Massive room. Fairly basic but it’s clearly been maintained well and kept up to date. Smart TV works well. The service was great. Special shout out to Jordan on the front desk. He was friendly and welcoming at 2am when we got in. And kindly gave us a late checkout because we got in late. Really helped us relax and enjoy our evening there.

We stayed 4 nights at the Atlantis during October 2025. I have mixed feelings about the hotel.||The Pros are firstly the location, being a short walk from Southern Cross station, and Skybus. Secondly the staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly, helpful, and courteous. Also the hotel has a very good pool, and the room we had was clean and comfortable and everything was in working order. Lastly the price for the location and for the standard of the room was very good.||Now for the Cons. Firstly the bed, I didn’t sleep well at all. I understand the comfort of of a bed is subjective, and some people might find the bed we had comfortable, but for both me and my wife we would have preferred a slightly firmer mattress. Secondly breakfast was poor, it’s definitely reasonably priced at $15 but it lacked variety, bread was a selection of what I would describe as supermarket bread, it was very bland, there was scrambled eggs, which was the highlight of breakfast, and baked beans, a selection of breakfast cereals, orange and apple juice, as well as a coffee machine. Personally I would prefer to pay a little more for breakfast, and have another type of egg cooked, ( fried or poached ), bacon, sausages, maybe a croissant. We only had breakfast once at the hotel, we either ate out for breakfast, or bought croissants and cheese, and salmon and ate in our room. We would have ordered room service but the hotel does not provide it for food.||The Atlantis is a budget hotel, very reasonably |priced considering the location, it’s certainly not a bad hotel, but we won’t be returning.

It was 3/5 experience. The location was great as it was in the Central Melbourne right by the Southern Cross Station, very handy to all the transportations, supermarkets, and shopping mall.||The room was alright, it looks exactly like in the photo. The bed was quite big but was ok not as comfy as the other hotel we stayed in. The room was big and spacious. There was no place to hang the towels. The wardrobe was a bit small.||The kettle mouth was quite dirty so we didnt use the kettle to make our coffee during our stay.||The lightning wasnt so bright, so it was quite hard for me to put my make up on. I think they need to replace it with a new lights to make it brighter. There isnt much of a cable cords anywhere, just 2x by the desk and there was none by the bedside tables.||First night of our stayed we asked the reception in the morning if we could have a new towels and they tidied up our room and make our beds, and got us some new towels and shampoo - which was great.||The second night of our stayed, when we asked the reception in the morning if we can have a new towels, that didnt happened. When we came back from our day activity, our room wasnt being made at all, no new towels etc. So we were very much quite disappointed. When we got back from the supermarket, we asked the reception for new towels and she also gave us a new bar soap and a shampoo. We told them the rool wasnt made and the lady at the reception told us that we had the "do not disturb" sign on our door. But that doesnt make any difference, cos we had our room being made and tidied up on the first night of our stayed so why the second night our room wasnt being made and tidied up?||The hot water was ok, we had to adjusted as the water keeps on going to cold.||Anyway, overall of the stay was average. The only good thing was the location, as it was right in the city central.

Very nice hotel. Room is spacious and comfy. Bathroom is clean, nice warm water, and spacious. Good location. Easy to find food, Woolies, and train station. Near the tram stop and Marvel stadium.

THE WORST HOTEL IN MELBOURNE. Staff are rude, hotel is crap. Pool isnt “heated” as advertised and sauna isnt even on. Horrible hotel. One lift working and saying “thank you for your understanding” who told you we are understanding you have one lift working especially during a weekend where youd expect to be busy due to oasis concert happening…….. would rate a 0 if i could.

We recently booked a room at Atlantis Hotel Melbourne through Agoda after flying in from overseas to be with family following the sudden death of our younger sister due to domestic violence. We were exhausted, grieving, and desperate for rest.||||The listing clearly stated 24-hour check-in and no payment until arrival. In reality, we were charged nearly $200 upfront and then told upon arrival there were no rooms available until 2 PM — more than 12 hours later. When we asked to cancel and move elsewhere, we were refused a refund, even though we couldn’t access the room and had been misled.||||The hotel staff showed zero compassion, no flexibility, and clearly cared more about profit than the wellbeing of their guests — even under traumatic circumstances.||||This was one of the worst experiences I've had with a hotel. I strongly advise anyone, especially those travelling under sensitive or time-critical situations, to look elsewhere. Do not trust the listing as shown via Agoda — it was blatantly inaccurate.

I paid for an air conditioned room that didn’t work and when I made a complaint I was told the weather outside is cold enough and they gave me a fan instead. I had hot flushes all night. I will not come back and definitely do not recommend this hotel. Very expensive for the room standard and the quality of the room. The room was also very dirty. When I told the staff that this is what happened to me during checkout. The staff just acknowledged and said we will look into it. Never did anything to remedy the situation, I also said I will make a review online and the lady was like SURE. That’s it.

We recently stayed here during our trip to Melbourne. The rooms were spacious and included all you needed. The location of the hotel was excellent and had many shops, bars and restaurants close by. The pool and gym were also great to have and were pretty quiet when we visited.

Yelp
Location across from Southern Cross Station. Weight room is solid. Both ticks of the box. Hotel room is basic. Housekeeping is loud in the AM. Room is dark, Dark couch. Dark carpet. Window shade does not come up (not much to look at anyways). Desk has a glass top, impossible for a mouse. Glass table next to sofa wobbles. Shower turns off at 90 percent turned off (yes front desk suggested that). TV is an android TV, with lots of options, but is really slow to respond to remote. Netflix, never worked. WiFi does not stay connected, have to log in multiple times.

Yelp
This was a very nice, clean, basic hotel with a reasonably priced room. Nothing really fancy here: no fancy bars ir restaurants inside, but had everything I needed to enjoy my visit to the city.

Yelp
I'd say 3.5 stars. Above average. If you have low expectation, you may find this pleasant(which is my case. Probably because previous accommodation prior to here sucked ass). I liked the location. Close to major train station(Southern Cross station) and it's on the street where tram 86/96 run which gives you easy access to heart of CBD. The room that I booked was pretty big for single. Laundry is $15 per bag. Previously I used laundry service at some fancy hotel for same amount and costed $124!!! Coming from that, I found that this $15 per bag deal was quite a steal. They do offer wifi. But you have to re-login every 2 hours. Unless if you are here for business and need to work from the room, you shouldn't find this inconvenient. Although I've kept using free wifi which they say "low speed", I didn't find excruciatingly painful even when I was streaming(yes, it does buffer occasionally). Price is roughly $100~120 a night for single. Not bad, considering the location, service and size of the room.

Yelp
This budget friendly hotel was perfect for what we needed. It is right in the city but with out any horrendous noise. In fact, it was very quiet. Check in was easy and when we needed advice on how to get to St Kilda using the tram, they were more than helpful. Location is perfect for walking to train station, Federation Square, numerous restaurants and bars, and the Queen Victoria market. They serve a breakfast for 12 bucks but we didn't eat there. There is a small functional gym, a pool, and a sauna but it was in repair. The bed was comfy. Plenty of outlets. There is a small fridge and hot pot. Instant coffee as well. Basic cable TV with remote. Extra pillows, a hair dryer and an ironing board. AC worked well. Shower was good pressure. Nice towels but itty bitty soaps. Only thing I could suggest is another towel hook. A very pleasant stay and the price point is nice.

Yelp
So obviously this is a budget hotel so you can`t expect any of the fruit like cable TV. The rooms are pretty bare, but they`re modern and clean and you really can`t ask for much more out of a hotel for the price they charge. Staff were super patient with my buddy and I accessing our luggage a couple of times during our last day after we checked out, which I appreciated. I like the location. It`s very central without being located on any main drags. It`s nice to walk for a few blocks after your meals. You can easily walk to the shops, restaurants and even across the river to the Cas. It`s right near a DFO and the train & bus station. Super handy if you`re getting the shuttle to and from the airport.

Yelp
Aside from the historic and majestic Victoria Hotel on Lt Collins st, the Atlantis has to be my fave place to stay in the city. Whilst the Vic is steeped in tradition, the Atlantis offers guests the ultimate in modern style and sophistication. With bay views over the Docklands from each floor (each floor has its own lounge area with comfy chairs and panoramic views over the Docklands), at affordable prices (around $140 for a double room) and only $11 extra for brekky and $15 for secure, undercover, onsite car parking This ultra chic hotel offers 24 hour reception, a fully equipped gym, pool and spa, breakfast room with stunning views out on to the Docklands and the nicest, minimalist, largest rooms in Melbourne, regardless of where you're staying. Situated in Spencer just near Flagstaff Gardens and opposite the shopping centre and train station, it doesn't get better than here.

Yelp
I stayed in this hotel for four days when I went to see U2 at Marvel Stadium. Since I was traveling alone, I needed a hotel very close to the concert location. The Atlantis was perfect for that, only five minutes walk. The area is not that great, especially at night, except for the police station right across the street from the hotel. Checking was fast and easy and the hotel was very friendly. The room was clean and very quiet. The problem I had was that the safe wasn't working and I had to change rooms. The other reason why I give four stars instead of five is because the front desk never told me that the breakfast was free. I only found out on my second morning I was there. Otherwise the food was great and a full breakfast fed me for the day. Overall, I recommend the hotel for its location and proximity to the stadium. Otherwise, just be careful at night, outside, if you are a woman alone.

Yelp
A 2-star rating will be fair for this hotel. Pros: it's new and the decor is minimalist and modern. Staff at the reception desk were courteous. Location is at the northwestern edge of the CBD and it's just half a block away from the free circle tram, Coles supermarket, and Queen Vic Market is just a 10-min walk away. Cons: We checked in and went up to our room only to find that the room wasn't made. Clearly the previous guest had checked out that morning as the bedsheets and towels were lying on the bed but housekeeping had not clean the room. Wouldn't the reception desk have known that? That was poor communication between the housekeeping department and the reception. We got moved to another room. We used the cups and spoons provided for the in-room coffee and the next day, housekeeping came and cleaned our room but did not replace or clean our used cups and spoons. We only realized that in the evening since we were out the whole day and my husband called the reception and requested for new cups and spoons. The reception asked that we went downstairs to get the clean cups from them as housekeeping had left for the day so they weren't able to send them up to our room. We travel alot and have stayed at many hotels with different star ratings and that was the first time a hotel could not have something delivered to our room but instead asked us to collect it ourselves. Housekeeping was also very inconsistent throughout the stay. On another day, we didn't get new shampoo and soap. Another sign of extremely poor communication between housekeeping and the reception desk: My husband left his suit jacket in the closet and only realized it after we checked out of the hotel. We called the hotel right away and asked to help us retrieve the jacket from the room so that we could return to the hotel to get it. There was no sense of urgency from the hotel at all because they did not call us back within 2 days. Instead, my husband called them several times in between to ask and they said the same thing: housekeeping hasn't had a chance to look if the jacket was in the room. Are you serious? It had been 2 days. We were lucky that we were still in Melbourne at that time (we moved out and stayed with my sister in the suburb) so we still had a few days to retrieve the jacket. But what if circumstances were different and we were departing Melb that day? With the lack of urgency from the hotel, it would probably have been a goodbye to the jacket. Finally we couldn't wait for the hotel anymore (who knows if someone else had already checked in to that room and took our jacket?) and my husband went back to the hotel himself in order to sort everything out. The reception staff then brought my husband up to the room and lo and behold, his jacket was hanging in the closet. Why couldn't they have gone up to the room themselves after the very first phone call we made right after we checked out? Also, the reception staff said something to the effect that housekeeping had swept the entire room but they didn't find any jacket. What? I thought they said at first that housekeeping hadn't had a chance to go through the room yet. The entire thing didn't even made sense. Atlantis Hotels needs to improve their communication between housekeeping and reception. I'm usually fair when it comes to expectations and since Atlantis is not a 5-star hotel, I do not expect 5-star service from them. But I expect that they at least keep up to the standards of a mid-star hotel.

Yelp
Very budget and basic. We ended up in a room with a window overlooking a pit with no light at all. When I asked about it I was told that travelocity had that information on the booking page. Not so. There is also no cell reception (as the room is entirely interior and wifi is extra. The staff was courteous but unhelpful. I asked for extra pillows which never showed up. Overall a disappointing experience.

Yelp
It's basic, cheap, it's good, stayed there 5 times, breakfast is a bit of a downer for $12 but hey you get what you pay for, I'm a regular here, the pool and sauna is a bonus

Yelp
What a horrible stay that only got worse as it went along. At the beginning of the stay I was thinking it was average but by the end it was quite appalling. Hairball inside the kettle Toilet not cleaned during the whole 5 night stay No top sheet on the bed just the doona, which had blood stains on it and was not changed. Breakfast buffet is toast, cereal, baked beans, scrambled eggs, apples and yoghurt. Too bad if you are lactose intolerant like me, the only milk provided is full cream so all I could have was toast and apples. What kind of breakfast buffet does not have bacon and boiled/poached eggs? Seems this one only serves things which come straight out of a packet and can be reheated. Very expensive toast and apples at $12 per person per day. For some strange reason housekeeping seemed to alternative our linen, somedays we had a bathmat, other days we had a hand towel but never both??? Given the shower had no door on it and the floor can become wet easily it really is a hazard not to have a bath mat. The only bin is the tiny bathroom one which is not enough. The cold tap does not run cold water, only hot water the same as the hot tap. Multiple power points were not working. Our room cards we accidentally wiped on the first day meaning we couldn't get into our room. Inadequate lighting, 2 led downlights for the whole living space, was very difficult to see except directly under the lights. Room service menu is out of date. We decided what we wanted to order, went online and only 1 of the meals we wanted was still available, ended up going out for dinner instead. We stayed in an executive queen room with a view, the street noise was incredible, it sounded like we may as well have been sleeping on the street, even though we were on the 8th floor. At 2am on our second morning the fire alarms went off and the building evacuated. First of all the staff did not even know what the evac procedure was and did not folloe it at all, when a lady asked to speak to a manager she was told there are no managers on duty. One staff member announce the problem was just an overheated fridge which had been removed from the room and everything was ok now. A concerned guest with 2 young children asked when the fire brigade would arrive as she would like to get the ok from them rather than a hotel clerk before she put her children back to bed. The clerk said he didn't know if the fire brigade would come and was very rude to the lady saying of course it is fine cos he said so and how dare she question him. Eventually we all went back to bed, I heard sirens about half an hour later, it may have been the fire brigade I can't be sure. At no stage was an apology received for the inconvenience. To top it all off our car was broken into whilst parked in the hotel car park which we had paid a whopping $75 for. When I told the receptionist our car had been broken into and multiple things stolen, she smiled, just smiled, that's it, I kid you not. I HAVE NO DOUBT A HOTEL STAFF MEMBER BROKE INTO AND ROBBED OUR CAR. And I get the feeling it is quite common. Upon check out we were not asked how our stay was in fact the receptionist didn't even speak to us at all. Overall a horrible stay, I will never ever be back. Stayed March 2013
