Enjoyed everything about our meal at this restaurant. Reservations are highly recommended! The host helping us could not find our reservation, and I was baffled until I pulled up the confirmation email only to discover that I had somehow mixed up the time and arrived at 8:00 pm instead of 7:30 pm. Our host was so kind, he went to check and through sheer luck, found an outdoor seat facing the sidewalk. We couldn’t have been more elated. We ordered the foie gras as an appetizer, and each got the beef bourguignon and crème brûlée for dessert. The beef bourguignon was rich and full of beef, potatoes, and carrots. It was a comforting and satisfying dish. The crème brûlée was the perfect way to end the night. Later in the evening, it started to rain. I don’t know what rain-detecting powers the staff had, but before we even felt a single drop, they alerted us and quickly helped move our table and chairs back. We didn’t feel a drop of rain the entire time. We were very pleased with the attentive staff and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.

So good that we came here twice for dinner in our 4 nights in Paris! Very tourist friendly but not a tourist trap. All the waitstaff speak English and are so friendly and dedicated to their job. Paul was our server for both nights and he was a 10000/10! Very attentive, funny, personable and just plain adorable. Our favourite dishes were the beef bourguignon, ham terrine, roasted sea scallops and crème brûlée! The best we’ve ever had! All the food was so refined, balanced, flavourful, fresh and beautifully presented.

We made a reservation which I think is a good plan if you intend to dine here. I had heard rave reviews of Au Bourguignon, namely for their signature beef bourguignon and decided to try it out. The staff were all lovely! Super helpful, friendly, and kind. In fact, a woman at the table next to us who was diabetic had a diabetic episode and basically fainted at the table and the staff was very quick to react. We started with the onion soup and eggs mimosa with white summer truffle. The eggs were absolutely divine. The soup was good but not up to my standards which are really high. I make exceptionally great French onion soup at home and thought this one was a bit bland in comparison. We split an order of the beef bourguignon, which I think was smart since we also had appetizers and it was a large serving. The beef was fantastic! It truly lived up to my expectations and I can see why this restaurant is so highly regarded in Paris as a spot to get great beef bourguignon. If that's on your wish list for Paris dining, then this is a great spot to sample this cozy dish. All in all, I would happily recommend Au Bourguignon du Marais!

We made a reservation for this place on a whim and it is definitely recommended. It gets filled up fast so definitely make a reservation. The service was decent, the servers not toooo attentive but they are funny when they’re interacting with each other. The food was delicious! The steak was cooked how I wanted it and was really good. The au jus went really well with the steak and the potatoes were good. The French onion soup was delicious and the fish was top notch as well. The ambiance is great, small little fresh restaurant with a big area that is hidden. Only complaint is the pricing vs the portion sizes especially if most/everything was sourced locally. Besides that, everything was 9/10!

We ordered three things, the snails, their famous beef bourguignon, and for dessert, the profiteroles with vanilla ice cream. The snails were soft, buttery, and kinda fun to eat. Not bad at all for my first time trying them. The beef bourguignon though… that was deep. Rich flavor, The meat was tender, almost melting into the sauce. I kinda wished for one more bite when it was over. Then came the dessert... the profiteroles. That one stole the night. Cold vanilla ice cream stuffed inside light pastry, sitting in a puddle of warm fudge. And the tiny almond bits on top? That little crunch made it perfect. Service was friendly without being pushy, and the place just felt cozy, very Paris-y in the best way. Would definitely go back just for that dessert.

Google
The food was good, i got the bourguignon though and I can say I def had a lot better but it wasn’t bad. The escargot was not bad but also not the best. I would probably say the area of improvement is to check on the customers, we waited 30 mins for the check bc no one even passed by us. But the waitress was so nice and showed us an easy way to get home when we told her the train we planned on taking

Google
Very enjoyable dinner with lovely waitress who helped us get tables with minimal wait despite a full house, many thanks! She was friendly and professional, making the dining experience absolutely pleasant. Started with onion soup with a lovely crust of cheese and escargot which came in adorable cups and tasted delicious. Had the beef tartare as a main dish which was very well seasoned and appetising which left us wanting more despite its generous portions, and the signature beef stew which had delicious chunks of beef inside a rich sauce that goes well with the potatoes and bread. Finished off strong with the chocolate tart which was creamy and luxurious and the profiteroles which were absolutely amazing! The crust was crisp and piping hot, and the ice cream (I think from berthillon?) Was creamy and had a lovely flavour of vanilla.

I couldn't get a reservation the day before for dinner but walked in and got a table outside immediately (in winter). The service is impeccable, top class. Waiter spoke perfect precise English. We had the onion soup, beef bourguignon, beef tartare and pear poached in wine. All were superb quality. Their beef bourguignon is worthy of being the restaurants namesake. The house red wine was really excellent for a house pour and paired with the bourguignon perfectly. Onion soup and poached pear were destroyed before remembering to take pictures 😅

Yelp
I found this little cozy restaurant when I was in Paris. It is clean and well maintained. I ordered their main courses- Beef Bourguignon and Confit Duck leg. For dessert I ordered - Vanilla of bourbon Crème Brûlée. Everything that I ordered were delicious! Beef chunks were tender with good tangy flavor from stew and bacon. Duck confit was so so good! It had great seasoning with au jus and pan fried potatoes. Loved this one; my favorite. The staff speaks English well and they kept refilling our water bottle. Met with their manager and she was the one assigned table for us even though we did not have any reservations that night for dinner. She was really nice with smiles and everyone was welcoming there. I was so glad to try this restaurant. Highly recommend this restaurant in Paris!

Yelp
We were somewhat lucky to get a seat on a Friday night at around 8:15. Unfortunately it turned out their gluten free options were less than expected. Began with escargots which came in a parsley butter sauce, so not sure why they weren't GF. The snails were good but one was quite gritty. The other entree, the salmon and prawn terrine was a little dry - it could have used a sauce; it wasn't my favorite. For the plats, one was the lamb leg steak. Unfortunately it didn't come with a sauce because the sauce isn't gluten free, so the meat was dry, yet very well cooked - not too well nor too rare. It came with a large bowl of very thin haricots verts, and three potato chips. The other was the sea bass in a pumpkin puree with a weird brick of risotto. The risotto was rather flavorless and had a sticky consistency. The fish was large and well cooked but lacked flavor (the pumpkin sauce really didn't add any); just some fresh lemon juice would have helped. The two red Burgundies listed as "must haves" were quite good.

Yelp
Today there was a snow storm in Paris! I knew beef Bourguigne was the answer. Based on Yelp reviews I found this restaurant. Everything was perfect from the window table to the service to the wine to the meal to the desert. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Food: 4.5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Just as the name goes, this place has good beef bourguignon, not the best one I had but came close. The juice was less thinker and portion could be better. Also ordered duck confit and it tasted also great but it was a bit expensive for what I got. Server was very nice and attentive. Overall experience was great and I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Amazing meal! Perfect for a treat with super rich but flavorful Beef Bourguignon which is a house specialty. The beef was soso tender while the broth so umami. We also loved their unique Duck dish in curry sauce. The Escargots were very buttery and herb, delicious with their bread, while the Melon Gazpacho was very refreshing. Profiteroles for dessert were perfect as well. We really had a wonderful time dining here and definitely reccommend.

Yelp
Came here to try their specialty, boeuf bourguignon. And it was delicious! Sat outside on the lovely patio, very Parisian style. We made reservations, but I think if you come early enough for dinner, you might be OK, as the locals tend to eat dinner later at 8pm. The service was really good. My friend spoke French in ordered that way, and I spoke English and ordered with English. If you're visiting France, I think you need to try at least five of the core dishes, which includes their specialty here! The dish isn't too expensive (little splurge) but you can always just pair it with an inexpensive wine. Also nice that they were open in August, when many places will close. Don't forget, 'bonsoir' after 6pm.

Yelp
There was plenty of table to even I stopped by kind of late for lunch. The service was good! A bit hot while you're sitting outside but it's fun to watch people. I mainly picked the items that are recommended by the reviews. While it was good, I do think it's a little pricey. The duck was the highlight of the meal.

Yelp
In Marais area, more touristy due to the location but good stop for eat and drink if you need a break from shopping in the afternoon. Friendly, no wifi, stop by for the Sweetbread and Mushroom puff pastry - it was slightly on the lukewarm side so it was little disappointing unfortunately.
google avatar

Ivy C.

Yelp
Service was generally fine, and the food was flavorful, though the beef bourguignon was served slightly cold. Additionally, as tipping in Paris is not customary in the same way it is in the U.S., the way gratuity was addressed felt a bit uncomfortable. A more relaxed approach would have made the experience more enjoyable.

Yelp
Came here for dinner after a long exhausting day exploring the beautiful city of Paris! We were one of the last few to enter the restaurant while they were in closing mode (at 8:45). You'd be fine with walk-in on weekdays. Our servers quickly got our order which included Tiramisu with Smoked Trout and Avocado (tasty!), a very flavorful Beef Bourguignon, and Lamb Shank! Food was overall really tasty and service was quick. Food arrived within 25-mins of ordering. Noise levels were on the lower end.

Yelp
We had a reservation and was seated outside as soon as we arrived. The service and food were excellent. The specialty of the house is Beef Bourguignon. Truly the most tender beef I have had and full of flavor. It's a must try!!
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in Paris! Their French onion soup in my opinion is the best in Paris! Great service and ambience!! Their steak and fries are amazing! I had the filet of beef!

Yelp
One of the best spots to eat inbthe Marais. Friendly service, fun vibe, and outstanding food with a focus on the classic cuisine of Burgundy. The onion soup ia remarkable a d perfectly executed: from its rich and flavorful broth, to the perfect balance if melted comte/gruyere cheese. Their bread is always fresh and the perfect mop to sop up what cannot be spooned out. The beef Bourguigon is incredible comfortable food, again so rich the melting meet is perfectly blended with the hearty wine. A must go spot.

Yelp
This place came recommended from a friend and for good reason. They speak English but don't treat you poorly if you do. But beyond this cute bistro was the food. The beef bourguignoin was outrageously good. I'm not sure I can have another somewhere else. Perfection. But then the profiteroles were actually even better with chocolate sauce and plenty of ice cream. Beware: this version comes with almonds. Service was efficient and we would towlly recommend.

Yelp
High quality French restaurant serving traditional Burgundy cuisine. I started off with the escargot (€12) - it came with 6 large snails with some herbs and butter and was very tasty. The restaurant's specialty dish is the Beef Bourguignon (€25), so I felt obligated to get it- and it was indeed quite good, cooked in the traditional iron pot. I don't know if it was as amazing as everyone says as there wasn't anything particularly special, but it was very good nonetheless. The beef was very tender, the potatoes and mushrooms were cooked well, and the stew was flavorful, albeit maybe slightly on the salty side. The restaurant has a nice polished vibe with plenty of natural light. The staff are friendly and attentive. The service speed is quick. There is both outdoor patio seating as well as plenty of indoor seating. Overall, Au Bourguignon du Marais is a great option for traditional French cuisine in a nice environment not too far from Hôtel de Ville.

Yelp
Nice service and cute enough ambiance but you're here for the good. incredibly delicious french onion soup, escargots and of course their signature boeuf bourguignon. i would swim in that gravy. very generous portions and reasonably priced. tap water is provided for free.

Yelp
Au Bourguignon du Marais came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. The beef bourguignon was delicious - hearty and warm with plenty of bread to dip. We finished our meal off with the profiteroles which were SO good. The staff was friendly and like a well-oiled machine.
google avatar

Yelp
Yes. Excellent. And yes, get the beouf bourguinon, perché non? It was super, after an excellent onion soup. A hearty meal without any frippery or unnecessary show. White linen dining bit simple dishes well and heartily done
google avatar

Yelp
We had reservations and sat outside, which made for a lovely atmosphere. The food was outstanding the beef bourguignon was the star of the night, truly melt-in-your-mouth delicious and full of flavor. Also tried the duck, it was good but nothing spectacular. Overall, a fantastic dining experience highly recommend!
google avatar

Trang T.

Yelp
Every dish that we ordered were excellent. The herbs are so fragrant in the escagots. Escagots are big and crunchy. I like the octopus dish the most. I can't imagine the wild rice risotto can be cooked that soft and the octopus, oh man, it's to die for. Beef bourguignon is rich and seems like it was cooked in red wine mostly. The choux cream is crunchy with vanilla bean ice cream. Its dark chocolate sauce is not sweet at all. The sorbet is made from thickened fruit sauce. The employees are very warm welcoming and happy with customers. We'll definitely come back when we visit Victor Hugo house next time.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite meals while in Paris. Everyone of the table ordered bouf bourguignon, obviously. We also had escargot, salads, and some very delicious wine.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was top notch. Attentive staff and very welcoming. Nice ambience and we had the French onion soup and beef Bourguignon was amazing. Tender, flavorful and a nice portion. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
This was, without a doubt, the biggest disappointment of our trip--especially given the high ratings and glowing reviews that led us here. Unfortunately, the experience has made me question the reliability of online rankings. The meat was extremely tough and unpleasantly chewy--far from the tender, flavorful dish we were expecting. We had far better culinary experiences at other, less-hyped restaurants. Even the profiteroles, which we hoped would redeem the meal, were dry and uninspiring. Overall, this visit was a letdown from start to finish. I wouldn't recommend it, and I won't be relying so heavily on reviews in the future.

Yelp
Great authentic French restaurant in a calm area of Paris , we really enjoyed it here and finished every dish completely. We tried the snails which were good and tasty with some bread. We also tried the French onion soup ( or just onion soup ?) which was fantastic and the best I have had so far , will come back just for the soup. We also tried the beef stew which was great to try once , the beef was juicy and perfectly cooked with flavorful stew that you can dip some French baguette in. Lastly we tried the filet which was cooked well but nothing special and the cream brûlée which was okay , I wouldn't recommend it. Overall, everything was fantastic and authentic, service was great and food came out quick. If you don't have reservations, you might end up sitting outside in the cold so book ahead. I also tried the recommended red wine which went well with the beef stew. Highly recommend this spot

Yelp
Fabulous beef bourgeon and the Chablis was perfect! Our server was so kind and sweet. Our 4th time here and can't wait to come back again.

Yelp
Loved my Boeuf Bourguignon I had on my trip to Paris last Spring!! They did not disappoint!! So tender and delicious! I went gain on my most recent trip last October because it was that good! I also recommended this restaurant to my brother and his family who were in Paris last week. They also raved about their meals! I

Yelp
The staff is very nice we just try to walk in for brunch , the food was so flavorful and not pricey. For the ambiance maybe if you have advance reservation you will get a seat inside the area of restaurant with a good ambiance since we're just walk in we just got a seat on the side of door entrance though there is still a lot of table available inside.

Mitch M.

Yelp
You have to go here and try the Bourguignon! It was amazing. It was my favorite meal. If you are a meat and potatoes kind of person, you will love it. The wine was delicious also. Very nice evening. Go early or make reservations.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant in Le Marais. Beef Bourguignon is served in a cast iron pot and recommended wine was excellent. Salmon dish was also excellent seating in and out. Reservation should be made, but they were able to seat us after a short wait.

Yelp
We were excited to try this restaurant, especially the signature dish- the boeuf bourguignon. I have fond memories of eating a boeuf bourguignon elsewhere on a previous trip to Paris. We had reservations but had to wait 15 minutes outside, as they were very busy. So busy, in fact, that throughout the evening, I watched the servers and hostess running back and forth and many parties without reservations being turned away. While I appreciate the hustle, it seemed very hectic and chaotic and service was slow anyway. The tartare de daurade starter we had was very good, setting us up for high hopes for the signature dish. Unfortunately, once it arrived after a long wait, it was overall disappointing. Some of the beef pieces were burnt on the outside and so tough and dry, not enjoyable at all. The sauce was not thickened and was greasy and bland. The portion was pretty big. We wished we had shared one and tried another main, but we each got one. As others have mentioned, the bread was quite hard. Took all my strength to tear it. The restaurant is beautiful, both inside and outside. Too bad the food didn't live up to expectations.

Yelp
If you are looking for the best Beef Bourguignon in Paris, you may have just found it! After researching the subject we located this great restaurant and worked it into our plans for a healthy walk after a day and the Louvre Museum. We walked alone the Seine and I think it was about 20 minutes. We were seated immediately and the restaurant itself is quite pleasant, as with many restaurants in Paris there was an upstairs and the rest room were under the restaurant, all very nice. But the staff is where this place shines, very attentive and fast as they bring your food and drinks very quickly. The food is great, and you'll get a solid meal here.

Yelp
*they speak English* Came last night for dinner service. We came at 7:16 ona. Wednesday evening and it wasn't too busy yet. Most tables were filled but we could get a seat without a wait. We came with a baby in a stroller and they were very accommodating. The ambiance is very nice. Lots of patio chairs on a quieter street. Our waitress was amazing. She was so nice and clearly very busy but would help us with anything we needed. She spoke very good English so I didn't have to struggle with my very basic French. The food was fantastic. For our last night in Paris I couldn't ask for more. We started with escargot and onion soup. The French onion soup was the best one that I had on the trip. The escargot was delicious and my wife wanted to take shots of the sauce. For our mains my wife got the beef bourginoun (which is their specialty) and I got the beef tartar. Both were excellent but the beef bourginoun was next level. The fries were also very good. Ambiance: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Food: 5 stars Overall: 5 stars

Yelp
Good food and nice neighborhood in the Marais area of Paris. Known for its namesake beef entree, happy to report it was one of my favorite vegetarian dinners in Paris!

Yelp
I'm 31 and from the United States. This is the best food I've ever had in my entire life. I love my country. Our food is not good and I did not know that for sure until now. I've got two more days in Paris and I hope to eat here on both of them. 10/10 would recommend

Yelp
Best French onion soup ever. Waiter was really friendly. The beef bourguignon was amazing.

Yelp
Both my wife and I were very under the weather and all we wanted was Onion Soup. We stopped in here around 4pm and ordered 2 soups. The soup was tasty without too much salt. Very balanced broth and the bread was tasty too.

Yelp
Wow... And admittedly I'm a tourist, I'm in France, of course if I like a French staple I'm gonna hunt it down. And it didn't disappoint. Huge chunks of beef, smothered in sauce, veggies and mushrooms that satisfied the craving and met expectations of a luxurious indulgent stew. Personally I'd pass on the escargot... good, not what they are known for... and TBH not really in season early March. The desserts, they were fine, nothing to dazzle but nothing to complain about... we just kept thinking of the bourguignon... Service excellent customer in my experience. Can get a bit crowded, but I personally think it's part of the charm. There's of course other fine entrees we saw pass by such as seared scallops that looked divine, but I'd say stick with the staple.

Samantha M.

Yelp
Love this restaurant. Excellent people watching if you sit outside, though inside is also lovely. The food is good no matter what you get!

Yelp
It was really cold, and my friend and I were looking for a place to have onion soup. It was really good here! They're very busy, so mere a reservation. They were nice enough to charge my phone for me.

Lovely quaint atmosphere in Le Marais! Excellent service- Definitely will return- The photos tell it all!

Yelp
This was my first time ever eating Beef Bourguignon, which I shared with my brother. The meat fell apart as my fork aptly attempted to cut. No need for a knife. We ordered fries for dipping into the ohhh so delicious sauce. It was a memorable meal that I probably won't be able to duplicate in the US.

Yelp
Au bourguignon du Marais in the Le Marais district is one of the recommended restaurant if you are craving or wanted to try beef bourguignon. They earned the reputation of authentic bourguignon using burgundy and wide selections of burgundy wines. The restaurant walls are retractable for Al fresco dining during summer. It's an ideal Parisian dining experience to see the world pass by while enjoying your dinner. We started with a bottle of French red wine together with 6 large burgundy snails and duck foie gras with toasts, served with organic fig Jam to share. Both dishes are delicious and perfect for sharing. Since it was our first dinner in Paris we decided to have a light dinner and shared their famous specialty of beef bourguignon with baby potatoes, bacon bits, and mushrooms. We found the dish filling for two people, it was cooked to perfection and it was worth the travel to Le Marais. Try to visit this place when in Paris, you won't be disappointed.
