Location is really amazing, lots of places to eat, shop and tourist spots nearby. Breakfast is included, a slice of bread with some spreads to choose from + tea and coffee. Staff is quite nice and helpful. Just not a big fan of the shower room, just one hook to pit your stuff, so shelf or something on the shower, so you have to put everything on the floor, there are some big gaps on the bottom and smaller on the sides of the door which I'm not crazy about in a co-ed shower room. Still, overall really good hostel, I would probably be back again.

Good price and good location. The social space was great. Phone chargers in each bunk. Charming old building. Not sure if this is typical for Hostels in Canada but there were mixed gender toilets and shower room which was slightly uncomfortable. Maybe if the doors for the toilets and showers weren't small with large gaps on the two lateral sides, it would've been more manageable. However with the volume of guests at my time of visit, it was rather unpleasant. Also there were toilets not confined to a room but rather cubicles just in the corridor. There was a lack of ventilation in our dorm, which affected other members of my party. Although the kitchen and dining area appeared clean, I believe the kitchen utensils weren't. A free breakfast was provided, which is good for people as long if you don't have any dietary requirements or ALLERGIES! I ate nothing at the hostel however I did have one cup of coffee which resulted in me having a reaction to gluten meaning I was in bed and unable to go out with the rest of my group. I can only put this down to the coffee dispenser or mugs not being properly cleaned because this has never occured for me before. I am extremely careful and have resided in numerous hostels without having been contaminated with gluten. Maybe having a dishwasher would help instead of letting people clean there own utensils? It could be very dangerous with people with more severe allergies or even transmitting of illnesses.

Pretty clean, showers could be cleaner and have more hooks or shelves. Lockers and breakfast provided. Luggage can be locked in a separate room. Free wifi. Very convenient for coming and going when exploring the city. People working there are nice.

Nice hostel near downtown. I stayed there one night. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was small. They served bread, american cheese, coffee and tea. Security lockers were small like school. So I can't put my backpack into it. Also shower need shelf to hold shampoo and soap. I had great deal there. I didn't complain about anything there. I would love to come back there again.

One of the best hostels I have stayed at, if not the best. Superb location, beautiful historic building, fully renovated, amazing kitchen and common room, super friendly staff, good dorms... I would say new mattresses could be an improvement but I had a great night's sleep anyway so that might just be nitpicking. 10/10 would stay again.

One of the best cheap hostels I ever have been in ! It is English friendly. Employees speak many languages and they're very kind. It's in a good localization and the decoration is beautiful, it's also very clean.

I stayed here both before and after the renovations. They've done an incredible job giving the place the facelift it needed, without loosing any of the character and charm it had before. But staying in a hostel with brand new showers?! Incredible. Perfect location, beautiful building, comfortable bed (each bunk has a plug and a light) lockers available in each room but bring your own lock, free towel, AMAZING staff. I don't think I could ask for much more from a hostel. Thanks guys, see you again.

Stayed just one night on my spontaneous trip to Montreal. A friend of mine recommended this place and I decided to book a spot on the day of. It turned out okay- clean, well organized with nice staff. The location is everything! Right in the middle of downtown so it's great to get around the city from this venue. One thing I noticed is that there's not enough soundproof so I could hear people walk around and shut/open their door. They provide breakfast which I didn't get to try since I went out for brunch myself but I think it's a nice feature. All of their rooms are shared so I believe it's a good place to meet up with other travelers.

As far hostels go I don't think you can go any better then this. The place if big, clean, well equipped. The place have the original woodwork and stained glass. The only con, no AC as far as I saw. If you have been 8 in a room, you know it can be a problem. The included breakfast is composed of toast, jelly, peanut butter and coffee. They give real butter, real butter, not margarine.

I would never book with them again. I booked a bunk room with them. There top bunks (three level bulk bed, bad design should not be made or purchased by anyone) are very high and unreasonable to get up to. I could not get up to the top bunk. The night i checked in but then found another place to stay. So I did not end up staying there. That night i was told i would have to come back in the morning to find out about a refund I wanted to get that night. I went back the next morning, the owner said no. So the owner took my money even thought i was not happy, found another place and never stayed there. That is horrible business practice and customer service. Lastly there is no parking any where around there, besides parking garages that they do not help pay for.

Great location, close to metro, and a good price. Everywhere in the hostel is clean and it is quite.

It's been two years since I was here last. I have fond memories of it... The location is perfect. It was run by a bunch of hippies like any other hostel I've ever been too. It was really good value for the money. I can't remember much else. I just remember I had a good time!

I stopped here for a night while driving back to my city. This place was really clean and the service was really good.price is very reasonable actual cheap. Met some great people during the few hours. Highly recommended .

In a freak incident I was locked out of the place I was staying and had to wait until morning to get back in.Of course my phone was low,however I did bring my wallet!I found this place and explained my situation.I was quoted a slightly higher price bit of course took it.Being new to the area I had to call a few times to find it even though it was close to the metro.The guy at the desk nicely told me a even cheaper bed opened up and he will hold it! So the funny part..The room was crazy dark but I managed to find a empty bed.The covers were a bit askew but I didn't care.Soooo in the middle of my sleep..Im thinking the girl whose bed it was originally came back to claim it but said fuck it and slept with her friend.She did sneak back for her pillow that I threw to the side.The covers were wrapped around me so it would have been hard to steal that!I will never know and don't care I slept well. I was truly happy they took me in so late at night,!
