We went for an evening meal at Au Fil de L’eau last night. Lovely table by the River Dronne, very friendly smiley waiting staff. Great aperitifs, served with a delicious smoked salmon mousse & cucumber canapé. My husband is a professional chef & said he really liked his starter, from the specials board but it needed more seasoning. I had the salmon & tuna tataki, which I enjoyed. For mains, he had the trio of river fishes cassoulet but he said the sturgeon had such a strong flavour, it wiped out the dish sadly. My confit of duck was lovely but I wish the skin had been crispy. He had the cheese & nut salad but didn’t like the texture of the goats cheese. My crème brûlée was lovely, had a thin crisp top but needed a bit more vanilla, fresh vanilla pod would’ve made it perfect. Lovely location, lots of ducks & sparrows cane to say hi & eat bread. Nice atmosphere. Just a few tweaks to the dishes would be great!

While carrying our pram with our baby down the steps, my partner and I were shouted at with 'ALLEZ' by a staff member. This was completely unnecessary and left us feeling very unwelcome. We have visited this town every year and had hoped for a pleasant experience, but unfortunately this interaction has made us doubtful we will return to this restaurant.

Arrive at 12:30 for a gourmet lunch served on the bank of the river Dronne. The menu caters for all tastes and wallets. The position next to the river provides a splendid backdrop creating the perfect ambience. The staff are polite, friendly and attentive. A restaurant well worth a visit.

We had a fabulous meal although veggie options are limited. It is in a lovely setting. Great staff.

Main courses are really poor. Deserts were splendid. Service was slow (1.45 min for 2 courses). The setting is nice. Overall greatly overrated restaurant.

Food very expensive as quality of food was poor. Duck was dry, linqine not alot of sauce hardly any trout very poor and the food was not hot. Had plate dejour last week at another restaurant with wine and cost 19 euros for 3 courses much better quality than this restaurant which cost 60 euros ahead.

Food was delicious ! A bit pricey but it comes with the view and quietness. Worth a visit :)

Nice lunch in a lovely town. Service a bit frantic with too many covers and they served me something I hadn't order. Sad for the price

Yelp
Wouldn't go back. The setting is nice but the rest of the package is poor. Allegedly owned by the Moulin dAbbaye which is superb so it's a bit of a disappointment.
