Auberge de la Source (Barneville-la-Bertran, Normandy) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"At the entrance to the picturesque Norman village of Barneville-la-Bertran stand a red brick house and a half-timbered longhouse, which collectively comprise the Auberge de la Source. The accommodations are divided between these two structures as well as a third cottage in the garden; all are rustic in their inspiration but thoroughly luxurious in their execution, and more than a little bit contemporary in their carefully curated design. Massages are available for a bit of relaxation, and the gardens and the forested countryside invite exploration; the restaurant feels warm and cozy even as it serves artful modern cooking." - Tablet Hotels

Google
A very good restaurant and experience. In our opinion The food lacks a bit to be a michelin starred (or acknowledged in the report). The service and atmo are totally there.

Visited the restaurant on our holiday in northern France and had a fantastic meal, the flavours were superb and very fresh. What made the experience even better was the attentive and professional service from the team, Mylène and Alan were such lovely hosts, very friendly and helpful with any questions we asked. We most certainly will be back next time we are in Normandy.

A very good dinner with friends ! We were very well received by Alain who was able to advise us and also make us laugh. The dishes were all very good as well as the judiciously proposed wines. Small downside for the quality of the coffee at the end of the dinner.

We had lunch at the restaurant, it was wonderful to have a table in the garden. Portions were quite small but tasteful, and made with fresh and quality products. Service was on point. I was a bit annoyed but the credit card « deposit » and confirmations of reservation I had to make but I can understand the restaurant’s policy.

We had a very nice evening at this restaurant (we do not stay in the hotel but just went for dinner). It has a beautiful garden and the personel (we were served by Alain) was very friendly and helpfull. The food was delicious, all the courses were very tasty.

We usually go there every year for our anniversary with my husband, it's quite expensive, but usually worth it. This time we were quite disappointed, the heater didn't work in our room, the TV didn't work properly, for me you can't send guests who pay this kind of price in a room that isn't fully functioning. We just got back from a more modest experience and we were more pleased. Yes the food is very good, bur for people who don't drink much there wasn't many options of wine by the glass, and all half bottle was quite pricey. Unfortunately we're going to take a little break.

Yelp
Stayed here a few weeks ago on a trip through the area. Very cute, very comfortable hotel and restaurant tucked away just outside of Honfleur. Service was very pleasant and very helpful, both with information and also with physically accompanying you to your room. Each room is a separate room in one of the buildings, of which there are many. The rooms are very comfortable, with modern air conditioning, espresso, and both large bedrooms and bathrooms. The only knock i would have, at least for our particular room, was how tiny the water closet was. The toilet was tucked away in its own room, which is great, but this particular room's toilet was basically crammed in there, to the point where there was literally no extra room between the toilet and the door. Very uncomfortable. But, that's only one of the rooms, and i assume they're not all like that. Our room was the common two-twins-pushed-together, which is common in Europe, but you wouldn't have known it by how comfortable the bed was. Didn't notice at all it was two beds. Very happy with the room. Dinner that night was at the hotel's restaurant, which was another fabulous meal. Lots of fantastic dishes, including a perfectly cooked steak. And, because our walk back to the room was so short, we decided to go for it with the alcohol, which was very good as well. Opted for the additional course of a poached egg, which was a common treat in France, having an egg course. Dinner also consisted of fish and beef, a cheese course, and a dessert course featuring a very unique layered dessert with ice cream. Everything was great! They do offer breakfast, though it's certainly not the cheapest, but it's a very good spread, with lots of fresh everything. But, we wanted to get an early start, so we decided to just pay and head out. Even though we didn't stay for breakfast, they let me pull a fresh espresso, which was very nice of them. Overall, this was a very comfortable hotel, just outside the very cute town of Honfleur. The food was good, as was the location. If you find yourself looking for a hotel in this part of France, give this place a look.

Yelp
I stayed here as a bouncing pad to go to Omaha beach and Giverny in the same visit (with my children.) My 2 children and I shared a queen size bed and I would not recommend this but the hotel itself was beautiful and picturesque. I would have loved being here with my husband for a long weekend. Its absolutely charming and the staff is very friendly. Not many people in this region speak a lick of English or at least they didn't let on that they do:) We tried our best to speak a very little French and were able to get by. The restaurant is small and lovely with some tables sprinkled outside. There is a pond with a lovely waterfall. The room that we had was small for us but completely fine for a couple. There was no safe, pool or air conditioning but no need for them as well. It's located 15 minutes to Deauville and Treauville centers and beaches. 1.5 hours to Omaha beach and 1.25 hours to Giverny (Monet's house and gardens.) Its about 5 minutes to Hornfleur which is an absolutely charming town center with many restaurants to choose from--but skip the Hornfleur beach that looks at a massive power plant--the antithesis of charming.
