BVJ offers a unique accommodation experience that combines comfort and authenticity. The hotel is characterized by a high level of cleanliness and attention to detail, which makes the stay very comfortable. The general atmosphere is calm and ideal for relaxation, with soft music that adds a touch of comfort to the place. The receptionist is very friendly and cheerful, and speaks more than one language, which makes it easy to communicate with guests of different nationalities. The historic building of the hotel has a unique character that is worth exploring, and gives the stay a special character. The hotel's strategic location also makes it close to all means of transportation, including bus and metro stations, which makes it easy to move around and explore the city. A wonderful experience by all standards! And If I could give more than five stars, I would give double. It's a worthy experience.

If you are looking for a taste of prison, this hostel is for you. If you want to press a button every two seconds to get the shower to work, then you should stay at bvj opera. Not only was the shower head moldy, but the water was ice cold. There was zero heating in the rooms, and now I am sick. If you would like to pay $7 for a towel, this is for you. All payments are in cash, which sucks. There were no lockers, so if you are okay with your things being stolen, then this will work for you. There are 4 outlets total, for a room of 18 people. The breakfast was underwhelming, so, if you are excited about the free breakfast, lower your expectations. All 18 of us shared one key for the room. So if you get locked out, then too bad. On a positive note, the staff were all very nice and helpful. Overall, I would not recommend unless you are cool with all of that.

Overall very nice hostel but just a few things that need to be improved to make it excellent. The location is excellent and the hostel is overall clean. However I felt a bit misled and cheated as I booked a room in a 10 bedroom male only hostel and the room ended up having 13 beds (which means you have less space to even lift up your head when you are in bed because they are sets of triple bunk beds instead of 2 as per normal). Also I was a bit annoyed as I was changing clothes in the morning only to realise there was a girl sleeping right where I was changing and hadn't realised. I had specifically booked a male-only dorm and if I had known they would change it into mixed without telling me I would have picked another option. Aside from that the building is beautiful, staff is amazing and extremely friendly. Special thanks to the guy at reception (I think he was of Arab or Latin origin, apologies for the guess but I want to identify him visually as he was really warm, welcoming and helpful) who was super friendly as well as the night receptionist with the super deep voice. Both are excellent at their jobs. Breakfast is cute and charming and aside from the booking issue the hostel is really lovely. Also one more thing, you should add hooks on the walls of the rooms, showers and bathrooms. It would help people hang towels, toiletries etc when using as instead everyone's belongings end up on the floor as that is the only surface. Thanks

The staff are very friendly and for the most part the rooms and bathroom are clean. However, the showers only running for 30 seconds, the hostel only accepting cash payments, and charging 7€ for towels was not our favorite. No individual lights or outlets was also inconvenient. Overall, this hostel is average. If you want something simple this can work for you!

Reception and everyone we met here were so nice! They were kind enough to upgrade our room without being asked and allowed us early check-in. Facilities are beautiful and clean. I've stayed at plenty of hostels the last couple weeks but this one was by far one of the best for cleanliness and service. Area was very convenient to lots of shops and restaurants and felt very safe. The daily breakfast was delicious. Would easily recommend to budget travelers of the area.

Awesome hostel! Travelled from the US with my girlfriend, was nicely welcomed and had a lovely conversation with the man at the front desk! Room is great and the location of the hostel is very easy to locate and is surrounded by nice attractions. Would highly recommend!

This is very first time of me writing a negative comment. Not recommended, I was locked up inside for 18 minutes without any information. I came for check in There were no one at the hall. I had no internet. It was super empty and people who have already checked in also can’t enter as well. The guy who locked the door did not even looked at my face, I thought he were just a friend but he’s been helping everyone out with their keys but me. (Specially helping people that speaks French and super nice to them:)) There were no one for me to complete check-in. The price were doubled due to Saturday, I only booked because I had an important event at night time and this place was the closest. I even emailed about it but I don’t think they care. Also second time thankfully the guy had urge to talk to me… and gave me the internet password. And it doesn’t even work so don’t worth it. These all against safety. Turns out that guy didn’t even bother to process my check in a minute or tell me a proper time to wait. I also missed my event unfortunately.

One of THE worst experiences in a hostel. The room was tiny and crammed in there were 12 beds. Even though they advertise it as a ten people room! There is no space to put your lugagge and no lockers, so everything was lying around on the floor. The showers only have boiling water, and the whole floor gets wet when you use it. The toilets have no toilet seats. YOU CAN NOT PAY BY CARD! This was the biggest issue, as it doesn’t say anywhere on their booking platform. The WIFI is terrible. It is very difficult to do anything. The best (but by no means good) thing was the breakfast. I would not advise anyone to stay at this hostel.
