Auberge de Jeunesse BVJ PARIS / OPÉRA-MONTMARTRE

I had a pleasant stay at this hostel in Paris. The place was clean, well-maintained, and had a really nice ambience. The location was excellent — close to public transport and major attractions, which made getting around very convenient. The included breakfast was amazing, definitely one of the highlights of my stay. They also provided a paid general locker service which was quite handy. However, one drawback was that there were no personal lockers inside the rooms. It made me feel a bit insecure about keeping my important belongings safe, especially since I was carrying some tech devices. Also, make sure to carry cash, as they don’t accept card payments. Overall, it’s a great hostel with friendly vibes — and definitely worth it for the price.

I had an amazing stay at this hostel! The rooms were clean, quiet, and very comfortable, and everything was well-organized and perfectly managed. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and professional — they assisted me with anything I needed. The location is great and very convenient for transportation and nearby attractions. I truly felt at home during my stay. I highly recommend this place and would definitely come back.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This was by far the WORST hostel experience I’ve ever had. First off, the check-in process took forever and was very inconvenient since they only accept cash. We found out later that this is for a reason, as they will not give you a refund regardless of the situation. The rooms have nowhere to safely store your luggage, they’re cramped, they have limited outlets, and the WiFi is terrible. We also found multiple bugs on our beds and ceiling. The bathroom situation is a different story. It’s shared by EVERYONE in the hostel and there is barely any room. The showers were filthy and had nowhere to put toiletries and the toilets has traces of feces and no seat. To close the bathroom door you have to literally climb over the toilet because it’s so small. Any sort of privacy in this hostel is rare. I strongly advise that you don’t book BVJ Paris, and I wish everyone that braves a night there good luck.

If I could give this place a 0 I would. DO NOT STAY HERE. The rooms are just plain bunk beds with no curtain and they’re not very sturdy. There is nowhere to put your luggage in the room, my friend and I had to pile it in the corner. There were two outlets total for the whole 9 person room to share. There were bugs in the room and the bathroom was in unacceptable condition. There was no toilet paper, feces on the toilet, and only one sink and 4 stalls for a communal, both gender bathroom. The showers have no storage, and are very messy. When we explained the situation, the staff was rude and dismissive of our concerns. For the price point of this hostel, I was very underwhelmed. It is not worth the cost or the trouble.

Very nice hostel and friendly staff. Amazing location. Free breakfast and it’s very good- a lot of food with a whole cafe area. Also, there’s free luggage space and if you pay 2 euros you can lock it. The whole place is very secure and safe. Note they only take cash. My only complaints: the bathroom/showers are not good quality and you’re not provided a towel; in the 6 person room, there’s a 3 stack bunk bed and if you’re on the top, it’s extremely inconvenient to get up/down; there are no outlets next to the beds which makes it really annoying in general, but especially for the people on the high bunks. Finally, it’s pretty pricey for a hostel, but the price was very fair considering the location.

Perfect hostel. The staff were incredibly helpful throughout my stay in Paris. I arrived much earlier than expected, and they kindly managed to get me a room before the official check-in time.

A very good hostel. I highly recommend. The attention at reception was very good, also the cleanliness, and the location just a couple of blocks from the Moulin Rouge. The room was spacious, but I suggest installing lockers because luggage has to be left on the floor and it is not safe, and it makes it difficult to get around. I would definitely choose it again.

This is the second time I've stayed at this hostel, and I love it! The location is great! The room was clean! We had no problems at all! The bathrooms and common areas were very clean! I travelled with my mother, who is an elderly person, and they offered us a room more comfortable for her, which I appreciated very much! The attention was amazing and the breakfast is free, with a beautiful terrace. I will definitely come back!
