How You Can Experience 1920s Paris Today

"I visited the site where Hemingway first met Fitzgerald — the Dingo Bar at 10 Rue Delambre — which today is an Italian restaurant called L'Auberge de Venise; the original bar remains, so you can still imagine having a drink with 'Papa.'" - Matthew Kepnes

The atmosphere is very good, having some traditional mask. I want to order the beaf, but actually it’s liver of veal. What’s surprised is it’s cooked very good, not dry and hard nor raw. And the waiter Ivan is very kind and handsome. He offered me a free entrée. But I was not very hungry, so I didn’t finished all the food. And thanks to folk app, it has 50% discounts. Very good memories.

Enjoyable meal for our last night in Paris at an authentic Italian run by Italians 🇮🇹. The service was mostly great but young lady was not helpful and clearly not able to smile. Food was lovely - especially the tiramisu - and the atmosphere was really fun and vibrant. Free limoncello was a nice touch!

Yesterday we dined at the historic Auberge de Venise, once Dingo's American Bar, the spot where Ernest Hemingway first met F Scott Fitzgerald. Perfect company, amazing food and the tarte tatin was the best restaurant dessert I've ever had 😋 A perfect end to a perfect day!

The welcoming in Italian is a nice touch on arrival. The waiter seems to know the menu well with several recommendations. For entrée, I ordered a mixed seafood carpaccio (several fishes and scallops). Unfortunately, it was so cold I wonder if all the ingredients just came directly from the freezer 🥴 As a main course, I had Osso Bucco which took a long time to arrive. The dish is good but the quantity is more like an entrée, not a main dish. Overall, if it were not for the special reduction offer, the visit was not worth my time. Lastly, the place was apparently Ernest Hemingway's favorite hangout but is it really necessary to splash his photo even in the toilet... ? 🤔

From the moment we stepped into Auberge de Venise Montparnasse, we knew we were in for a special experience. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, combined with impeccable service, made for a truly memorable evening. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, offering kind hospitality and expert recommendations. Their attentiveness and professionalism added to the charm of the restaurant. As for the food, every dish was an absolute delight. From the fresh ingredients to the authentic flavors, each bite transported us to Italy. The pasta was cooked to perfection, the seafood was incredibly fresh, and the desserts were the perfect way to end the meal. A huge thank you to the entire team for such a wonderful evening. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience in Paris! Grazie mille!

The atmosphere is really atypical and really nice. The service quite quick and really nice. Food quality is fine and generous, however it is not justifying the price. It is good we had some discount with the booking but without I wouldn’t come at with this kind of price

I experienced an Italian restaurant in Montparnasse that offered a delightful vintage ambiance. The food was tasty, the portions were generous, and the service was warm and welcoming. You can reserve through the Fork to get some discount.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this literary landmark - we didn't have a reservation ( I suggest making one) however we showed up just as they opened for dinner at 6:30p and managed to get a table. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite and truly immersed ourselves in the vibe of this lovely Montparnasse gem! Try the Burrata starter - incredible! The Tiramisu was quite delectable as well. The pesto ravioli had the perfect amount of basil and wasn't an overwhelming portion which I appreciated. The only reason it didn't get a full 5 stars is because it seemed the tables after us received better service in that we were the only table in the restaurant that did not receive a small plate of bruschetta upon seating however my guest pointed out to me that every table around us did. I didn't mind so much but she felt put off by it. I'm sure it was just a simple oversight and not personal!

Yelp
This was just around the corner from our hotel...you will not be disappointed...we came in early about 6pm... the place was empty!!!

Yelp
A quite good Italian restaurant in calm street of Montparnasse close to movie theaters so that's probably a good choice if you want something fast but still tasty. Pastas are good but the risotto my wife ordered was dry and honestly not really good. I would still recommend this place at least for the pastas.

Yelp
Very rude staff. Had dinner next door and wanted to visit and have a glass of wine to enjoy the the Hemingway history behind the location. It wasn't crowded, but the manager made me leave unless I was ordering dinner and was extremely rude about it. Was very disappointed with an experience I was looking forward to.

Yelp
They have a 3 course menu ranging from 24eur to 30eur. They had a little cup of salty olives and bruschetta that they offer for free. The appetizer was better on the 24eur course just salad with tomato and fresh buffalo mozzarella. The 30eur tuna app was okay but not great. The entree was okay seafood linguine was good and the calamari entree was good as well. The dessert was really good on the 24eur course coffee ice cream with fresh whipped cream on top and coffee on the bottom. The 30eur desert tiramisu was good but the coffee ice cream dessert was better. Pass on the Rose Bordeaux wine, better elsewhere.

Yelp
So glad we stumbled upon this gem! Great food & service. We started with the salmon app with olive oil, capers & lemon. My husband has the tortellini de formaggio & I had the rigatoni de Gorgonzola, which both were so rich in flavor & tasted so good. We also had a bottle of prosecco which went great with our pasta! Wish we were in Paris longer to eat here twice!!

Yelp
This is a great restaurant. It has great food but more importantly the service by the waiters and by the staff is fantastic. When they saw our baby crying they made sure she had a good time while we enjoyed our dinner. Quality of the food was amazing!

Yelp
I had a wonderful time there with some friends. We were celebrating a 25th birthday and had a theater play just nearby at 9pm. The waiter made everything to let us go on time and he even make something nice for our birthday dessert. My friends had spaghetti al carbonara and I had a salad - food was good.

Yelp
Who would expect to find an excellent Italian restaurant in Montparnasse!!! We were just strolling around and it looked so good, we decided to forgo the French restaurants (which had also been excellent) and give it a try---Great decision---I had pasta and my husband has Veal Saltimbocca---Both were perfect---And, of course, a bottle of French wine!!!

Yelp
Food is average but the waitress!! I ordered penne arabiatta and after waiting 50 minutes he served me spaghetti and when I asked, said that he didnt know penne has finished. I told him three times that you should have told me this but he didnt listen to me and forced!! me to eat spaghetti and unfortunately I couldnt. I never eat spaghetti! Unfortunately he was the rudest I have ever seen!

Yelp
Not good. Just a regular italian restaurant. Atmosphere is fine for a family diner though.
