You only have a shower in the rooms, no toilet. I had to go down two halls for a toilet and the toilets don’t have sinks to wash your hands. The staff was ok. However, there was a male at reception on my first day that didn’t speak a single word of English, i mean not one. I had a few questions and he couldn’t answer them. The breakfast is good, simple but more than enough. There is no wifi at all in the rooms, only in the common area on the ground floor and it was bad wifi, super slow.

Not luxury but a five star hostel. Went once here in 2017 and again this year. Doesn’t disappoint- clean hostel. No frills but the energy is good here. Great location and very kind staff. Will always choose MIJE when I need a cheap night in Paris

Central location. The house is very run down. There is a shower in the room, but toilet is in the hallway, it would be much more sensible the other way around. Toilets are not equipped with sinks, and you have to touch several door handles before washing your hands in the room, which is not hygienic. No soap available. Some of the toilet doors are so warped that they don't even close. The bathroom is only covered from the room by a curtain, which was very dirty in our room. The light switch in the bathroom was already hanging halfway out of the wall. From 10 p.m. onwards, a night watchman monitors the quiet in the house. However, due to the old building structure, even going to the toilet is "too loud". The breakfast and common room is far too small for all residents. The breakfast is very meager, there is no cheese or cold cuts. One positive point is that the rooms and hallways are cleaned daily.

Such an impractical hostel, truly the worst Ive stayed in. I initially booked at a different Mije. I confirmed the address at the time of booking AND when I showed up. The address they give you at confirmation MAY NOT BE WHERE YOU STAY. When I show up to that location THAT I BOOKED, they instead sent me here with worse reviews. Be prepared, because this was without doubt, one of the worst hostels I have ever stayed in. There is no storage, locker, box, closet, whatever to store your items during your stay. So the room is cluttered constantly. The beds are small for bunk standards. There is ONE OUTLER PER ROOM of 7 people. And ours was located in the shower (no toilet) so you have to intrude on someone's shower to plug in or grab your device. There is no door for the shower room, just a curtain. No soap. The only soap is located in the toilet which is down the hall and the TOILET HAS NO SINK. so you have to get the soap next to the toilet and run to your room touching multiple door handles to get to the sink in your room. All just to wash your hands after using the toilet. So gross. NO WIFI IN THE ROOMS. NO KITCHEN TO USE. I understand this is an old historic building but for the price it is to stay here and how uncomfortable and inconvenient it is and how deceiving the booking experience is, the price should be MUCH LOWER. I cannot get over how ridiculous this place is. Seriously. Also, I'm noticing they keep mentioning a renovation to address these issues but I saw no renovation happening during my stay so be warned this place will continue to suck for quite awhile.

One of the worst hostels I’ve ever been to. Was told on the day of arrival that the elevator was not working and that my room was on the 4th floor. Next the WiFi only works on the ground floor, and is extremely spotty. There is very little privacy in the rooms themselves (even for a hostel) and no locks or reliable outlets. No air conditioning whatsoever. Staff was unhelpful. The location is great and the building is rustic, but I would not recommend staying here.

Great hostel! Rooms are cozy and simple. Facilities were clean. Building is old but in a cute way, not a gross way. Was a chill and quiet vibe I definitely reccomend this place for introverts who want a relaxing place to decompress after a day about the city. Is tucked along a private side street in one of the most amazing parts or Paris!! Transit is super acessible, so many options for food within a short distance, and staff here were very nice!

I enjoyed a very nice cozy little room for 80€. Exactly what I needed for a night in Paris. Clean and quiet.

I slept two nights at this hostel and I enjoyed the stay. The bed might be too short for very tall people but the mattress was fine. The rooms are all cleaned in the afternoon which means one cannot stay in the rooms during that time. Would recommend this hostel! The street is very old and everything is close by.

Yelp
Bring Your Own Towel because they frequently run out of rented towels. The Hema store nearby sells towels if you are without one. Membership is $3 euro and must be joined on first stay. The MIJE hostels are the best places to stay in Paris. I have been to Paris many times and yuh just can't beat the price and location. Private rooms are available if you don't want to stay in a dorm setting. People of all ages and income stay here because it is so nice. Three locations are part of the MIJE system. You will be assigned a room the day before or close to check in if yuh make a late reservation. Preferences are not considered. All three are close to metro and bus stops. All three have bistros and convenience stores near. WiFi is available in the common areas and works well. Luggage storage is available all day even before you check in. It is camera monitored and I never had a problem. Showers and sinks are within your room. Toilets are in the hall but they are private rooms. Hair dryers are available with a $20 euro deposit and were nice (in fact I bought one just like it bc was so nice!!) Breakfast is always friendly and fun. Baguette, pain de chocolate, yogurt, cereal, tea, coffee, juice, milk by cafeteria style is served. Buildings are old, restored mansions. Worn marble floors, quaint courtyards and lots of French style make these places so perfect. Views from many of the windows is spectacular. One of my favorite things was to lay in bed early on Sunday mornings and listen to all the different church bells... including Norte Dame. Typical price for a dorm room was $22-33 euros. Dinners are served in weeknights for a modest price. All hotel staff speak English and were very helpful with suggestions and directions. Also inquire about your membership discounts. I used mine to get half price admission to a hot photography exhibit across the street and to go on a boat excursion. Both were less than $7 euros a piece. Many times large tour groups use these hostels. On those days it may be a little louder but embrace the experience. There is too much to do in Paris to sit in the hostel and complain about the groups.
