August 20, 2025 – disappointing experience
(Update below)
At first, it looks welcoming, but the reality is very different. My wife and I arrived without a reservation. Since they didn’t have any rooms available, they offered us the lawn to set up our tent. We agreed and paid $40 for that.
The next day, after going out for a trip, we came back around 7 p.m. planning to stay for several days. To our shock, we found our tent completely destroyed — torn apart, filthy, and unusable. What should have been a simple camping stay turned into a hostile and unsafe situation.
Even after this unacceptable incident, we had no choice but to stay for one more night, as we couldn’t find another place during the night, leaving us with a clear feeling of being disrespected and mistreated.
This place is not respecful.
This is based on our personal experience. In our opinion, this place felt unsafe and untrustworthy.
Update after response:
Unfortunately, the condition of the tent was not due to the wind. When we left, the tent was properly set up and secure, with our luggage and mattress inside. However, when we returned, it was in an unusable state. We had to spend considerable time fixing it, and it was full of grass and insects. Even now, our bags are still dirty with grass. To me, this felt as if the tent had been destroyed.
As for leaving without informing our intentions, since this is a tourist location, we went out and ended up being delayed on our excursion. We were paddling on the sea until late, without access to a phone.
The fact that we had left our tent and all our belongings was a clear sign that we would return and, of course, pay as agreed. In fact, our plan was to stay even longer. What it really felt like was an unpleasant retaliation for not having informed that we would stay an extra day.
To be fair, the young man who helped us rebuild the tent was kind and understood that we were in a difficult situation. We are grateful to him for his help.
However, the overall experience left us feeling uncomfortable and unsafe. When we returned from our excursion, the reaction of the group of workers made it clear that we were being pointed out as “the couple with the tent,” which added to the negative experience. Sadly, instead of feeling welcomed, we left with the opposite impression.
