Perfect stay on the edge of the Sahara. We booked a stay at Auberge Kasbah Dar Sahara Tours to explore Erg Chegaga. Mbarek, our super nice and pleasant host and guide had organized a customized program according to our wishes. After a delicious dinner with a sunset on the terrace, we spent the first night at the Auberge, where we could leave our extra luggage and the rental car. The next morning, after a delicious breakfast, we started our 4x4 tour to the Oasis of the Holy Man, where we were served freshly prepared lunch. After an exciting roller coaster ride through the high dunes of the Erg Chegaga, we arrived at our desert camp, where we enjoyed sand boarding and a wonderful sunset ride on camels, bevor we had dinner and a memorable evening at the camp fire, listening to traditional songs. We really enjoyed this desert tour with Mbarek. Thank you very much for this experience!

Marrakech to Dakar with Dar Sahara Tours||This was a truly memorable overland journey and one I’m very glad I did. From the moment we headed south towards the desert from Auberge Kasbah Dar Sahara Tours, the experience felt like a real adventure; vast landscapes, long horizons, and moments that stay with you long after you’re home.||Highlights included the dunes and desert camps, evenings around the fire with music and lantern light, the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry flying museum, the beach drive with fresh fish cooked on the sand, and the warmth of local encounters along the way, not to mention the oasis and historic sites in Mauritania. Crossing borders, moving through remote regions, and experiencing places far beyond the usual tourist routes made this a rare and special trip.||Mbarak was consistently friendly, welcoming and upbeat, and together with Yahia they worked well as a team throughout the journey. Their good humour and easy manner added to the atmosphere of the trip, especially on long driving days.|What stood out most was the sheer scope of the journey — moving through dramatic landscapes and experiencing places that few travellers ever reach.||If you’re looking for something genuinely different — a journey that feels expansive, adventurous, and off the beaten path — this is one you won’t forget.

An absolutely unforgettable experience. Mbarek and the other hosts were so friendly and made sure we felt comfortable. What we loved most was that the tour was so flexible. Whether riding a camel through the desert or driving an SUV across the dunes, everything was perfectly fitted to our wishes. The mix of adventure and relaxation made this tour special. On top of that, the authentic and traditional atmosphere and the delicious food were amazing. We always felt safe while exploring the desert. An experience we can recommend to everyone. 🐪☀️

We had a 4x4 tour to visit Er Chigaga desert, the driver is nice, polite and humble. Smooth drive and had a fantastic time. The hotel room is spacious, clean, bonus that the shower have a good hot water with strong pressure despite it is at the desert location. Would strongly recommend.

Everything was perfect! Best experience in Morocco so far. M‘barak was so lovely and funny and helped us with everything. We did a 3 day tour where we first did some camel trekking and slept in a mobile camp under the stars, and then went to erg chigaga by 4x4 next day. We tried sandboarding, ate delicious tajine and traditional sand bread and made new friends (esp. Ali Baba - best camel ever!) So thankful for this amazing experience 🫶🏼

An authentic and peaceful experience right on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Host Mbarek is genuinely hospitable. The property itself is spacious, with plenty of open areas to relax in— comfortable tents and large terrace. The vibe is relaxed, natural, and feels authentically Moroccan, without the hustle and bustle of touristy spots. Located at the edge of M'Hamid Village, you get a stunning panoramic view of the Sahara Desert. The restaurant has traditional interiors with breathtaking views of the desert. The peacefulness of the place is a huge bonus, especially compared to the busier parts of town. It's quiet, away from the market noise and the construction in the center. You can take a walk or a short hike to the nearby sand dunes, surrounded by palm trees and the old village ruins. It’s a perfect spot for those looking for something more off-the-beaten-path, and less touristy. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic, serene desert experience.

My best experience in the desert. I’ve visited the desert twice with Mbarek. He’s a great host and such a kind person. You will love the experience—the tour, the bivouac, the music, and more. I highly recommend this tour!
