Auberge de Jeunesse de Lausanne

I'd opted for a private room and was quite happy with what I got (see video). I had a decent nights sleep, followed by a simple breakfast in the morning. The hostel was some way out of the centre (I took a tram to get there) and there didn't seem much around the locality, so for something to eat in the evening I headed back on the tram to the city centre. You get free travel on public transport whilst staying here.

Stayed in a room on the top floor which had virtually no openable windows and thus no ventilation. The room is fried during the day time and the heat is confined forever so when you are back from a tired day at 11 o'clock what waits you is a ruthless 31℃ with no other choice than leaving the door opened for the entire night while sleeping. I should not probably complain much given the price range, but just that it was frankly unstayable. The free transport ticket was great.

Shared bedroom (two bunk beds). One of them should be replaced (super noisy). The bathroom for this shared bedroom was filthy (see pictures attached). Staff is quite helpful but snitchy behind backs (quite a few disrespectful comments were heard in the common reception area). No lockers or acess to wifi inside the bedroom. I do NOT recommend booking a shared bedroom (unless they fix at least the bathroom).

the rooms could do with a few more charger power points. otherwise great. There is only an expensive shop in the camping site nearby and no restaurants in a reasonable distance. The Youth Hostel itself is fantastic and breakfast was excellent and overall very good value for Lausanne.

Verry beautifull hostel! With a very good kitchen! But matrassen are a bit thin ( I am just 64 kg) But they are verry friendly, there is luggage room, Nice looking place (also outside) But it's a little bit far outside the center, but the free transport card compensate a lot:) Beach is close 😘

Excellent Facilities like 2 days travel ticket in entire city which covers tram bus metro. Breakfast was also included. Room was big with a lot of storage. There should be a small kitchen for using the sink or make coffee. There was a bar and restaurant but that is not ideal.

Great location, friendly staff and good breakfast!No warm/cook options available for breakfast at all tho. Just fruit, cold cuts, yogurt, muesli and drinks.We received a free pass for public transportation too.No AC available tho.

The staff were so friendly! I like when people smile It was great and fully booked for the days! I got to stay one night and am satisfied! Thank you!

Since there is not much reviews on this hostel! So I will give a very thorough review and hope that will cover just about everything! The service itself was pretty good, I talked to one of the managers, and it was a bit difficult at first because of our different accents, but once we got past that he was very helpful and definitely was very accommodating! The hostel itself is pretty nice! There's a complementary breakfast: fresh bread, slices of meats and cheese, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, juice, milk and even coffee! Most hostels I know don't even serve any sort of breakfast, so this was pleasant. The rooms are neat and clean. Linen, pillow and duvet is provided. Towels can be put down for 10 francs and returned to you once you've returned the towel. The shower facilities were also pretty good and clean! It's a locked door, has hooks, a small shelf, and then a shower curtain for the shower section, with also a ledge to place toiletries on. It's literally less than a 5 minute walk from the lake and next to the Olympic headquarters. The bus is just not too far outside from the hostel so makes it not too difficult to get into the town centre.
