ATO Restaurante

Really great place - food was delicious. Fresh, creative menu - exactly as I hoped it would be. I had crispy fish cheeks with green sauce and skate wing for main. Skate is a fish I love and is difficult to find in UK. This was cooked perfectly and the tangy buttery caper sauce and accompaniments really set it off. Strongly recommend!

Absolutely outstanding!!!! Without hesitation, this is our #1 restaurant in the Algarve and in the top 5 during our whole trip (Lisbon, Porto, Sao Miguel, and Madeira). We stopped in for a late lunch and were the only ones in the restaurant. The service was exceptional (shout out to the two chefs and the service “chef”). We had ordered the sourdough bread with accompaniments, tomato rosa, braised harissa aubergine, local prawns, and Toucinho de Céu (dessert). Every dish was nicely presented and tasted amazing! The wine selection was also wonderful. I consider myself a food snob and would definitely place this in the category of Michelin quality service and food. Thank you for a delicious meal!

I visited Ato Restaurant in Faro yesterday and had a great experience. The chef greeted me with a warm smile and was very friendly throughout. The food was simple but delicious, with a focus on seafood dishes. I was traveling alone and found this place while searching online it turned out to be a great choice!

I'm somewhat concerned that this was the first place I've been to to eat in Portugal. I fear that everywhere else is going to be downhill from here. Just exceptional food. Let's just keep this between ourselves ok. No need to make a fuss about it. A secret among friends.

Unassuming, ATO is a great place for food and service. prawns 👍 Monk fish 👍 all we ate was v.good. what was also nice the chef coming to each table for a chat. ATO is on our list when we return.

An outstanding restaurant in Faro! The service was warm, attentive, and very knowledgeable. The food was simply amazing, beautifully presented, and paired perfectly with their excellent wine selection. I highly recommend ATO to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

I rarely give a 5-star rating to restaurants but this place deserves it. If I have to summarize the experience in this restaurant in one word, the word will be 'intimate." This place, though small, is well designed and laid out. A lot of thoughts have gone into the decor and lighting. The kitchen is a prominent feature of this place and watching your food being expertly created in front of your eyes is a key part of the intimate experience. Watching the chef move from station to station in his fluid way, was a treat for us this afternoon. The gnocchi was exceptional. The grouper, paired with an outstanding sauce and expertly seared, offered the perfect combination of crunchiness and tenderness. The golden sea bream with carrots and watercress was delicate and delicious. The chef prepared the almond madeline fresh for us. There is nothing quite like waiting for the dessert to be baked and having it served while it was still warm. I cannot say enough good things about the sauces the chef used to enhance all his dishes. The waitress was friendly and attentive. She worked in perfect synchrony with the chef, it was like watching a choreographed dance. Highly recommended!

Would rate this place more than 5 stars if possible, every dish was exquisite! High quality ingredients prepared and cooked impeccably - we thoroughly enjoyed every bite! Thank you to the owner and all the staff who made our experience here one to remember, this dinner made our stay in Faro all the more enjoyable ❤️🙏🏼 muito obrigado!!
