Atxuri Restaurante

This is a fantastic place and a must try if you're in Cádiz! The food is excellent and might be considered one of the best in the city. The rice in green sauce is just delicious and has a lot of prawns and clams, and the garlic prawns are also great. Besides that, we've also tried some of the tapas in the menu, and they are super nice, especially the Carboncillos de bacalao. For desert, I really recommend the cheesecake and the arroz con leche. The service is also very nice and everyone is kind and friendly and very attentive. This is my 2nd diner in a row and I already booked the 3rd one for tomorrow.

Food was excellent. The veal was extremely soft and one of the best ones I have ever eaten. The mussels in onions and white wine equally tasty. Service was very attentive. The price overall is quite high but worth it.

The restaurant is in a great location with a lot of other food choices, but we decided to give it a try. The food was really amazing with good presentation and excellent service. You can't really go wrong with it. We will be back!

Nice restaurant on a busy street with a lovely outside terrace. We’ve taken stars off for service,although while very friendly, it was too rushed and quick. You’d be in and out for dinner in 40 mins. This is more a starter main course restaurant rather than tapas. But on the pricy side with main courses about €25

Visited during lunch time and because it was very busy inside, I sat outside. The tuna salad had a nice red sauce but the rest was boring and very very fatty. It had too much mayo and I didn’t finish it. The Andalusian cod was delicious, very fresh and cooked perfectly. The service seemed rushed, inattentive and no one spoke any English but I think they could understand my English. At some point a waiter tried to take the cod dish for a reason I couldn’t understand. Then he spoke to my main waiter and he asked me if it’s good to which I said yes. Then he spoke to another waitress to take my plate?! In broken English I think she said that the plate is too hot and if I’m alright with that. Also in the menu with the smaller portions they didn’t have any meat other than pork which I didn’t like. Overall I had much higher expectations and I don’t think I will visit again.

Muchos lugares han cambiado desde 2020, así que busqué algo con reseñas recientes. Otros lugares tenían algunas cosas favorables que decir y como este lugar estaba cerca, lo elegí. El servicio fue atento y servicial con suficiente inglés hablado para salir adelante. Esto no fue una trampa para turistas, no vi a nadie que no se pareciera a familias y parejas locales. Mi comida era excepcional, y el precio muy razonable. Llegó caliente. Un plato de pescado fresco con almejas, una copa de cava, una ración de pan artesano crujiente y un rico postre tipo flan hicieron de esta comida bastante sustanciosa y bastante saciante con una ficha total de 27 euros y cambio. Volvería.

We spent an afternoon in Cadiz, and stumbled upon Atxuri - don't be fooled by the somewhat dark room you fall into when you open the restaurant's door. The main dining room is behind the bar, and, though still dark, is far more elegant. As food the food, I'd highly recommend anything on the fish portion of the menu, with particular points for the tasty sword fish (additional points for the bacalao).
