Cozy and comfortable in front of the fire the female manager tended, we greatly enjoyed the service from highly professional and conscientious junior waiter. He named all 10 cheeses from memory with ease, as well as describing raisins accompanying them. The chef is friendly, engaging, and justly proud (yet wholly unpretentious) of his ingredient. He hand-selects his milk and oil from nearby producers. We enjoyed the complimentary soup, the starters of goat cheese and the eg with potato, ham, and Reblochon cheese; the beef and the lamb, and the excellent souffle and Paris-Brest. We were generously offered savory pastries to start and some candied nuts not only to accompany our coffee but also a gift bag to take home. We were beautifully taken care of, and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Speaking with the chef, we realized what a high level of training and experience he has. Not all chefs are so engaging, as some prefer to remain in the kitchen, but he is happy to share his passion with us The team is discreet and yet attentive, and the young waiter attended to to details like cup handles faced correctly (we are right-handed) and dishes set down silently, with respect for our conversation. The timing of the souffle was perfect, and the ice cream is homemade, with perfect flavor and texture. I found the prices very reasonable, and the menu offers a lot of variety. Portion sizes were just right, and we felt comfortable afterward even after many courses. The cuisine is balanced and highlights the inherent flavors of the ingredients.
