Incredibly rude and ignorant service. We (family with 2 children) asked for a menu on arrival at the restaurant and whether there were fries for the children...both in English and in simple French. Nevertheless, we weren't understood and the waiter then disappeared into the restaurant and didn't come back. We left and found our waiter playing soccer outside. He then had the cheek to point out to my wife and children that the parking lot at the restaurant was reserved even though we didn't park there but only walked to the nearby water source. Absolute cheek!

We arrived when it was pouring down hence we decided to stay the night. Service seemed okay when you didn’t ask for anything. Food was tasty but my girlfriend got food-poisoning in the night/early morning. They took no responsibility of it and wanted to throw us out before due checkout. No empathy nor accountability what so ever (by the boss(?)). Breakfast was a bunch of burnt pieces of baguette. Noticeably they were _all_ end-pieces of what must’ve been leftovers. Literally, and without question, the lousiest breakfast I have ever had. It was accompanied by some jam and a small plastic container of Nutella. One hot drink and some orange/apple juice. We had to book a room for the following night as well, since my girlfriend fell so ill from the food. A room would be readily available in an hour, he said. Three and a half hours later, after plenty of discussion and blaming customers for showing up “too early” for the rooms to be fine, we could check in. Apparently no sense of space nor time. To be continued..

We ate at the restaurant, did not stay the night. The food is amazing, excellent quality local cuisine, with very friendly service (and I was quite thankful for the waiters' great English, as my French is not what it used to be...). The wine recommendation was spot-on. 100% recommend!

At the moment of paying they will tell you that it is not possible to pay by card. Don't trust them, they lie. Don't drive 18km for the nearest ATM. Don't believe they don't have network, you can see network is working on your phone. Don't be afraid of them shouting at you. They have a card machine and they will bring it up to you if you tell them you're leaving. Same experience as other customers. Just pirates. At least food was good. Proof of card payment on the picture.

A choice between one star and five stars. One star because at the end of the meal you are suddenly faced with cash or cheque payment options. As other reviews have said there is no warning of this. Apparently if you don't have the cash they'll find a card terminal. This is not acceptable in a modern world at a major tourist destination. Now the five stars, welcome warm, service excellent, food very tasty and plenty of it, price not bad for where it is. 55 euros for a large tasty entrecote steak cooked to perfection, the haricot and beef stew, very tasty, a portion of chestnut tart that was easily enough for two, a bottle of water and two coffees. Very happy with the meal and service. Auberge management either warn your customers about your card policy or just accept them as the better option.

Great place to stay overnight on the last / second-to last (or perhaps first) night of the GR20. The place is a couple of turns down the road from the hubbub of the pass, and much quieter as a result. Great restaurant and very kind and helpful staff. We stayed in the gite, which is typical dorm accommodation, but clean and well put together.

We drove up the adventurous road, were in good mood and as this place was recommended in our guide, we thought it must be tested. When arriving there 40min before 7pm, we were just coldly told that the kitchen opens at seven and that there is no food and that we should have a good evening. Not even asked to take a drink and/any apatizers and wait till the kitchen opens. Quite disappointed on the hospitality. We couldn't taste any food or drinks and left after such a reaction from the host for a better place in sea direction.
