The hotel is a bit more pricey than what we usually seek, but we did not regret the expense. Our room was spacious, modern, and clean. I requested a top floor room for the view of the St. Lawrence and it was spectacular. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever had in a hotel. We purchased a meal package that included dinner and a breakfast buffet; both were excellent. Loved the many viewpoints, the night-time fire tables, and overall vibe of the outdoor areas. We made good use of the pool, hot tub, and sauna, which says something since my wife is very picky about hotel pools. The staff were friendly, professional, and welcoming. In short, and excellent stay and we hope to return.

We enjoyed our double queen room with a good river and hotel view. The balcony is large and has chairs and a table and a plexiglass barrier. Good desk space and a coffee maker were provided as were adequate outlets. The room had pleasant earth tone décor. Lighting included reading lights over the beds. As to the beds, they were super comfortable. The bathroom had good lighting and a pull-out make-up mirror. We liked that the sink was outside the toilet/shower area. The main issue that we had was there was only enough shelf space by sink for a toothbrush. Towel racks were also needed. ||The dining room seemed quite expensive, but the bar had reasonably priced good food and we were able to sit and look at the river and what could have been a sunset. Service in the bar both for food and drinks was good. Indeed the hotel staff was quite helpful. Be aware that many non-hotel guests dine there and guest parking is not assured. We were fortunate to get one of the last parking spaces across the street and had to move our car in the evening. I rarely give a 5 and would take off 1/2 circle for the lack of sink space and parking issues, but we enjoyed our 3 nights there so they get the max.

We had an absolutely brilliant stay at Auberge de la Pointe. The room we were initially given didn’t suit our needs, but the front desk were great at switching this for us. We were able to see whales in the river from our room balcony- which was amazing! The room itself was large and comfortable, the pool and facilities were manned and clean. The outdoor areas for sitting and relaxing were excellent. We ate dinner at the restaurant on our second night and wished we had eaten there both nights. The food was incredible. The pork belly was a real stand out and the halibut was also delicious and the servers were lovely. We had a brilliant stay and wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

This is a large hotel that is very spread out. It’s more of a collection of motels on the same property. Our room was simple and clean. The bed was comfortable. The views over the St. Lawrence are amazing. The coffee and food are expensive. The pool and spa are very nice. The grounds are well kept and there is plenty of parking.

I was recommended this hotel by my boss, then she surprised me with a gift certificate for a 1 night stay and breakfast, and let me tell you I did not regret it. Its an amazing place, staff is super nice! The room was very clean, very small bathroom though. The balcony view was awesome! We had dinner at Le Mirador and from the service to the food it was exquisite. Breakfast buffet had everything you wanted and more. I would definitely stop there again. Thank you to everyone that made our overnight stay a perfect stay. I also met one of the owners, he was very nice and opened the door for me. I highly recommend this auberge.

We booked this hotel just to sleep overnight as a final stop on our road trip from Toronto to Halifax. Positives: The hotel paid good attention to the special requests we made during booking, Room164 cleanliness was very good and the air conditioning was excellent and efficient. However, there were several issues: Upon arrival, we got a bit lost as there were no clear signs for the reception. The place looked more like a motel than a hotel, and I felt slightly unsafe. We requested to change our room to an interior one, and although we were willing to pay the difference, the front desk told us that since we booked through Expedia, we would have to cancel and rebook, which would “mess up the system.” The noise insulation from the street was extremely poor—you can hear and feel everything passing by outside. I had noted in advance that I’m highly sensitive to cleanliness and asked for all decorative and non-washable items to be removed. They did that, but unfortunately provided as the check in lady said “washed” blanket that was smelly and had clumps of visible hair on it. I called reception in the middle of the night asking for a clean blanket, and they told me I had to come down in another building to the front desk to get it! Honestly, it didn’t feel safe or reasonable to have to go out at night in a new city just to get a blanket that should have been clean in the first place. The drawers were full of pillows and no blanket avilable There was a strange smell coming from the bed, matress and also pillows, even though it was covered with what was supposed to be a clean sheet. It didn’t feel fresh or hygienic at all. I ended up placing my t-shirt above the pillow just to tolerate the smell and get some sleep Unfortunately, despite a few positives, the overall experience was disappointing as we don't have a rest well which was the goal.

Fantastic view and nice property. Walking distance to park and beach shore Clean rooms. Very tiny bathrooms. Would definitely stay again if we are ever down this way.

Yelp
Arrived here late afternoon on a gloomy day. It's a pretty large resort with several buildings located close to or on the hill overlooking the mighty St Lawrence River. We were quickly checked in and went to our room, which in this case was directly on the hill with a full and uninterrupted view. Even in the grey weather we could see across the huge breadth of the river, 1.5 miles wide here!!! Magnifique! We had brought some cheese, bread and pate with us, and some wine, so we did not feel like eating in the restaurant. We had food, wine and a room with a view. Romantique! The beds were incredibly comfortable and after reading and browsing online, we soon fell asleep, with the window open to the cool river air. The next morning, eager to get going, we decided to skip the hotel buffet, reasonably priced. In retrospect, we should have tried it, as it looked quite good and was in a nice room. But we had breakfast down the road instead. News item: Apparently they have whale watching tours from here, as these creatures swim in the 170 miles upstream from the ocean. All kinds, from blue whales too a herd of belugas. Who knew? https://www.quebecmaritime.ca/en/blog/riviere-du-loup-a-little-known-whale-watching-area

Yelp
This was a great find -- a spectacular spot with lots of options for accommodation and dining. We ate in the dining room, and all were happy with the meals. There is also a very appealing more adult bar/resto on the river side of the hotel. The patio and extensive boardwalk with outdoor fires is lovely at night, and the pool was much enjoyed by a range of ages. We were only there one night and only in one type of room (the less expensive motel-style ones away from the river -- super comfortable, clean and newly renovated); this could well be five stars but I don't know if we experienced enough of it to be sure. We'd definitely stay there again. We'd also and spend more time enjoying all the foodie destinations between here and Quebec City.
