fridge space. They have an oven!! I can cook my lasagna! Also six minutes walking from Biedronka. Decent Wi-Fi but often lost connection especially peak times. Really nice spacious lockers with a key. Code needed to enter kitchen and dorm area. I thought beds were comfortable enough and rooms were SUPER warm, so we left the window open in our dorm mostly. I closed it my last day and it started to stink so I recommend leaving it open 😉 Large bathrooms with many showers and toilets. Men and women do share rooms and bathrooms so be aware. Most bathrooms had body soap and all had a glass shower doors and stool to put your clothes and hang clothes. Water is SUPER HOT so be careful when you turn it! I found it a super good value and super friendly staff. They even printed my visa for me for free :) You’re able to leave luggage and eat before you leave.

Absolutely fabulous 5 nights spent here. The hostel is situated close to everything with only a 25 minute walk to the train station it really is central. Rooms are clean and cosy, staff are lovely and friendly. The bar is great and cheap to drink at with plenty of board games to keep you entertained. I honestly could not put one flaw on our stay here and it will definitely be the place I stay on my next visit.

Disclaimer before reading: I only spent one night at the hostel and during January, so I can't tell how it's like during high season. Trash bins in the kitchen don't have lids, so you can smell garbage while you're cooking or making yourself a cup of tea. I appreciate the tea bags/coffee/sugar. Cleanliness was ok, only complaint about it is regarding blankets. They had red stains... seemed like blood. And the matress cover they gave me had holes, big holes in it. Floor outside the rooms should have a carpet on for rolling the suitcases without making noise. You can also hear footsteps clearly since it's a wooden, old floor. Walls are thin, I could hear some stuff but I imagine it gets worse during high season, so wasn't that much of a problem during my stay. At least everybody respected silence hours. Courtains are placed way far from the window so there's a pretty strong beam of light coming at your face when you sleep. You could make the bed the other way around but the bed's escalator would be next to you. Beds are old and made out of metal, and matresses have springs so they make a terrible noise each time you move. I stayed at a 4 beds room with private bathroom. Hot water in the shower was irregular. Wifi didn't work... not even in the hallways. It was really cheap, you get what you pay for.

2 stars because the Location is ok, but other than that this hostel is one giant hot turd. I can take not having an escalator to hike your luggage up 3 floors. What I can't handle is having one set of keys between 7 strangers. Having the room so fully booked that they put you on a fold out mattress that looks like it was picked off the streets during garbage day. There is also 3 x toilets and 3 x showers for an entire floor of people, which I know was upwards of 40+ Was not a fun time in this place.

This was one of the best bargains on my travels. It was quite a walk from the train station but was still manage able after a night sleeping on the train and with back packs. The hostel doesn't have a life and is quite high up. The rooms are very spacious and there is a kettle provided in the corridor to make some tea if you are feeling home sick. The showers were warm and great, everything was clean and nice. They have a small reception room down stairs with a board of interesting things and little business cards to take and get discounts with (as well as displaying a map) They have organised trips to the salt mines and also Auschwitz which are well worth doing. They collect you straight from the hostel. There's great security with door codes changing daily. There's one PC at reception to use the internet on.
