Didn’t stay here, only came to the restaurant for dinner. However the other guests do have a point about this hotel being by the roadside, I can see the rooms from where I’m eating and I doubt the walls do much for the sound.
There’s limited parking across the road, same for down the road beside the mini market next door. Knowing the slow traffic here I’m sure it’s not hard to get a spot.
I came at night in late August, still low season for beachgoers. In fact I was the only diner there, had a chuckle thinking about my concierge making the effort to book a table lol
I was expecting to have spanner crabs for appetizers and mains, unfortunately both weren’t available. So it’s the shrimp and fish then. Yes they did have bat on the menu, not about to risk an upset stomach on my holiday though.
They give warm bread while I wait which is very welcome since the wait was quite long (remember I am the only diner and they don’t do app takeouts here).
The shrimps were underwhelming, six little pieces and they had a texture that hinted at the limits of shelf life, very limp and breakable. Taste was okay.
The fish main was better. Creole style. Personally, not for me, I’m not the biggest fan of sour dishes of which this is certainly one. The chutney globs pull the flavor profile in other directions, none of which are to my taste. Quality of fish was good though it had a lot of small bones, better eaten with the hands imo.
The killer here is the price: Both dishes and a water total up to 920 rupees. Nope. I certainly expected more for that kind of money. Not recommended.
