Recently dined at Atta Restaurant with my mum and dad, who were visiting from overseas, and it was such a memorable experience. The ambience was warm, elegant, and inviting, perfect for a relaxed family dinner. While all the food was beautifully presented, the garlic naan was the absolute star — honestly, the best I’ve ever had. Soft, fresh, and perfectly garlicky — truly unforgettable. Some dishes like the Channa Chur Garam and Dum Murgh Biryani didn’t quite meet our expectations, and the dessert was a bit too sweet for my taste — though presentation-wise, they all looked great. However, what truly stood out was getting the chance to chat with Harry Dhanjal, one of the main chefs and a founder of Atta. He was incredibly polite, well-spoken, and passionate about his craft. We were seated just beside the kitchen and loved watching him work his magic — such a treat to see someone so engaged and dedicated. Beautiful setting — definitely worth a visit.

Great venue with a really good range of cocktails. Authentic food and well presented. The highlight was the slow cooked Raan which melted in my mouth and had such an amazing burst of flavours. The charcoal chicken was really good too. Desserts just took this place to another level with a well crafted Bharat shaped shahi tukda and gulab jamun, which I've never had in any of my Indian dining experiences in Melbourne.

Big Thank You to ATTA restaurant team..! I celebrated my Husband's 40th birthday at Atta in May 2025...my experience with the team has been more than amazing...I booked the venue and manager Roopali assisted me with the menu selection, decore and drinks. I also did food tasting before selecting the menu. She is very polite, friendly and helped me throughout the event...I had so many queries, requests, suggestions which she handled very well with patience and understanding. It was my first event and very special one which Roopali and the owner Brij handled with ease and patience. All was taken care by Brij and Roopali and I enjoyed with my friends and family. Brij made sure all the kids were served well, he even made changes if kids wanted to eat something not from the slected menu. Brij and the entire Atta team made the event immensely memorable, fun and a night my husband, family and friends will remember. The team was so friendly with kids. Food was excellent, Samosa chat, golgappa, kachori, chicken chettinad, their margaritas are worth giving a shot. I highly recommend this place for indian food, ambience and amazing service from the staff and owner

absolutely loved the ambience. one of those places where good and tasty food is served with elegance. each and every dish is known for its own taste and unique twist. i love their take on gol gappas where they added like popping lemon pearls but didnt really hit the palette well. from chicken to paneer everything was very nice and juicy. 10/10 for the service and attention to the details.

Absolutely incredible food and service. Exquisite dishes I’ve never had and would travel hundreds of kilometres to eat again. Charcoal chicken blew my mind, but everything was 10/10.

Great experience dining at Atta last night. Amazing food, great service, friendly staff and peaceful ambience. We tried a lot of items and the platters looked so beautiful that we hardly remembered to take any pictures, I managed to get a few and upload them for reference. The charcoal chicken was unique and tasted delicious. It indeed is towards the pricey end but worth every penny spent. Cheers!

What an amazing amazing experience. Hats off to the team at ATTA Atta is what I would say a real deal fine dining experience like none other. I had reservations going in because most of the Indian fine dining I’ve tried before were hit and miss (mostly miss) where people think expensive menu with aesthetically plated food is fine dining, but team at Atta is here to prove real fine dining is not dead. Lemme explain everything good about this place and yes it is pricey, dinner for two set me back about $200 something, but boy it was WORTH it. On the night, there was a server in training and this is how training should take place. He was always either observing the main staff, or when he was serving the main staff shadow him to ensure everything is spot on. Each dish is explained carefully while serving and even while ordering the staff is super helpful in choosing what to order all the way down to preferences and level of hungriness (hungriness, is that a real word? But ya reason being we had a late lunch and was not very hungry and they helped us choose the right dishes) Every dish is cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour, the chef is a genius. We can see that on the menu as well as it’s perfectly crafted. Also this was a birthday dinner, so our dessert came out with sparkles ✨ and birthday wishes from the staff. Such a nice touch. Bottom line, don’t miss out on this gem of a place.

Yelp
Likely the best done done Indian in Melbourne. Good food, good service and a pleasant setting not much more to ask for

Yelp
This restaurant might have excellent food, but the fact that their alarm is triggered by a fly ( some one who works there own words) and the alarm CONSTANTLY sounds, twice in one night at times or multiple times during the week suggests to me that there is an issue with insects or perhaps mice! I would not dine there!!

Yelp
The best Indian food I had. Started with dirty samosa, ordered Lamb Chennai, palak paneer and butter chicken with rice and naan. All tasted good! Finished with dark chocolate torte.. was too busy eating that I only took a picture of the entre dirty samosa

Yelp
Where Atta stands now, used to be a Vietnamese restaurant. So when I drove passed Atta two weeks ago and saw the change, it caught my eye, because the restaurant has a gorgeous facade and dim lighting on the inside, making it look stunning at night. I made a mental note of the new name and checked it out the second I got home, only to discover that it has a very impressive menu and I knew I had to try it. As soon as you walk inside, you are warmly greeted by the attentive staff. It's a spacious interior, so you don't feel cramped like in some other restaurants, and the tables are a good size which is always handy if you like to share dishes. The floors are a polished concrete, so your chairs slide in easily and quietly. The music is jazzy and gives you a feel of elegant dinning, though this can also be attributed to the gorgeous white lamps that adorn each table. Though they have the standards you'd expect like samosas, and butter chicken, they also have some more unusual options that you don't often see. For my entree, I chose the Achari Machli which is a twice cooked salmon in a mustard tempered coconut chutney. It was DELICIOUS. Not only was it one of the more exquisite things I've ever eaten, but the presentation was outstanding. It certainly goes above and beyond what you'd find at many other Indian restaurants. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the flavours were heavenly. The entree came out in a reasonable time, and devoured in seconds. For my main, I opted for what I knew I'd like, which is the butter chicken with saffron rice to share and a garlic naan. I asked for it to be prepared mildly and it was. It was so creamy and delicious and the garlic naan was flaky and totally the best naan I've ever had. Everything came out the way we ordered it and in a good time frame and presented beautifully. I guess you can say for sure this is a modern Indian restaurant without a single familiar clay pot or bronzed bowl. The dishes themselves were trendy and the flatware new and elegant. It all made for a very enjoyable meal. I did notice they did just one Uber Eats order, but no other takeouts. This made the kitchen be able to get peoples food out in good time which is always nice anywhere you go. The restaurant absorbs a lot of sound too, so even with almost every table taken, it wasn't too loud and you could enjoy your conversations without having to shout over everyone. The only negative I could possibly add, is that it is just a touch expensive to justify coming here on a regular basis (which makes me sad). It IS in the Entertainment Book, but those vouchers are now long gone. I'd say for this reason, you'd probably keep this as one of those restaurants you come to for an occasion, rather than having it become your go-to pick whenever the craving hits. I have to say though, that overall, it was very hard to fault Atta and I cannot wait to visit again. I highly recommend it if you love Indian food with a slight twist and enjoy a less casual dinning experience.
