"While bopping around Mile End, don’t miss this quaint jewel box focused on supplies for paper arts like origami or bookbinding; it also stocks a good selection of art-supply basics in a pinch." - Coolstuff Team

Simply put, one of Montreal’s best-kept secrets since 1992–93. I remember going when I was still an art student and spending hours flipping through paper, leaving with a few paper offcuts I’d later use for collages and paintings. It’s basically a candy store for paper addicts :D Now, as a graphic artist, it’s both a source of inspiration and a pure guilty pleasure.

This place is fascinating for handmade paper, it feels almost like a museum. Everywhere you look, there’s something interesting to discover about the art and craft of paper.

Best service of my life. Had to bring the paper back 30 minutes on bike, so they decided to wrap the paper in a tube of cardboard and a string so that I can carry it. 10/10 people.

Stumbled upon the shop on a walk around Mile End. A bookbinder’s / printmaker’s dream store. 🥲 such a great curation of papers, stationery, books, ceramics, and more. the staff were so lovely as well. Happily walked out (after some restraint) with a good book and paper for my next project. I only wish they had an online store so I can order from BC… I guess I just have to keep coming back to Montreal ⚜️

Cute little shop that sells beautiful silky and colorful Japanese paper. The owners were super nice and very helpful.

Google
A beautiful little shop in Montreal. They had a large selection of vibrant Japanese papers, craft supplies, brushes & reading material on the subject. I have my piece hanging on the wall now and hope to visit again every time i'm in Montreal!

Google
THE source for washi! A great resource for Japanese papers and related items… not to be missed! Washi — Japanese paper — isn't the only thing here: there are books on papermaking, book binding, even alternative photography processes. In short, if it relates to the use of paper, then it's here. There is also a room with Japanese ceramic tableware and even several pieces of Japanese clothing from which to choose. But especially washi...

Yelp
I beautiful paper store with great service and a nice selection of starter and expert project suggestions. The price was reasonable, especially given the high quality of paper stock. P.s., we were visiting form Chicago, IL USA and this was a specifically recommended visit from a fellow Art-School-Kid who lived in Montreal while attending college.

Yelp
After years of eyeing this intriguing shop from the outside, I finally stepped in on a whim and am so glad I did. The collection of paper is high quality and varied from gorgeous prints to single-toned sheets in a range of weights, plus they have a selection of journals, pottery, kimonos, pens, and many other temptations. I asked the staff about paper for a specific project and they were very helpful in talking me through options. I chose not to buy it that day but came back another day just at closing and they squeezed me in before locking up for the day -- a generous gesture. The paper worked beautifully for my project and I ended up buying a mixed bag of scrap paper cuttings, pens, and button pins for collage. I would definitely recommend this shop to other artists for the range of products and the friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Yelp
It's such a gorgeous boutique on Fairmount Street, one of the most artsy street of Mile End. It's very close to Fabergé, Kem Coba and Fairmount Bagel, so take some time to visit this lovely place after having your brunch/ ice cream/ bagel! The owner of the shop is really sweet and helpful. The boutique is so colourful and the paper products are really amazing! At the entrance, you would see a giant origami, which changes with time (once I saw a swan, now it's a penguin). I really love this little place that looks like fairytale coming true, and would definitely recommend it to you all!

Yelp
Have a folding project for which you need the most absolutely beautiful paper you can find? The paper is probably here. Aside from the amazing selection of papers, books on folding and knick knacks, I think one of the best parts of this store was the calm respectful distance of the shopkeeper. Absolutely essential when you're getting your art on in your mind. As someone who likes to envision the usage of materials in my projects nothing is more essential to me than not being hovered over in shops yet having help if I need/want to ask a question. Amazing materials in this store.

Yelp
Not only do they have more than 500 types of beautiful Japanese papers they have marvellous courses that you can take and bring out the artist in your soul. Take a tour around their web site or drop in to the store and be prepared to spend hours looking at their beautiful papers and items and talking about the art of paper and all things Japanese as well as book binding and a raft of other topics. This place is a gem.

Yelp
Location: In the Mile End. The closest subway would be Laurier (it's about 10-minutes away on foot from there) and street parking is available [metered]. The place/goods: This is a small shop but it's full of goodies. Beautiful Japanese paper, cards, books, sketching pens - you name it. Great place if you're an artist (or aspiring to be), if you like origami and/or just want to learn about folding. Service: The shopkeepers are friendly and knowledgeable, and they give you plenty of time and space to poke through their offerings undisturbed. Price point: This will depend on what you're buying - some items will be reasonable priced while others can run on the expensive side. But that paper - so goddamn gorgeous, you'll want to give them your pay check. Check it!

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful papers, cards, kimonos (could NEVER afford those) . Japanese paint brushes & paints, inks, lanterns. Wish I had LOTS & LOTS of money so that I could buy to my heart's content. A feast for the eyes and a treat for the artistically inclined.

Yelp
I learned how to make crane origamis here, which led to a memorable birthday gift of a thousand cranes. Their paper collection, rich knowledge of origamis, love of customer service, and warm hospitality makes this store a great find in Montreal. I learned so much from my few visits to the store; each and every time, I walked away with wonderful paper goodies and a smile on my face. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
I spent at least 45 minutes in the store choosing two books and various papers. Although there were employees in the store, I must have been invisible. Unable to get anyone's attention, I finally abandoned the items and left the store.

Yelp
Beautiful Japanese patterns and a wide selection of paper available. I loved all their greeting cards and ceramics especially. I could spend a long time in the store just looking at all the different designs. Definitely a bit of a splurge on stationary but for something extra special it may be worth it.
