Fantastic place to stay in heart of Québec City. Front desk staff are super friendly and helpful. You get towels but bring your own soap, shampoo etc. |Breakfast is sufficient, boiled eggs, toast, bagel, coffee, tea, cereal, fruits, different juice etc |I love how everyone is just so chill and not bothering or rushing you. They have a bar, pool table and small rooms in lobby to read, work or whatever you like to do. |All kind of ages stay here, from elderlies, families, teenagers or solo travellers. You feel home! |Rooms have a small standing fan (which doesn’t do much, circulates hot air) and small heater (for cold weather) but no central AC. Nowhere in the hostel has central AC. It gets scorching at 32c heat. |The location is fantastic, you can literally walk everywhere from the hotel as it’s short distance, and only way to explore beautiful Québec City is to walk. Overall great place to stay!

I had an excellent experience! Friendly staff, good facilities, breakfast available. There is a possibility to join the city walking tour and they currently provide some bus passes to get around the city. Luggage storage is available and you can leave your luggage on the day of check-out, free of charge. Highly recommend it :)

I booked 4 bedded female dorm and it is clean, bed is comfortable. It comes with buffet breakfast spread and the common dining/kitchen area are spacious, clean and well equipped with cooking ware.It is also well located within the tourists destinations . Cozy coffee corner and reading area are available if one wants some quiet moments. Staffs are ever friendly and helpful.Enjoyed my stay

Location is great and centrally located. The accomodations are average to below average (to be expected of a cheap hostel). Free breakfast is a nice free addition every morning. They also have free luggage storage after check out. The bunk beds were okay. There's a sliding curtain you can use for privacy in the shared dorm room. There are no a/c at this establishment. Showers and restrooms are co-shared. And both genders are on the same floor.

Recently Stay here for a night everything is great Great service Good Location The room doesnt have an AC but it was colder at night so its not an issue.Breakfast was decent and the front desk are very helpful, We arrive early but no problem because they allow us to store our luggage and came back when its check in time.. We booked a private room for a family of five and it was perfect💕.

Google
A+ location as it's a 15-minute walk from the train station. The staff are super nice, the gentleman i met initially at the front desk was very encouraging towards my broken French. Very clean. Breakfast of eggs, apples, tea, coffee, bagels, toast, jam, marmalade, butter, cream cheese, rice krispie treats. Points off for one-ply toilet paper, I understand it's a hostel but having kleeenex in the rooms would also be nice.

The best hostel I have ever stayed in: incredible location for whatever part of Quebec you want to visit, incredibly clean, friendly staff, recently renovated and nicely set up, and great breakfast. Highly recommended!

Was lucky enough to have a fairly empty room, but this is the best hostel I’ve stayed at so far in Canada! Cozy, clean, lots of facilities to use. Great location and staff were friendly and helpful. No complaints from what I can recall!

Yelp
To alot of people who might have issues with being disturbed at night when sleeping, I suggest bringing along some ear-plugs to block out the noise of motion withing your rooms. They will help alot after 11pm when some your revelling roommates come back. Well Auberge Internationale de Qubec, you are the first Hostel International location in Canada for which I have written a review on Yelp :-) I stayed here for two nights and it's a very nice and clean hostel. I can only compare it with the Vancouver HI Hostel on Granville Street which is just as fairly maintained. I found the other Hostel International locations within Canada to be not as clean as these two hostels. It looks like the Auberge Internationale was built inside a school or a border house because it is a lot elongated and spacious inside than when you look at it from the street. The entry to the hostel room have to be accessed with the key-card and the same goes for the rooms, which was great. Not all HI hostels have that feature! The central area of the 8 bunk dorm room was spacious to move around and I liked the little platform around the base of the big windows. Enough sun-light came in during the day and brightened up the room. And the showers and washrooms are also just as clean, the showers are also private which means there is an outer door that you can close when you go inside. You can have a secure shower experience and the heat from the hot water will stay not escape from the shower stall. And even though breakfast is an extra charge, I didn't include that as part of my booking. There are plenty of places to have breakfast near the hostel. Also, I noticed at this particular hostel that the location of the front desk and its separation from the rooms did not allow too many guests to congregate around the front desk area so you could go in and breathe easy as you made your way to your hostel room. It was mostly quiet even in the night time The location also allows you to get to several (important) attractions such as parts of the city's walls with the ramparts and the looked-out towers, fortification areas with lots of old cannons and an impressive view of parts of the lower side of the Old Quebec as well as the Chateau Frontenac, a few older churches, and from there you can walk along Rue Saint-Jean through one of the gate-ways and go towards the downtown areas. You can check out all these places on your first day before making your way further down into Old Quebec. And also from the auberge you can walk down to the parts of Rue Saint Jean with lots of little shops, cafes and restaurants. I definitely recommend this Auberge as it is central enough and not right smack in the middle of some of the touristy areas and escape away from the crowds in the more commercial areas of the old town when you head back to sleep after a long night of touring and dining.

Yelp
Very well run hostel in an outstanding location that doesn't feel as big as it is. The rooms and furnishings are basic but clean & comfortable enough, shared bathrooms are well kept & plentiful, and the kitchen is big & well-stocked. My family stayed in a private room, and we saw several other children there -- there was even a box of toys in the dining area. The breakfast included with some dorms and all private rooms was quite basic: bread, bagels, and bad coffee.

Yelp
Wonderful hostel. Clean and quiet. Extremely friendly staff. Not a party atmosphere so I got a lot of rest. Prime location, great amenities. Will recommend

Yelp
I stay in hostels to save money (a no brainer) but not because I like the vibe of bunk beds, 5 roommates, and shared washrooms. I'll preface this by divulging that I am almost 27, and have experience traveling to Europe numerous times, often staying at hostels to keep costs down. I think, however, that I really am getting a bit too old for them. For starters, the beds here are extremely small. I consider myself lucky in that I was assigned a bottom bunk as close to the window as possible. But if you stretch out or roll over you hit the edge no matter what (I'm about 5'7). The showers had a lot of hair on the ground and were also very tight. Don't forget to bring flip flops! Stay here if you need to save money, it costs only $35 per night and is in a great area. It's still a great deal for the price, although when I can afford more, I'll likely pay to upgrade.

Yelp
I love living in hostels. The boyfriend hates it, spoilt fellow. So whenever I travel without him, I convince my travel-mates to let me book the accomodation and promptly book a nice-looking hostel. So where were we? Auberge Internationale, yes. Situated on a gently sloping road in the heart of old Quebec, my heart did a little dance when I saw the cobbled street leading up to the building. This really is a superb location! Two pairs of tired feet enter at 11 AM. One man at counter is stiffly friendly(SF) and the other has a mild smirk on his face (MS). SF offers us the option of keeping our luggage in the bagage room if we wish. Yes! we say. Me: What do you suggest we do until 2 PM, when our room will be available? SF: You could walk about, it's a pretty place, yada yada. Oh yes, and there's a FREE tour offered by the hostel at 3! Me: Hear the word free. If it's free, I'm there at three. We walk about, eat at Le Commensal, get back at 2:10 PM. Mildly smirking man is still smirking mildly. MS: Yes, welcome, here are the keys (smirk), the activities are listed on the board, the bar will be open tonight, enjoy. smirk. We trot over to the activities board. In big bold letters are the words: FREE CITY TOUR AT 2 PM. Confused, we trot back. Me: Hey, the board says the tour is at 2 PM! MS: Yes, everyone just left. Me: What! Why did SF tell us it is at 3 PM! SF: What does the activities board say? Me: 3 PM SF. Shrug. Then it is at 3. Hmm. Come on! It's okay to mess up but it is not cool to shrug it off without an iota of an apology. That little incident apart, the room and bathrooms were sparkling clean, our dorm-mates were friendly, and we had a fantastic time in this quaint city. I would definitely recommend it. Take a look at the actitivites board first, though :)

Yelp
Very clean youth hostel. In fact we saw a lot of families staying here as well. It is located up the hill slightly, so bear this in mind when booking ( then again, Quebec is hilly in general) It's great value, the hostel has washing and drying machines that works perfectly well. We had breakfast here which includes unlimited, bagels, toasts, hard boiled eggs, cereals, coffee/tea, juices. enough to fuel you to explore the amazing city. There is no lift in the hostel, you have to carry your suitcases up/down the stairs. There is also no 'cook yourself' kitchen. The in house bar closes at 11pm and is mostly quiet and relaxed rather than loud and noisy. There's good outdoor area, and wi-fi is free. If you're lucky you might get reception in some rooms too. Great location, and good value for money, we will stay again.

Yelp
Went there twice... first time, staff was nice. Second time, staff was rather careless (different person). Room great, location great, kitchen okay, staff - uncertain

Yelp
Stayed here for one night whilst visiting beautiful Quebec City. Generally HI hostels are fairly good Hostels and have a reliable standard but they do often leave you wanting in the bed department and this hostel is no different. Having had very little sleep the night before I was disappointed to find that my bed had one of the smallest mattresses I have seen in a hostel and I am a pretty small person but I generally like to have a little extra space on my mattress but never the less I endured a restless nights sleep on a squeaky noisy bunk that made noises and woke everyone up everytime someone went to the toilet. Beds aside the Hostel is centrally located a little bit up the hill in Old Montreal within the city walls about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station and within walking distance of everything else in the city. There are activities each day as well as a bar and guest kitchen which I can't comment on because I didn't have time to use either. Wi-fi was also not accessible in my room so I didn't get to use that but apparently it is available free where you can get a signal. Bathrooms are weirdly big but yet some only have one shower and one toilet when clearly more could fit and then if they are occupied it is then a hunt on the rest of the floor to find another. Overall not the best HI experience but ok for $30 a night.

Yelp
This was my first time staying at a hostel and I was a bit hesitant but relieved once I saw the actual amenity. The check in lobby is your typical run down looking place you'd expect to see. The people are nice and helpful and the majority speak English. I stayed with a couple of my girlfriends in a dorm for 4 and it was spacious and clean with a huge window that you can actually open when it gets stuffy. The sheets and towel were provided, in our room we had a coat rack and 4 lockers where you can fit a small suitcase or a backpack. They provide a lock for $5 at the check in or you can bring your own. The individual rooms are all accessed by a card people can't just wonder into your room. There were also multiple bathrooms with several stalls and showers on each floor. I was pleasantly surprised that I never had to wait to use the shower/toilet. It was relatively quiet, I never heard anyone next door (even tho we had neighbors). Just heard when ppl would walk by talking loudly. If you don't feel like going out, they do have a quiet library, a tv room with bean bags and a bar downstairs that has board games (several of them had missing pieces but we made do). The bar offers a wide variety of cheap drinks. Breakfast was also included in our stay. It wasn't anything deans but better than nothing. It consisted of hard boiled eggs, 2 dry cereals, toast and bagels, coffee/juice. Overall, I liked it a lot and would come back. It safe and clean with nice folks managing the place.

Yelp
Update: as I was sitting in the train station ready to leave Quebec City, congratulating myself for being so early I suddenly realized I had left all of my money in the locker in my room. With 30 minutes to go until my train departed, I rushed back to the hotel where they informed me that they waited to cut my lock off just to see if I would come back and then escorted me to the room where I was relieved to find that my belongings were still there, intact, no thanks to me. The previously rude smoking man then made sure to call me a cab and I was rushed back to the train station without abut 10 minutes to spare. A couple of weeks later I received an email from the hostel manager offering up some bizarre explanation for the room/ key issue and a free night if I should ever happen to be in Quebec City again. While I don't see that happening I do appreciate the front desk's assistance in getting me in, making sure my belongings were safe, and getting me back to the train station on time. That made up for a lot.
