This hotel is like a hostel with shared bathrooms and a shared kitchen. We cooked 2 breakfasts and a dinner during our 2 night stay. There are 3 shared refrigerators where you label your groceries and then find a spot in one of the fridges. Sharing the kitchen was fun as there were several guests all making meals with each of us looking for utensils, cutting board, pots, and pans, etc. A couple of things to note about the kitchen. On 1 stove, 2 burners didn't heat up, and there was no oil that we could find.
Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. The shower stall in the mens bathroom is really tiny, with just enough room to turn around. There is another bathroom available that has a tub if you need more space.
The 2 rooms we had were small, just enough for the queen sized bed, a sink, and a table or dresser. It was fairly comfortable and clean. Not too noisy, but one can easily hear voices, foot steps, doors opening, and closing, etc.
Wifi is weak within the rooms, but you get full signal in the common areas.
Service is good, and they understand English, which is a plus.
The location is right in the national park, but it is about a 25-minute drive into Gaspe. Finding the hotel at night could be troublesome as there is little signage and only a narrow dirt road leading to the parking area. Use the cemetary and church as your markers.
Overall, the experience is quite unique, and it was enjoyable. Lower your expectations and have fun. The hotel is definitely busy, as we saw several families arrive on our last night there. It was a nice change of pace.
