Best Chinese restaurant Vaud . Always delicious and good service compared to other asiatique restaurants. It's quite expensive but I prefer to come once or twice a year for best quality food then eating whatever Chinese food around. Since 2009 | know this restaurant. They are de best. Thank you for having us.

Among the Asian restaurants I have had in Europe this ranks as one of top ones I had. First the place is fantastic with a koi pond and a river that runs under a footbridge. The dim sum was ok but at least made from scratch in-house - they just need to take it out of the steamer sooner. The duck was surprisingly super delicious. Imagined a french Swiss duck then Peking. Crispy skin, delicious juicy meat. They took all of the fat out due to the desires of the local customers. Tell them to leave it, and it takes a lot of work to extract the fat. Love it and hope to be back soon. Also very creative tea drinks that are delicious.

Fantastic Chinese restaurant in the Flon area. The dishes are all great but the basil chicken in particular is one of the best dishes I've ever had.

This place is an all time favourite of mine and my family. We’ve been going there since I was a child for celebrations, birthdays… or simply because we wanted to ! As an adult, this is still one of my most cherished places; the staff is one of the friendliest I’ve ever seen, the decoration is fantastic, but let’s not forget the food ! I’ve never been disappointed by anything I’ve ever ordered (even though I recommend their roasted duck and basil chicken !). It’s tasty and elegant… Wow ! ✨

After travelling around Europe on this trip, and went to a lot of chinese restaurants, was really amazed that the chinese food here taste the best, tasty and appetizing. You get a taste of Hong Kong cuisine without travelling to Hong Kong. The ambience is superb. A real fine dining experience.

The food was excellent, it tasted good. I really like the orange beef and this mixed vegetable really suits my Chinese taste. The service staff was very warm and the dessert châtaigne was delicious. It's nice to come here with friends on a day that's not too busy.

Probably the best Chinese restaurant in Lausanne and surrounding. Excellent duck. Friendly and welcoming staff. It was a pleasure eating here and I recommend it wholeheartedly. We’ll be back soon. Thank you

Yelp
I don't usually write reviews, but wow. We called the restaurant wondering where to park, and not only was Ken very helpful, he came out to the parking garage, helped us park & walked us inside. Not to mention, we showed up 45 minutes before closing! The service was INCREDIBLE! On top of that, this has got to be the best meal i've ever had. The dumplings were incredible, the crispy noodles were incredible, the Canard Pekinois was incredible. Aswell had the best vegetable spring rolls i've ever tasted. For dessert we tried the mango sorbet and as expected- it was delicious. I also got the fresh fruit and it was very fresh and tasty. Inside, the restaurant is beautiful. Perfectly clean, beautiful artwork and a gorgeous Koi pond inside. If I wasn't in Lausanne visiting from the US, I would eat here every chance I get. Amazing restaurant, incredible meal, unmatched service.

Yelp
It could have been better is the description of Yelp when it comes to a ** rating, and I agree, my dining experience a few days go does not deserve more than 2 stars and could have been much better, as it was always the case before at the Canard Pékinois. I am a casual customer of this establishment, I ate there dozens of times since it opened, and when I stop over in Lausanne, it is one of my "to go" place to eat with my friends. On the evening of the 26th of January 2024, during a stepover between California and Lausanne, I asked a very close friend to join me for diner. She is a mom of 2 school age children holding a very busy high executive job and she was looking forward to spending a couple of hours with me to catch up over her favorite food: duck! before returning home to be with her kids before their bedtime. To make sure she could, she left her job early and we reserved our table for opening time, at 19h:00. We arrived on time. We were ready to spend an hour or so together, catching up and eating a great meal. The food is always a sure thing at the Canard Pékinois and their duck is excellent. Unfortunately for us, the evening didn't go as well as we hoped, to no fault of the food, and entirely to the fault of our waiter. This never happened to me before, the staff was always as good as the food. It started fine, him welcoming us, ladies, to diner. My friend and I chatted for a few minutes, reviewed the familiar menu, and landed on the duck, as usual. The waiter felt a bit condescending explaining the various ways of eating duck. We already knew the difference between both ways of serving it but we listen just the same, politely. In the end he was doing his job even if he should have stopped when we told him that we knew the difference between the two dishes. We placed our order around 19h:10 and started catching up. Customers arrived, soon the restaurant was full, people were eating and chatting away and we were waiting and waiting and waiting some more. The goal of the evening was to catch up while eating, not wait for food while catching up. Around 20h:00, on his own accord, our waiter stopped by our table and apologized for the delay, blaming "they" (no idea who "they" were) for forgetting our order. He assured us that the order had been placed again and that we would be eating shortly... and he disappeared to serve other patrons. We asked a waitress if we could, (as all other tables had) get some shrimp chips to curve our appetite, and we got 5! After his apology we were expecting our entrees to be in front of us within minutes as he doesn't take long for a Chinese restaurant to produce spring rolls and a Chinese salad. Wrong! The entrees arrived 20 minutes later. At this point we had been waiting for 95 minutes, drinking tea while eating 5 chips. Customers who arrived after us were leaving. I politely flagged him down. He didn't like that AT ALL, he came rushing to our table as a bull ready to charge, upset that we had the audacity (so it seems) to call him again, asking for our main course. I told him that we were hungry and I asked if he could please bring us our duck. You think that at this point contrition and apology would be in order on his part but "no", he doubled down on us, pointing to our empty entrées plates and dead candles on the plate warmer asking us what we were complaining about considering that we just ate our entrees... 15 minutes ago! Clearly, he was trying to impress customers and the waitress looking very embarrassed next to our table. It was totally disrespectful on his part; it had an undertone of condescending misogynistic attitude that frankly women no longer want to be put under in the 21st century, any women, let alone a high-ranking executive of a large Swiss conglomerate who wouldn't dare speak to her "collaborateurs and collaboratrices" in such a fashion, regardless of their age or gender. Both my friend and I agreed that had we been with our husbands, the waiter would not have had this paternalistic condescending attitude towards us. By the end of the evening, pushing 21h:00 on the clock, at bill settling time, we were expecting an apology, maybe the offer for a free coffee or for a free dessert. Nothing, our waiter barely made eye contact with us. He collected his 150 francs and zero tip on my part. Too bad for him because I always tip in addition to the bill, despite service being included. He missed a 20 that evening for being a certified (you know what) toward us and neither my friend nor I will ever set foot in this establishment again. We will take our business to Saint-Sulpice or Vevey. The sad part is that I recommended this restaurant to my friends and family in the US and at home in Switzerland and I shouldn't have. All could have been forgiven had our waiter been mature enough to apologize and make amend. I think his management should look into this because as he doesn't match the rest of his team.

Yelp
Expensive would be the word to sum up this place. Although Switzerland is never easy on the wallet, I can't say this place was of value. Inside it is beautifully decorated and clean. The staff has a nice smile and the food looks very appetizing. We ordered easy menu B which has an appetizer, two main plates and a small dessert. For 56 francs a person l, I think the portion should have been much more generous. The food was tasty but I wouldn't eat here unless I hadn't had Chinese food in 20 years and wanted to eat it on my birthday...having won the lottery.

Yelp
We ordered a tasty mixture of Dim Sum steamed dumplings and fried prawns as a starter. Friends enjoyed yummy sweet sour chicken + vegetables dish which was served in a hollowed out pineapple. Other friend liked chicken with crispy fried basil leaves meal! Well! It's a Canard Pékinois specialty! Green Chinese vegetables cooked with garlic cloves and minced thinly into garlic chips were delicious! They have plenty of different teas from green to yellow and the white one we chose was excellent. Service was friendly and attentive and dishes were freshly prepared! however food was greasy and it's excessive expensive!!! Restaurant is nicely decorated with Chinese furniture, porcelain jar, aquarium and small Chinese bridges. They even exhibited an Asiatic music instrument called Gu-zheng.

Yelp
Wonderful! Best experience on our two week vacation in Europe. The restaurant is hidden away in a plaza but very centrally located. We came here for lunch and the price is very agreeable for the ambiance and food considering how relatively expensive Switzerland is compared to neighboring countries. The service is absolutely amazing. The waiter even gave us detailed instructions on where to go to in Lausanne for a short tour

Yelp
Great atmosphere, service, and tasty authentic Chinese food. Coy fish ponds and covered waterways where the fish swim through beneath various aisles in the restaurant. Nicely decorated.

Yelp
Have since gone back and ordered a different menu, at 80 francs /pax. Excellent throughout, with the exception of dessert, which was simply sorbet ice with some ginger pieces and cream (but whoever goes to a Chinese restaurant for the dessert??). Much better to drink beer too. We were all very pleased with everything.

Yelp
The best Chinese restaurant in Geneva lake area, nice deco to bring business friends also.
