Atrium Hotel Ateneu City Center

Perfect if you need good connections everywhere my trip was not only for pleasure I had a few things to solve ,and this quiet place helped a lot.people with high hopes or looking for an exciting place to stay look somewhere else. It is basic but nice basic if you know what I mean 😉 it is clean and safe warm and hot water runs perfectly ....what do you want more?Highly recommended!!!!

This is a very poor hotel experience, and I would strongly advise others, particularly elderly guests, to avoid staying here. Despite having already paid in full through Booking.com, we were forced to pay additional unexpected charges on arrival, described as a “late fee” and a “city centre/city tax.” We were told this was due to a newly introduced Bucharest fee, but this was neither clear nor acceptable, especially after full payment had already been made. We had also informed the hotel in advance that our flight would be delayed due to severe cold weather, so they were aware of our late arrival but the staff did not seem to care. When we entered the room, it was freezing cold. The heating did not work at all. The bed had not been properly made, and the sofa bed was not ready. The bathroom was extremely cold as well. The temperature was so low that when I exhaled, I could visibly see my breath. That is how cold the room was. We raised this with staff, but they showed little concern. Eventually, they brought an electric heater, but it was completely inadequate and did not warm the room. As a result, I could not sleep the entire night. We genuinely suffered. This is not something elderly guests should ever have to endure. Bed and Comfort The bed itself was unacceptable. The quilt was thin and offered no warmth, the mattress was springy and creaking, and the overall experience felt closer to sleeping in a shack than a hotel room. Although tea and coffee were provided, there was no milk and no bottled water. Given the conditions, this was so bizarre; how can you have tea but not have the option for milk. The next morning, the situation did not improve. The coffee machine was not working, the breakfast was cold, and the eggs were completely cold. When we asked for fresh eggs, the request was refused. Thus, we didn't even eat a proper breakfast. This stay was distressing, uncomfortable, and appalling from start to finish. Please save your money and do not stay here, especially if you are elderly or sensitive to cold conditions. This hotel is simply not fit to accommodate guests properly.

At a great central location, still not on the main street, Atrium Hotel Ateneu is a really good choice, if you're visiting for a couple of days for work/holiday. Nothing superfluous fancy, but a good atmosphere, quiet, comfortable rooms and friendly, very helpfull staff. Clean rooms, good breakfast. The neighborhood if full of life, great restaurants, street food, craft beer and bars.

Good location, close to The Romanian Athenaeum (Ateneul Roman). Competent staff. Call ahead for parking, you may be lucky and be able to reserve parking space within.

Sub-par experience. I checked the price for this hotel on their website and it was advertised to be 50ish euro which was fine. When I arrived, however, that room suddenly became unavailable, and the price increased to 70ish eur. Very dodgy tactics. Furthermore, the hotel is old, amortized, with garbage and construction materials were laying in the parking/courtyard. I was also charged for motorcycle parking, which is hilarious, never happened in my 10 years of riding. Bad experience overall.

Severe Warning: Avoid Booking Rooms at This Hotel - Dangerous and Disappointing Experience! I booked two rooms at this hotel - a double room and a triple room. The experience was so terrible that I feel obligated to warn other travelers. The Double Room: Very basic and outdated. Located on the ground floor with a window directly facing the street, creating a sense of lack of privacy and security. The Triple Room: An absolute nightmare from the moment we entered. The staff provided a damaged power cable that caused a severe electrical short, burned the cable itself, and caused a power outage in the hotel. A serious safety hazard! The problems continued to emerge: • The windows in the room could not be opened, preventing any ventilation. • The only window that could be partially opened completely fell apart. • The room was not thoroughly cleaned, unlike the double room which was at least slightly tidied. • A broken window at floor level posed a real danger to my daughters. Staff Conduct: Although the personal service was polite, the response to problems was shocking. The staff shirked responsibility, claiming they couldn’t replace cables, fix windows, or provide an alternative room. Their attitude was essentially “deal with what you have.” The feeling was more like being in a prison than a hotel. In all my years of traveling, including in Romania and other countries, I have never encountered such a terrible and dangerous hotel room. Important to Note: The area where the hotel is located is excellent and completely safe in all respects, but this does not compensate for the terrible rooms. Unequivocal Recommendation: Absolutely avoid booking rooms on the ground floor of this hotel, and under no circumstances book the Triple room. Very nice and helpful staff, grate location, good breakfast, thr room is ok.. Just a little bit cold in the evening, and the air-conditioned was not working.
