Loved this hotel. Maybe the best place we stayed in Switzerland. Such a nice feel to the place. Quiet, comfortable, clean. And charming. Breakfast was included (unlike the other hotels we stayed in) and delicious. We ate at the restaurant several times for dinner. Staff was helpful and friendly. I would recommend it readily. One of the benefits for us was we were traveling by train. It is a short walk from the train station, but be aware the trains down to Aigle are once an hour so you need to plan your trips. One day we took a bus to Col du Pillon and hiked back down to the hotel via Lac Retaud.

The restaurant is nice. It had big portions of food. The service is also nice, they offer free (tap) water without us asking. Water is life! Thank you!

What made our stay was the Portuguese lady serving us breakfast. She made excellent coffees, was all smiles and great with the children. All smiles in the morning, a great start of the day. The buffet is not super well stocked, but the bread and croissants are fresh, the coffee is good. What more do you really need :) The rooms are as described. Cozy, all wood, not too modern, but perfect for Diablerets. We had the 200chf family room above the dinner room (so a little noisy if you go to bed before 11pm). It has a little seating area in the room and it is spacious enough for a family. It lacked some storage and hooks to dry our stuff, but there isn`t a hotel in the world that has solved that. Parking across the road and walking distance to the train, easy access to the race I participated in, or the ski lift. Plus the excellent restaurant. Great stay!

We ordered the fondue, not the best one ever but nice, a generous charcuterie plate was served also. Wine can be ordered in the pichet 500ml which was very drinkable. This place gets busy so might be best to book if more than two people. Children's meals need improvement - the days of nuggets and sausages with chips are long gone. Quite a nice ambience and good helpful service.|

We came for a weekend in Diablerets and had a wonderful stay. The rooms are very cosy and old chalet Swiss style decorated. The people managing the chalet are charming and we had a great stay. The chalet is perfectly situated near the railstation, a few minutes away from the ski slopes (you can go by car if you want to also).||The view from our room on the mountains was great.||Very good food at the restaurant and for breakfast.

We have stayed in most of the rooms at the auberge. Rooms in the auberge: all wood, classic swiss chalet. Very authentic. Appart: It is located beside the hotel, very cosy. Chambre mouget: in front of the auberge, in another chalet where locals live. Room is fully independent, It is like a little appart with balcony. All rooms are clean, nice and comfortable.||Restaurant: food is fresh, tasty and home made. Atmosphere is lively and warm. There is always a good mix of locals, hikers and skiers. Service is excellent and very professionnal.we will definitely come back next year!

Lately, we have been there twice sleeping over. The staff was very gentle and helpful, breakfast was very good and the location is in the village center, i.e. you can come up by train from Aigle (what a wonderful scenery) and walk five minutes to the hotel. The chalet is beautiful inside and outside, its rooms are nice and have low ceilings. The rooms in the new building to the chalet's right are modern and pretty small if it is more than three people.

We went to have a nice family dinner and we had a horrible night... There was a group of 20 guys drunk making a lot of noise, yelling and hitting the table with a provoquing attitude... The owner was well aware of the situation and he ignore it and did nothing to stop it. It was truly a pitty...

Yelp
It was the big dinner post curling for our annual lab retreat. The resto was completely empty this Thursday night at 1830. We could sit anywhere and prepared to order our drinks. Dealing with 22 people is hard for one waitress but she could at least give us water. The non-pure aqueous drinks came very promptly however and bottles containing fermented grape juice were never empty. Of course being in a ski resort we ordered fondue. It took a while as they probably had to make several litres of it. Two others ordered a salad and soup and those came promptly. Salad was essentially bag migros salad nicely presented on a plate. The soup looked and smelled delicious; smothered with cheese. The fondue was really good. This being the 8th this winter season, I really liked the blend offered at this establishment. There was also a subtle hint of garlic that I usually do not taste anywhere else. Bread was always refilled promptly as well. The desserts were pretty standard ice cream cake and double creme. I ordered the double creme, but the portion size is ridiculous! I want a decent sized portion of 52% fat please. It's decent... For a Swiss restaurant if you're only coming for fondue. Decent fondue, decent (Swiss) prices. There are probably far pricier and rather worst restaurants in town.
