Auberge Jeunesse QBEDS Hostel

Good place. Location is perfect. Took 15 mins walking, if not less, to the old town. It is clean here. Staff are friendly. They are located just above a bar which when I stayed there over the weekend had a private function and the music was heard around the whole of the place. They do send messages in advance about this and ask to let them know if that's a problem, maybe they have quieter rooms but I ignored this at the time. They provide free breakfast - something basic like juice, fruits, yoghurt but better than nothing. Overall, good stay with the exception of the noise

Wonderful place to eat. So comfortable and quiet. Having a few snacks for breakfast options were nice too. Beautiful and specious place with so many apps to relax. The lazy forest was my favourite! I wish there was bigger show stalls so I could change right after it was a bit cramped. Overall would definitely recommend

Pros Very beautifully designed Not that far from.main locations as long as you are OK to walk 15-20 minutes They have great amenities like reading room,Board games,gym and movie theater. Lots of space to just lounge on a lazy day Cons Beds are Wayyyyy to cramped,you CAN NOT sit up straight without banging your head Stange thing is that they have high ceilings so they could have had beds with more head space You have to make your own bed when you come in,fitted sheets an all I know SMH !! Showers are not the best but they are always clean so can't complain much. The showed space is literally like a 4 by 4 box😅🤣 No storage cabinets just under bed drawers that are squeaky and inconvenient to say the least. Over all the room amenities can improve but alverall good!

Don’t book this hostel if you value your time. The rooms are ok, and I didn’t mind the noise at night. You have to put your own sheets on the bed which I found odd, and the showers are very small. There’s also a lot of stairs to get to your room. The worst part of my stay is that the reception room was constantly closed. I needed to grab my bags to leave, and the room was locked for 30+ minutes. There’s a sign on the door saying they’ll be “back in a few minutes” and to ring the bell on the door for service, but that does nothing. It’s nice that they offer bag storage, but it’s very frustrating that the staff is gone for long periods of time with no warning about when that occurs.

I had a great stay at Qbeds! The location is perfect, everything is within walking distance, and it’s super easy to catch a bus if needed. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and always available. I stayed in a private room, which was quiet and comfortable. It’s not very big, but just right for one person. The showers are a bit tight, but they work fine. I really liked the shared spaces, there’s a nice mix of modern design and old charm. Would definitely recommend!

I'm requesting a full refund, canceling my plans, and leaving early tomorrow. I've literally never been spoken to the way I was spoken to tonight while staying anywhere. An older woman took issue with me because I moved into an 8 bedroom shared room that she was staying in with her husband, and decided to complain because I was watching insta reels, and was going to call one of my partners. (This was around 10PM.) She complained, so I told her I would call and let him know that I would text him instead, and she insisted I get off of my phone immediately. I told her it would only take a moment, (granted this was absolutely psychotic behavior of her for staying at a hostel in an 8 bedroom shared room at 10PM on a Saturday night, so like, I was kind of trying to be as nice as possible about the situation,) and then she went downstairs and complained. (She was mad as well because I had come in late the night before and when I crawled into bed, it woke her up, I guess?) The worker who came upstairs said that I needed to move rooms, and started rushing me to get my suitcase. I started crying because of the absurdity of the situation and how rude she was being, and she rolled her eyes at me. I told her that her behavior was incredibly unprofessional, and asked to speak to a manager. Despite being in her early 20s and extremely rude, she claimed that she was the manager and told me that I needed to, "hurry up and move," because the woman needed sleep. I told her that I was texting, and that the move wasn't even necessary, but the older woman kept demanding, and she immediately sided with her. It's honestly the most uncomfortable and insane situation I've been in while staying anywhere, ever. Then she changed her mind because I called my partner after I started having a panic attack, and told the other woman to move instead, and commanded me to get back in my bed??? I told her she was making me incredibly uncomfortable, and that I didn't feel comfortable in the room with either of them. The way she spoke to me was straight up insanity. I've dealt with strange situations with cleanliness or needed help accessing seperate keyed entries before at places-but I've literally never in my life had an employee at a business point to a bed and tell me to get back into it??? After telling me to move all of my things??? I'm so confused and uncomfortable. I was about to go to bed, and none of this even needed to happen. I don't understand what is wrong with people. Everyone else in the city has been so kind, and then this happens, and I'm completely put off. I literally don't even know how to react right now. Her telling me to get back in bed while I was on the phone having a panic attack after changing her mind on the room arrangement twice was honestly so insane that I seriously am sitting here in the lobby completely numb from the entire experience. Never in my life. If you're thinking of staying here, stay in a group, or choose a more expensive place. The price is the way it is for a reason. I thought it would be chill, but it's the opposite. Some of the workers are too inexperienced, and it creates terrible customer service situations. Again, I've never experienced this type of thing before in my life, anywhere. I'm completely astonished.

I had a great stay at Qbeds! The front desk staff were super helpful, answering all my questions and giving me great tips on what to do in Quebec City. The rooms, washrooms, and all the facilities (laundry and social areas included) were very clean and everything worked perfectly, nothing broken or out of service. I also loved the grab-and-go breakfast, such a smart idea. Overall, friendly service, spotless facilities, good location, and a welcoming vibe, I’d definitely recommend Qbeds and stay again!

Very bad service towards clients needs.The way they talk and Treat people without taking accountability through situations or disregarding themselves for creating unrespectful space is just unprofessional and gives the place an unecessary toxic environment.. If your looking for a place where people will respond and listen properly without passive agressive behaviour its not the place to look.. ''Ill come in couple of minutes'' without caring and let's you on dry... Very common and rude...
