Stayed here for 2 nights. I must say location is simply Fantastic!! Hotel is at top of this hilly village and everything is close by. Rooms are small in size but has a comfortable bed, basic toiletries and an electric kettle. Also were cleaned during the stay. Parking needs to be reserved if needed. It is almost 200 meters from the hotel and costs 25€ per day. But Finding it is a nightmare with a paper map and address doesn’t take you to a correct place on google maps. Thanks to a local lady who helped us, else it was impossible. Service was decent but it would have been really appreciated if I could have gotten the help to locate the parking on google maps. When I entered given address on google maps and showed it, I was simply told it doesn’t look correct but no effort to point it to the correct location.

We stayed one night at Auberge de la Commanderie, and while the location is excellent—right in the heart of Saint-Émilion and close to everything—we found the overall experience to be underwhelming.||The breakfast was a highlight: fresh, varied, and served in a clean, welcoming downstairs area. Staff were polite and responsive when approached.||Unfortunately, the room itself was disappointing. It was very basic, with noticeable stains on the floors and walls, and the bed was quite uncomfortable. Each guest was provided with a single, flat pillow, which didn’t help with getting a good night's sleep.||The biggest issue, however, was the smell in the room—it was quite unpleasant. When we mentioned it to staff, we were told that others had raised the same concern, and were advised to run the air conditioning to help with it. While we appreciated the honesty, it didn’t really solve the problem.||Overall, the stay was just okay. Given the condition of the room, I’d rate it closer to 2 stars than the 3 it’s advertised as. With some updates and better maintenance, this could be a much better place to stay—especially given the prime location.

The hotel was recommended for us (2 couples) as a base for a 5 night visit to St Emilion. We are pleased to have followed their recommendation. The service is simple but effective and the breakfast fare is tasty and copious. Useful to have a lift to the 2nd floor.

Booked this as something of a last minute adventure while in Bordeaux ... couldn't resist staying in a former Templar commanderie. Nothing fancy, but a clean and comfortble room in a neat building right in the center of St. Emilion. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although short, we had a fun visit. Breakfast was very nice. Would stay there again, especially if on a budget.

The hôtel is very well located but what matters the most to me is the bed. 140 cm and too soft. Strong point lovely view of the medieval city directly from your bedroom window. The staff is courteous. Some people say the parking is expensive, yes it is but it allows you to park your car and not worry about it for the rest of your stay. Parking is limited in St Emilion and not free unless you park in some back alley.

Surprisingly delicious !|Air-conditioning in all rooms|Quirky rooms in the annexe building. Ours had a beautiful full height stained glass window. |Excellent value for the price

The place is in town, close to the cloister, getting high marks for location. It is a 2* property so charm is not a word that comes to mind. It had no bottled water nor coffee making facilities. Staff was helpful. The rooms are on the first and second floor [2d and 3d for North Americans] but there is an elevator. Thee was a companion wing across the road. It was in a quiet area. The room size was fine. There was individual soap and a squeeze bottle in the shower for hair/body wash. My sleep was not good but I do not heavy duvets. The brekkie was on the main floor, costing c 10 euros. It was good The wifi was not password protected. It was annoying it had to be reset every time the computer was shut off. If you need more from a hotel there are other options in town. If you just need a room to tour some of the wineries, it is okay to fine.

A comfortable hotel at the top of the hill in St. Emilion. The room was small, but certainly on par with what we found throughout our France vacation. The breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast we got while on vacation – the pastries were wonderful. The hotel has a lift, which is helpful for old knees and luggage. The location is great for in-town sightseeing as well. They also offer a small parking lot, however it is not adjacent to the hotel. If you’re using the parking lot, drop your luggage off at the door before you go to park. While the lot isn’t too far away, the cobbled streets make dragging luggage a bit awkward. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. Definitely recommend this stop in St. Emilion.
