we stayed at this hotel for three nights. To start, I found the breakfast hours to be rather late, beginning at 7:30 AM. Considering it’s a large island, anyone wanting to make the most of the day can’t start their outings before 8 AM.
On our first breakfast day, everything went well. However, on the second day, a front desk staff member named Mary Chalday approached me, telling me that my attire was inappropriate. I was wearing a short dress with my swimsuit underneath, which was slightly visible. According to her, this was against the hotel rules, though I hadn’t seen any dress code posted, and no one mentioned anything to me the previous day (and I was dressing EXACTLY THE SAME). While this may be a hotel policy, it felt more like her personal opinion.
Coming from America, I didn’t expect people here in Europe to be so old-fashioned. It seems she’s simply not accustomed to seeing bare legs.
I feel discriminated against.
Such a nice day to start a vacation day.
