Attrus Bed & Breakfast

Room is clean and comfortable, location is great, can walk to the city Sentral mall in 5 mins, and there is a great restaurant just across street. Price is really reasonable for a short term stay. Staff service is acceptable to me, but the restroom area is just unacceptable. Even staff clean the area regularly, everything is just too old and broken, and seems not under maintenance. Another problem is other tentant, many of them does not really consider for others, walk half naked in the hallway, have phone call in the room at 3am, as well as talking loudly in the public area. Last thing, their wifi in the capsule area sucks, at least the wifi in the second floor almost cannot load YouTube videos.

If you’re not fussy, this is definitely the place to go! The room and toilet were very clean, the bed was comfy, and I finally had a good sleep after a while. The location is convenient—close to Customs and with food places nearby. You also get a 10% discount at the hotel’s restaurant, and the food is sooo good. The price is cheap, and I’ll definitely book again next time.

The front desk lady was extremely unprofessional. I checked in on the afternoon of October 24th, and she didn't smile the entire time. She immediately demanded a 10 RM tourism tax. She didn't charge me until I showed her a PDF invoice. The next day, I extended my stay, but since it was a special offer, the PDF tourism tax invoice wasn't included with my reservation. When I returned to the hotel after 10 PM, the same lady stopped me again and demanded a 20 RM tourism tax. Finally, after I showed her my invoice from the previous day and my two-day reservation confirmation, she finally collected the 10 RM tourism tax. I don't mind paying taxes, but the front desk lady's attitude and unprofessionalism left me with a very negative impression of this hotel. It felt like she was trying to rip me off for two days. The hotel's location is excellent, a five-minute walk from JB Train Station. The bedding was a little dirty and worn, but I was fine with turning my pillow over.

The receptionist, Vicky was exceptionally well mannered with a smile on his face. He also kecian me cause I was waiting to check in and as soon the bed is available, he let me check in a bit earlier than usual. We should give kudos to such hospitality, usually I only felt it in Thailand or Vietnam. Malaysia Boleh!

Rooms are not in the best condition, at least the one I stayed in. Had a mouldy smell and the bedding and towel weren’t clean, had stains on them. Appreciated the lockers and blinds for a bit more privacy but overall the place didn’t feel like a hostel, felt more like a short rental apartment. Cubicles are quite small, shower gel and toothbrush provided. Water pressure for some shower cubicles were terrible Would not recommend even if you’re staying for 1 night, it was really noisy at 1am+ with the bikes and live bands performing

The seating area and restroom are clean, so that is convenient. The problem is with the reception staff the young lady there is rude, provides poor service, lacks patience, and does not smile. I have seen her behave rudely to every customer.

Was planning to book the dorms coz this hostel is near the Border but after reading the reviews about the dorms are like the worker's hostel, I changed my mind. I remember staying in similar types of cheap dorms in Japan. It was a hassle to get ready early in the morning coz you have to fight for the toilets, the bathrooms and the mirrors with workers who live longer or like permanently in the dorms. While the Japanese workers were typical Japanese with cleanliness and good attitude, i cant say the same about my own countrymen.
