We spent two nights at this lovely B&B and wish we could have stayed longer. Sylvie and Denis are the consummate hosts. Friendly, welcoming, helpful... and they serve the most wonderful breakfasts! As we are from BC, the delicious French toast with maple syrup from their friend's sugar shack was a special treat! We loved the area as well. If we lived closer, we would definitely be returning. Thank you, Sylvie and Denis, for your warm hospitality!

My wife and I have stayed here twice, both times in the Boho Suite, and we've enjoyed ourselves greatly both times. Once was in June, and the other in late November. Our hosts were kind and courteous and very helpful, and the atmosphere here is friendly and relaxed. The room is quite nice and very roomy, and for our needs it was just perfect. Breakfast was great all four morning, especially the one morning that the weather allowed us to eat outdoors. The location is great, too--it's a very short walk to the downtown area, and an even shorter walk to the lakeside park, Pointe-Merry, where we love to go for walks any time of the day. We definitely will stay here again when we go back to Magog.

They were two of the best hosts we've ever had the pleasure of staying with. Both so friendly and welcoming. It felt like home. The place is clean, cozy and comfortable. Breakfast in the little dining room was exceptional and the attention to detail made it just a little more special. Thanks so much for everything!!!

I traveled to Magog with two friends and we found the perfect retreat from daily life at Sylvie and Denis' charming B&B. My room was La Zen, which was cozy but felt spacious, with a comfortable bed, and enjoyed two good nights' sleep. But the highlights were amazing 4-course breakfasts on the shaded patio, and a refreshing pool for soaking the effects of heat and humidity away! They paid careful attention to my food allergies, and presented each course with eye appeal as well as wonderful flavor. Thank you for a perfect respite from daily living!

We had the sweetest two night stay at Coq du Bonheur. We chose to come to Magog because we could see on the map that it would be at the center of the totality for the eclipse. We had no idea what the town would be like and hadn't really scrutinized the B and B options too carefully. We were just thrilled that all three of their rooms were available as we were traveling with our son and friends. Right away my phone interactions with Denis and Sylvie were delightful and I had a very good feeling about their place. A few weeks before the eclipse Sylvie surprised and delighted us with an email telling us she had purchased us eclipse glasses! When we arrived we discovered what a great location Coq au Bonheur was in. Just minutes from the big park (where we watched the eclipse) with walking paths alongside beautiful Lake Memphremagog and the very nice downtown of Magog so we could walk to the excellent restaurants there. |Everything at Coq du Bonheur was PERFECT. And the breakfast was off the charts! Best we've ever had at any B and B. A four course breakfast, with freshly made smoothies, an expertly cooked gourmet egg dish, homemade loaf bread, and excellent coffee. |All of our interactions with Sylvie and Denis were so positive and friendly. They are attentive but not fussy. They are very genuine people who clearly like people. |Now that we have discovered Magog and the Eastern Townships of Quebec, we will be back! And there is no doubt we will stay at Coq du Bonheur!

Denis and Sylvie are incredible hosts! We loved the space - so cozy and comfortable. We also loved how close we were to everything. We walked to dinner and all around town. The breakfast was also incredible! We cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
This was undoubtedly one of the very best B&B stays we've ever had. Hands down. As a matter of fact, I am surprised that with the truly outstanding ratings in competing review sites, there were no reviews for this venue in Yelp. So hopefully there will be one. We planned a ski trip to the Eastern Townships in Quebec, where there are several hidden gems in the world of skiing. We decided to visit two, Orford and Bromont, all on the western side of Lake Memphremagog. As we like B&Bs instead of hotels in order to savor local culture, we looked at several travel sites and came up with Le Coq du Bonheur in the town of Magog, at the Northern edge of the sprawling lake. Le Coq du Bonheur is a four-bed home located three short blocks from the restaurant and shopping district in Magog and in addition, two blocks from the lake shore and boat docks. It's uniquely located as close as you'd want to the tourist and entertainment district and still be able to have a good night sleep. The guest rooms are upstairs, each with private bath, excellent mattresses, and attractive furnishings. During the summer, the venue has a swimming pool too. Downstairs, a large living room with a beautiful antique jukebox compliment the attractive room. Magog is a bicyclist, hiker and nature lovers' summer paradise and it is obvious the owners gear their efforts by outwardly welcoming cyclists. The B&B also has a solarium/veranda where they invite guests to partake of their sumptuous breakfasts. Anyone looking to have a B&B should look up Louise and Richard, the innkeepers, to learn how to run a B&B in a truly exemplary manner. Every detail was cared for and we got an amazing night's sleep. The next morning, we enjoyed one amazing sit-down breakfast, featuring a double French Toast with bacon and cheese topped with fruit and maple syrup. The selections also included juice, fresh fruit, a smoothie, and an amazing breakfast chocolate dessert. Wow. A unique location in the midst of some of the most quaint and beautiful areas in North America.
