exceptionally and unfortunately mediocre. they are charging fine dining prices for not fine dining food or service. our servers were very sweet but we waited an hour for our food and 30 minutes for wine. what made this experience amazing was the location… the patio had incredible views and was super private.

Has a lovely low key Friday night by the water dinner with friends. Room is nice - bright - super views. Staff are charmingly cheerful. Food was excellent - squid - lamb chops - steak and great desserts. They certainly do not scrimp on portions. (Note - one reviewer complained about bread charge. But since said bread is actually a baguette and comes with balsamic vinegar and olives - I am fine with the charge.)

Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Lack of Hospitality We had a very disappointing experience at Atravida Restaurant. Despite arriving a full hour before closing, we were told the chef could not accommodate any more guests due to two large tables and limited food. While we understood the kitchen was under pressure, the tone from the staff—particularly our initial server—was curt and dismissive. We were even met with resistance when asking for a simple cocktail. The on-site manager informed us that food is not guaranteed without a reservation, which is surprising for a restaurant located within a major inn on a tourist-driven island. Thankfully, one bright spot was Autumn, a different server who kindly offered to get us chicken strips and fries after overhearing our situation. She treated us with care and professionalism—something the earlier experience lacked entirely. We left feeling that tourists are more of a burden than a welcome presence. For a destination that relies heavily on tourism, we expected better hospitality and a more accommodating attitude toward visitors.

We were there for the prime rib dinner. Better come with your loose pants! Huge portions, beautifully plated. Gorgeous views and I love the artwork around the restaurant. I wish I had room for dessert!

Stayed on the property and tried this restaurant for dinner one night. Nice spot with views of the ocean. Had the prawn chorizo pasta - the noodles it was supposed to come with were not available, it came with bow tie noodles instead. Meal wasn’t bad, but wouldn’t order again.

It's located in front of the ferry dock so it has a wonderful view of the ocean and the Hudson Bay. We went for the happy hour on a Sunday, no one was in the reception so we were waiting to be seated around 7 minutes, menu had few options, food was good but I felt my dish had few chorizo (just 2 little pieces). The waitress was very nice. Prices were expensive but considering it is a restaurant inside a hotel, I guess it is a regular practice.

Atrevida has a chef that loves what they do and executes to perfection. Food presentation, composition, and flavour was perfect. 5-star quality like I wouldn't expect in the center of Paris, never mind on the shore of Galliano. Beautiful boutique dining room overlooking a grass courtyard, and the ocean. Service was slow with only a few staff, but it really didn't detract from the evening. Dessert was otherworldly good; the first dessert was so good, my husband sprung from his chair and called the server asking for more. A night completed with an espresso and an evening breeze was the romantic getaway evening of our dreams.

We were staying at the Galiano Spa and Resort so the 2nd night went to the Restaurant, good food but the lamb was overcooked. Other than that all good. Great relaxing atmosphere good service. 👍

Stayed at an AirBnB, but dined for dinner at Atrevida as it was recommended by several websites. I enjoyed the spicy Humboldt squid appetizer and that's what saves this review from getting one star. The food's presentation was catchy but failed to deliver. I ordered the duck and it was very chewy and not hot. It seemed like they cooked it immediately and left it sitting out. The skin wasn't succulent at all and this was a very disappointing dish with so much promise. The chicken and mushroom tagliatelle was somewhat flavourful but the chicken was overcooked and the capers were overpowering the mushrooms. I tried to see if there was a new chef who took over to explain this truly disappointing meal but couldn't find that to be the case. We opted to skip desert or ordering another drink and asked for the bill instead. Was also disappointed to see the tip inflation with 20% being the first option. I would not return as there are other spots on the island that were much better on execution. My date and I should have known that Atrevida was not up to par when we walked in for 6pm dinner service on a weekend at the height of summer and were the only two at the restaurant. It didn't seem to matter that they did not have my reservation as we ended up choosing where we wanted to sit. Overall disappointing as time is limited on a vacation and this was a missed opportunity to experience the great cuisine scene that Galiano island has to offer.

Fine dining prices without the fine dining experience. Venison carpaccio, and lamb sirloin were decent. Smoked salmon was excellent but then the salad it was sitting on was mushy and overcooked. Dessert was okay but the sauces were overpowering what you were trying to taste. Especially for the price, there are many other restaurants on Galiano that are better.

Food was good and accommodated my gluten & dairy allergies. The gave me a coconut milk choco panna cotta instead of ice cream for the prime rib dinner dessert course, & it was amazing! The only reason it's not getting higher stars is we had a spa reservation & when I made that reservation, I requested a dinner reservation for the same evening & the woman said she would do that for me no problem! Great! When we Arrived for dinner, there was no reservation & the woman "helping us" was rude, visibly flustered and extremely un-accomodating. It was only with the help of the other two lovely ladies working, both with dark/blk hair, that we were able to get a table! The first woman said there was no way they could fit us in (& gave us complete attitude the whole night) and in 2 mins, the other ladies had put a couple tables together and had wine in our hands! They really saved the day & I hope the resort appreciates everything they do!

This is conveniently located in the galiano inn. This place is fine dining and has magnificent ocean views, and very attentive staff. Reservations are recommended. Food is quite pricey but good. I very much enjoyed my starter: bruschetta with pistachio and baked goat cheese and homemade pesto. I had sablefish for mains, which was delicious. My husband had a vegetarian tagine, which was okayish, but felt like they just took away the meat to make it vegetarian. The spices were too strong and missed the balance. For dessert we had pannocotta made from coconut milk, which was satisfying. Good to see a dairy free option for dessert. Apparently they are famous for wood fired pizza but we visited in low season and the pizza was not on the menu. The best part of the meal was the view.
