We spent four nights here and would have been happy to spend longer. A lovely traditional mountain inn, deep in the countryside. The rooms are full of character, simple but very comfortable. There is a blazing log fire in the dining room, and outdoor seating in the garden with panoramic views. Dinners were varied and delicious featuring regional specialities and produce. The location is superb, in the heart of the Cantal mountains, a paradise for walkers and cyclists.

Fantastic experience. Food was excellent, friendly helpful owners and mountain views to die for. Convenient location for exploring the wider Cantal region. We stayed 5 nights (in the adjacent studio apartment) and enjoyed every minute. We travelled with our 5 month old baby and the staff were very accommodating. The accommodation option we chose had a small private veranda which was an unexpected bonus! Planning to return in a few years time hopefully.

Cute B&B next to Salers medieval village and Puy Mary mountain. Fresh food menu and local food. Highly recommended

We had an excellent honeymoon spent in this lovely Auberge. The location is stunning with incredible views of the Cantal mountains. The host Valerie was very welcoming and could not do enough for us. The food cooked by her husband Bruno was of gourmet standard. We would heartily recommend this one lace for those looking for a base in this beautiful part of France.

The two best things about this place is the views and the food! ||Friendly enough staff, the room was very rustic and has exposed wood beams and stone walls. The view from the room we had The Shagya room must be one of the best views from a bedroom window in the world!!! You can see Puy Mary and all the gorgeous green hills surrounding the B&B. ||The dinner was absolutely delicious. Some of the best food we had in France and a very good selection of wines. ||The wifi only seemed to work downstairs in the restaurant/ bar area. Not in our room. ||The hike up Puy Mary and a walk around Murat was fun too. There is an amazing goats cheese place just down the road from here where you can buy the most delicious fresh cheese. There are signs down the road from the B&B. ||There isn't much else to do here so I would say 2 days is enough. ||

There is a reason that the majority of earlier TA reviews are not in English: the auberge is really rural and in a part of France that English speakers rarely go. This, of course, is part of its charm and one of the reasons we chose it for part of our 3-week trip. We were glad we did.||||Our room was very comfortable, and we had plenty of blankets to keep us warm at night. The simple dinner--served in the rustic dining room with a fire in the fireplace--couldn't be beat. This is what foreign travel is all about!||||We, and other guests, took advantage of the sunny afternoon by sitting on the large grassey terrace having wine or beer while reading or studying maps for the next day's travel. Just delightful.

Review for stay june 2017||We stayed for two nights and wish it could have been longer . It is in a great location for walking in the Cantal ,very close to Puy Mary. In late afternoon it was great to sit out on the lawn for a drink and take in the scenic views.||The food on offer was very good with a wide choice including many local cheeses and wine.||The hostess was very friendly and spoke good English The booking was made by email

If you stay here be aware this is an Auberge - not a b&b.. it is a restaurant first and foremost, with wonderful food and very romantic atmosphere, with some very clean but very basic rooms upstairs. ||||Oh and be sure to try the Blue Cantal Cheese while you are here! The meal was one of the best we've had in France.||||Great value too for both the rooms and dinners.||||Lovely part of France too.
